CLAMP enters Amazon.co.jp “Hall of Fame”

On November 1st, online store Amazon.co.jp celebrated its 10th Anniversary and the 4 members of CLAMP attended the party.

The event was held to announce Amazon.co.jp’s “Hall of Fame” and CLAMP was nominated in the comic artists category. The artists were chosen based on sales and customers’ reviews.

Here are some pictures from the event (click to enlarge them):

In the pictures above, CLAMP members appear along with Amazon.co.jp president Jasper Zhang (front left) and manga creators Ken Akamatsu (Negima!, Love Hina), Nobuyuki Fukumoto (Akagi, Washizu) and Norifusa Mita (Dragon Zakura).

You can check the complete Amazon.co.jp “Hall of Fame” list here.

In a not-so-unrelated note, today marks 10 years since I became a CLAMP fan/follower. 10 years ago the 1st episode of the CCS anime premiered on Brazilian Cartoon Network and the journey began! CLAMP enters Amazon.co.jp Hall of Fame on the same day I celebrate 10 years of knowning them. Cool coincidence, huh? =)

CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 news

CLAMP’s official mobile website CLAMP@MOBiLE announced dates and a venue for the events known as CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011.

February 5, 2011: special art exhibition (entrance free of charge but only for CLAMP@MOBiLE members).
February 6, 2011: special event limited for 200 @MOBiLE members picked by lottery.

Both events (art exhibit and special event) will take place at the AMLUX TOKYO (5th Floor, AMLUX Hall) in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

The announcement also says that other projects related to CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 will be announced in the future.

So is the exhibition going to be a one-day thing? There is nothing about the exhibition opening to the general public later. And that hall looks like a good place for screenings and talk shows, but not an art exhibition O.o

That’s all the info we have so far!

More about the upcoming CLAMP Art Exhibition

This other japanese blogger has more information about the upcoming CLAMP Art Exhibition to be held next year.

Confirming the rumor from my previous post, the exhibition will indeed be part of the CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 activities and will be held in Ikebukuro (Tokyo) in February.

The bad news is that the exposition will be exclusive to members of the CLAMP@MOBiLE service.

In addition to the Art Exhibition, tickets to a Special Event will be given out by lottery to a selected amount of members.

More details about the Art Exhibition (such as date and venue) and the Special Event will be announced by the end of October.

Personally I am a little disappointed with that, if the exhibition stays closed to CLAMP@MOBiLE members, only, it might not get much attention from the press or attract possible new fans at all. On the other hand, I’m looking forward to know more about this Special Event and I hope the CLAMP members themselves will participate.

By the way, tomorrow marks 1 year since the end of Tsubasa (of course we had the epilogue later on). Time flies, huh?

Rumor: CLAMP Art Exhibition in February, 2011

According to this japanese blogger, there will be a new CLAMP Art Exhibition next February in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

Today CLAMP-NET.COM informed that new information was updated about the CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 event. I am on my way to confirm if this news refers to the Art Exhibition and I’ll post here as soon as I can confirm that.

If confirmed, this would be the first CLAMP Art Exhibition since CLAMP Su, which was held in commemoration of CLAMP’s 15th Anniversary in 2004-2005.

Veeeery excited about this! Here’s hoping that the expo will include talk shows, signing sessions and original goodies!

Stay tuned for more info!

I Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE COMmeMORATiVE Day

The Spanish website Crossed Destinies is organizing the I Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE COMmeMORATiVE Day, a global event to celebrate the 7th Anniversary of Tsubasa’s serialization and 1st Anniversary of its ending.

From their press release:

For the 7th anniversary of the start of Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE serialization and the first after the manga has ended and the release in Spain of volume 28 on May 6th, Crossed Destinies wants to announce the I Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE COMmeMORATiVE Day on May 21st, 2010. After selling more than 20 millions of volumes throughout the world and becoming CLAMP’s most famous manga, this day has been chosen as an homage to Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE throughout the world. Many organizations, associations and fan clubs will collaborate to make many kinds of non-profit activities related to the series. In a similar way that happened with other manga, such as Ai Yazawa’s NANA in the NANA Day (7/7/2007), the idea is that all the fans around the globe make activities to remember TRC. For that purpose, at Crossed Destinies we’re providing all fans and associations the necessary help to administer and organize all the activities and events, updating the list of cities and activities daily.

As for us, in collaboration with the bookstore “Casa del Libro” in Málaga (Spain), we’re going to make an screening with Tsubasa OADs (not licensed in our country) subbed in spanish, and also make a trivia with exclusive prizes, a Q&A panel and other activities.

Audio of CLAMP’s Conference at Japan Expo

Wait, am I still talking about CLAMP in Paris? I guess xD

A promise is a promise and I promised I would share the audio from CLAMP’s public conference at Japan Expo and here it is!

It was recorded by eolo, who was sitting 2 seats beside me, and transferring the file from his iPhone to the computer proved to be harder than we thought (which is why it took us this long). But he made it nevertheless and here it is! Thank you very much, Marco!

The file has 157 MB, the beginning has CLAMP IN WONDERLAND 2 (which was screened twice) and the ending has 3 minutes of absolutely no sound. I tried to edit the audio file and cut the beginning and ending but the output file ended up being even larger than the original file. Since I didn’t want to compromise its quality, I decided to share the original file, no editions.

The quality is great, it might get too loud whenever the audience cheers but well, it WAS loud even for us who were there, so xD Basically if you know french you’ll be able to understand all of it ^^

Enjoy it!

CLAMP in Paris: Pictures and Videos (Updated)

This post in an attempt to gather the pictures and videos that I have made while I was in Paris and also the material that appeared on the internet. There are some contributions too from some kind people that I met there who shared their pictures and videos with me.

If you have pictures and videos and would like to share, I would love to have them so please feel free to do it ^^

I tried to make the post as organized as possible, but it might look a bit confusing xD I have separated the material by dates and one for the local press. Furthermore, I’ve separated each of them in picture galleries and videos.

The videos are in several formats: AVI, MPG, MOV and FLV. You might need a special player or codec to play them correctly.
