Wasn’t this chapter supposed to come with a color page? Maybe I misunderstood.

Another set of 10-pages for this chapter, the last one in case you didn’t know — 121 pages for the book release.

Lots of pretty drawings for the final pages:

This was shorter than I expected — but I am not complaining!

The book compilation will come out on October 17 and the limited first print will come with a DVD containing the Flash anime episodes released until then.

CLAMP and Kodansha are listing the book release as book compilation (単行本) instead of “volume 1”, which makes me think that, if this series is ever picked up again, it won’t be under the g-sword title, but rather a different subtitle.

But for now, we should consider this series done.

It appears that the book is not going to have the same length as regular manga books. For the 14 chapters that were released, there were roughly around 120 pages for them all. It’s likely that CLAMP will draw an extra story for it, but even so, it’ll hardly reach 180 pages.

All and all, I am glad that CLAMP didn’t put as much effort into it. The non-chibi illustrations were really nice, though!

This is hardly a fan favorite, but I appreciate your patience while following this series.

I wonder what series shall replace it now that CLAMP have some space in their schedule =)

HiGH&LOW g-sword serialization to end on August 9

The August 9th issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine is announcing that the serialization of HiGH&LOW g-sword has come to an end. Chapter 14, to be published on that issue, on sale August 9th, is going to be the final chapter.

The chapters that have been published will be compiled into a tankoubon to be released on October 17. A limited first edition with a DVD containing the flash anime episodes from the first and second arcs.

The message also implies that the serialization could resume at “some day”, but we should consider it done for the time being.

This wasn’t a very popular CLAMP series across the fans in general so let’s just hope this will allow CLAMP more time to work on their other series. Personally I am very happy that this wasn’t a very long series.

Kodansha will release a limited edition HiGH&LOW g-sword Goods Box with the following contents:

  • 2 acrylic stands, with new drawing by CLAMP (picture on the right);
  • 1 masking tape;
  • 1 ticket holder, with new drawing by CLAMP;
  • 6 postcards.

I’m assuming the postcards won’t feature new illustrations by CLAMP, considering nothing is mentioned about it. It will probably feature the few color illustrations that we’ve seen so far, including the postcard that came as an appendix in Weekly Shonen Magazine earlier this year.

HiGH&LOW g-sword Goods Box will be released on September 15 costing 2,980 yens.

Pre-order it at Amazon.jp | CD Japan.

And while we are at it, to promote the release of the film HiGH&LOW THE MOVIE 2 / END OF SKY, which opens on August 19 in Japanese cinemas, CLAMP recently drew the poster featuring the characters in chibi-style:
