Really excited about this! This will coincide with CLAMP’s 33rd Anniversary. They did a special feature by the time of their 20th Anniversary.

And the interview is likely the one that Nanase Ohkawa-sensei mentioned a couple of weeks ago on her twitter:

Needless to say I’m very excited about this! First CLAMP interview in 6 years!

A press conference was held today to announce two new Code Geass projects: a smartphone game and a new anime series. CLAMP will provide new character design concepts for both projects.

The press conference was streamed live on YouTube on December 5th, Lelouch’s birthday.

The new anime series will be called Code Geass Dakkan no Zetto (Code Geass Z of the Recaptured) and its main visual was revealed:

Like previous Code Geass anime series, Takahiro Kimura will once again adapt CLAMP’s original concept designs for the anime. No information regarding beginning of broadcast was given.

The smartphone game will be called Code Geass Genesic Re;CODE and will be available starting April 2021. The key visual featuring the three main characters was also revealed, along with a PV:

At least for the game, the character designs looks very much like the current CLAMP style. I am already looking forward to see CLAMP’s original concepts and all the new illustrations they will provide for this! 2021 is already looking better than 2020 so far =)

New Code Geass project in the works

From AnimeNewsNetwork:

Sunrise announced at the Code Geass 10th Anniversary event on Sunday that the franchise is getting its “next project,” as well as a three-part compilation anime film series. Below is the visual announcing the next project:

The next project is titled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection), but the announcement did not reveal the format of the project.

The three-part film series will recap all 50 episodes of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion series and the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 sequel series. The cast are re-recording all their lines for the films, and the films will include new scenes. The first film will open in 2017.

Looking forward to the new CLAMP art for this and hopefully a second artbook will finally be released.

2017 is looking good for us CLAMPers. We deserve it after the long draught we’ve been through for the past few years.

Episode 19 is up for download at CLAMP no Kyoto Agaru Sagaru‘s official website.

This episode’s main topic was Code Geass.

They spent the first 6:30 min of the show answering a message sent by a listener. It had to do with XXXHOLiC but I have no idea what was about…

Then, they started talking about Code Geass — the DVD & Blu-Ray of the final episode of Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito is coming out in April (CLAMP drew its box illustration) — and all sort of things related to it, including Maaya Sakamoto and Miyu Irino, both voice the two main characters.

They published this (really amusing) drawing of Akito and Rayearth’s Hikaru as a joke since both of these characters have braids:

I really miss the episodes in which they talk about their own works…

Several news

• Code Geass Boukoku no Akito

The release date of the 2nd episode of Code Geass Boukoku no Akito has been postponed for Summer (it was originally expected for this Spring). ANN has more info:

The official website for the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled video series announced on Tuesday that the second volume has been delayed from this spring to this summer. The website also presented a new piece of key visual art. The anime's production committee apologized for the delay and said that the release date and other details will be announced on the home page and Twitter account as soon as they are decided.

The first episode opened in theaters in August. The series is planned for four episodes.

The 1st episode of Code Geass Boukoku no Akito was released in DVD and Blu-ray today in Japan.

• XXXHOLiC

The titles of the first 6 episodes of the XXXHOLiC TV Drama were revealed:

Episode 1 – 縁 (Connection)
Episode 2  – 対価 (Compensation)
Episode 3  – 百物語 (100 Stories)
Episode 4  – エンジェルさん (Angel-san)
Episode 5  – 紫陽花 (Hydrangea)
Episode 6  – 女郎蜘蛛 (Jorougumo)

Judging by these titles, we can tell which arcs have been confirmed to appear on the series. Looks like they decided to cut the arcs with creatures in it, which makes sense from a live action adaptation point of view.

• CLAMP-NET.COM

For those who were worried about CLAMP's official site shutting down since the beginning of this month, rest assured, the site will be back… eventually!

On summary of the March issue of JUMP SQ (out Feb. 4), CLAMP left a comment saying that the website is currently closed but they are working on its relaunch and ask people to check their twitter account in the meantime.

There you go, our prayers have been heard! haha

So they are working a new version that will be relauched soon. I suspected that, but they shouldn't have left us in the dark like this =P They should have said something when they closed it down (they should add something in the main page right now, in fact).

It would be great to have the relaunch in April, but that's just my assumption.

Already looking forward to this!

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion gets film project

Code Geass news just keep coming!

From ANN:

Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, the producer of the Code Geass anime franchise, announced on Thursday that a film adaptation of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion anime is being planned. Kawaguchi specifically said that the film adaptation is for the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion story and not the separate Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.

Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito to screen in Japanese theaters (Updated)

Sunrise has announced that the Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito project will be screened in 10 Japanese theaters this summer. Miyu Irino will play Akito, while Maaya Sakamoto will play Reira Marukaru.

Sunrise also announced a stage musical inspired by the original anime, in addition to the previously announced non-musical stage play (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Souran Eve). A social game is launching on Japan’s mobile game platform Mobage.

I’m not sure if this means that Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito is actually a movie, I don’t think so. I think it’s a first-look of what the project is going to be like.

But hey, it’s Tsubasa’s Syaoran, Miyu Irino, and Maaya Sakamoto! =)

More info as they come!

Update: ANN has the word that Maaya Sakamoto will also provide the theme song for Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito.

Update 2:

A 90-second promotional video for the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled anime project was presented at Thursday’s Code Geass New Project Announcement event and later streamed by Bandai Namco Live TV online.

MOON SAGA press conference

A press conference to introduce the MOON SAGA project was held earlier today at Kodansha’s headquarters in Tokyo. The event was live-streamed by USTREAM and lasted for about 40 minutes.

GACKT himself attended the conference as well as a representative from Kodansha and other staff members. CLAMP members weren’t present but they left a message saying that they were very happy and looking forward to work in the project.

There wasn’t much new information revealed in it, GACKT mentioned he has known all of CLAMP’s works and feels a sense of “destiny” in them and that’s what attracted him to collaborate with them. He reafirmed the intention of bringing the stage play into manga, anime and game adaptations and hopes that the project will reach an international range.

A manga adaptation is expected to run in a Kodansha magazine. Although so far it hasn’t been confirmed, let’s all hope that CLAMP will be in charge of drawing this manga series.

More pictures here.

Speaking of which, ANN reports that a stage play adaptation for Code Geass has been decided for April 2012:

The official website for Sunrise’s Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series announced on Monday that a stage play adaptation has been green-lit. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Sōran Eve Matsuri (Riot’s Eve Festival) will run for 13 performances at the Mozart Hall at Tokyo’s Katsuhika Symphony Hills from April 7 to April 16. More details and advance ticket pre-orders will be available on December 25.
