The Card Captor Sakura Blythe doll designed by CLAMP last year will be put up for charity at website Crown Jewel from the period of June 1st to 15th. All funds will be given to Japan’s Red Cross to help the victims of the Touhouku Earthquake and Tsunami.
Card Captor Sakura:
Bandai Visual launched a hotsite for the release of the Card Captor Sakura movies in Blu-Ray. Somebody please correct that banner at the bottom of the page, it says CLMAP Official Website! XD
On other news, today is the birthday of CLAMP member Nanase Ohkawa (my favorite CLAMP member ♥)! She’s turning 44 today.
Here’s wishing all the best to her! ♥
They all had dinner at Ohkawa’s house to celebrate.
This time Nekoi hasn’t made any drawings =/
Update: a little late but Nekoi posted the drawing! =D
As usual I am impressed by Nekoi’s skills to draw CLAMP members xD
The event Irashai Fukushima was held this weekend in Fukushima to raise funds for the city, affected by the nuclear incident caused by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
12 mangakas held a sign session and others contributed with sign boards for charity.
CLAMP made a signed board with a Syaoran illustration:
The event’s official website mentions that CLAMP contributed with a CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan illustration, I wonder if it’s a mistake or there is a second illustration?
CLAMP members Nanase Ohkawa and Tsubaki Nekoi were seen at the event, although CLAMP did not perform a sign session.
Yay for CLAMP doing charity work \o/
On other news, Bandai Visual will release the two Card Captor Sakura movies in Blu-Ray format on August 26 for 6.300 yens each. The covers will feature new illustrations drawn by CLAMP (source).
Yay for new CCS illustrations \o/
The Sakura illustration CLAMP drew to help the victims affected by the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami is now available in Nico Nico Douga’s charity page. Members can also download a larger version of the illustration.
Not sure if many of you are registered to Nico Nico, therefore I have uploaded the image in large scale here.
CLAMP will also join a charity event organized by Animate called Smile Heart.
The event will be held on Sunday, April 10 at Ikebukuro, Tokyo, entrance is free of charge for everyone. CLAMP will provide an autographed GATE 7 colored panel for auction. All funds will be used to help victims of the Touhoku earthquake.
Other personalities and companies from the anime and manga industry will join the cause, you can check the complete list of volunteers here.
It’s really nice to see CLAMP helping the cause. Here’s hoping that these actions will help for a quick recovery of Japan.
The wallpaper featuring the illustration CLAMP did to raise funds for the victims of the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami is now available at Yahoo! Volunteer. Yahoo! users can purchase the wallpaper and help the cause.
Unfortunately it seems like it’s only available for Japan residents.
The video message created by CLAMP in collaboration with ARIKA’s Ichirou Mihara already received over 369.000 views on Nico Nico Douga a week after it was posted online.
On other news, the new background of the above mentioned Ichirou Mihara’s twitter was drawn by CLAMP!
CLAMP, will you draw my twitter background too? =D
Update: Larger versions of the above drawing can be found over at ARIKA’s website.
CLAMP wrote an open letter for the victims of the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11.
They also drew an illustration featuring Sakura from Card Captor Sakura, the illustration was made into a short video available at the japanese video-sharing website, Nico Nico Douga.
The video shows the illustration while playing Card Captor Sakura theme song, Platinum in the background. At the end of the video, Sakura’s original seiyuu, Sakura Tange, says “Zettai daijoubu dayo!” (Everything is gonna be alright!).
In the letter, CLAMP thanks Sakura Tange for lending her voice in the video, Flying Dog for giving them permission to use the song Platinum and Ichirou Mihara (from the ARIKA company), for making the animation and uploading it to Nico Nico Douga.
They said they chose Sakura because they thought it was appropriate for the message they wanted to pass on, which is to believe that everything is gonna be fine.
The letter also says that the illustration will become a wallpaper that will be available on April 6 for internet fundraising.
EDIT: You can download the video (FLV file) via MegaUpload and MediaFire (thanks syaoranmew)
