Several news from the past days gathered in one post.

• Seems like the XXXHOLiC 2011 Desktop calendar will actually feature previously released illustrations, you can check the cover at Amazon.jp. There is also a Kobato. callendar coming out from the same company that is releasing the XXXHOLiC one.

• The latest issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine is announcing that XXXHOLiC will feature the cover of the magazine’s next issue. The same issue will also carry the application service for XXXHOLiC’s first Fukusei Genga (複製原画), a reproduction of an original art designed to look like one.

• According to Comic Natalie website, the next XXXHOLiC Rou OAD will come out with volume 19, to be released in March, 2011.

• CLAMP’s official website announced their first mobile event entitled CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011. The event will be restricted to CLAMP@MOBiLE members and details about dates and contents haven’t been given yet, or whether CLAMP members themselves will have some form or participation. I will post here in case this event turns out to be something worth-posting.

Kobato. DVD #7 to come with new Box drawn by CLAMP

The limited first edition for the 7th DVD of the Kobato. TV Anime will come with a new Box illustrated by CLAMP to store the second half of the series’ DVDs. The first Box came with the limited first edition of DVD 1 to store the first half.

Other extras in DVD #7 include reports from the Kobato. museum and talk show with the anime seiyuus.


Kobato. DVD #7 will be released on July 23.

Thinking about it, I don’t think we’ve ever seen a good version of the first Box, have we?

XXXHOLiC new series CM

CLAMP-NET.COM posted a CM promoting the moving of XXXHOLiC to Bessatsu Shonen Magazine:

There’s a second version to be aired after the magazine is on sale, which has the same contents except for the “now on sale” addition at the end:

On other news, Kadokawa announced the second and final novel based on the Kobato. TV Anime. The novel will be titled Kobato. #2 – Only One Wish (こばと。 2 たったひとつの願い) with release date set to July 15.

Like the first installment, the novel will be written by Shiribuji Riu (後藤リウ) with illustrations by Madhouse.

And last but not least, today marks 7 years since the first chapter of Tsubasa was published in Weekly Shonen Magazine, the series that would later become CLAMP’s best-selling work. To celebrate the occasion, several events will be held in different cities around the world for the I Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE COMmeMORATiVE Day. Click here to see if your city is listed.

Follow up #2: XXXHOLiC #17 Sales Report, “Happy Memories” cover

In its third week of sales, XXXHOLiC #17 dropped 5 positions in Oricon’s ranking, landing at 13:

05/04~05/10

1st – Naruto #51
2nd – Nodame Cantabile #24
3rd – Katekyo Hitman REBORN! #29
13th – XXXHOLiC #17

According to Oricon, XXXHOLiC #17 sold 43.999 copies in its third week, a drop of 69% in comparison to the previous week. With that, the overall sales of XXXHOLiC #17 is currently 357.018 copies (regular edition only).
