Several News

We have several news today.

• Kobato.:

First off, here is the cover of Kobato. CHARACTERS COLLECTION, the Kobato. TV anime official guide book:


The book will be released on February 24 by Kadokawa.

The TV Anime series of Kobato. will be made into a novel series! Kadokawa is releasing the first one, entitled Kobato. #1 – The Girl Who Came From The Sky on April 15. The novels will be written by Shiribuji Riu (後藤リウ) with illustrations by Madhouse.

CLAMP-NET.COM reports about Episode 20, entitled “…People who travel”, being an original anime episode written by Nanase Ohkawa and adds that those characters that keep traveling will appear.

The episode will be aired on March 02.

My (and some people’s) suspicious about this episode were right, then =D

• XXXHOLiC:

OAD director Tsutomu Mizushima wrote in his official blog that production of the XXXHOLiC Rou OAD is now complete. Nanase Ohkawa posted a message in CLAMP-NET.COM saying that they have just received a copy of the DVD.

• ETC:

An article about CLAMP is carried in the “Me & My Blythe2” book, the second volume of a series about the culture of popular dolls known as Blythe. The article was written by Blythe‘s producer Junko Wong.

The book is currently on sale.


Sounds interesting! I’m really curious about what the producer of this popular phenomenon has to say about CLAMP.

CLAMP supports Sakai Yui

CLAMP presented Japanese female athlete Sakai Yui with an illustration as an act of supporting her participation in the Winter Olympic games that is currently taking place in Vancouver, Canada. Sakai Yui plays in the Short Track Speed Skating competition.

Apparently, Sakai Yui is a big fan of CLAMP and she used to go to the same Manual Therapy Center as CLAMP, they got to know each other through a mutual doctor from the clinic.

Sakai Yui talks about the illustration in her official blog.

You can check CLAMP’s messages of support in the Message section of CLAMP-NET.COM.

This is so cool! I thought it looked very much like her =D And that was a very nice gesture of CLAMP!

CLAMP draws “Happy Ko” (once again!)

A brand-new illustration drawn by CLAMP of the “Happy Ko” character was broadcast today in NHK’s kids show, Tensai TV-kun MAX:


The illustration above, that has the Winter as theme, was taken from the show’s official website. There’s also a message from CLAMP, they said because of the amount of fur in the costume, she won’t feel any cold (LOL!).

“Happy Ko” is a character played by one of the show’s young hostesses, Fujii Chiho, she presents the Girl’s Communication corner of the show.

This is the 3rd time that CLAMP draws “Happy Ko”. Check ou the previous two illustrations here and here.

CLAMP featured in PLUS MADHOUSE 04 Rintaro

The 4th issue of PLUS MADHOUSE magazine, a magazine focused in animation creators, is on sale and the current issue is centered on director Rintaro, reponsible for directing MADHOUSE’s anime movies “Metropolis” and “X”, among others.


CLAMP has collaborated for this issue with an illustration of Rintaro and a message for the director. Other artists who drew for Rintaro are character designers Nobuteru Yuki and Takuo Noda.

The magazine features information about Rintaro’s works, such as the movie version of X, and includes the director’s original storyboard for the movie.

The magazine is on sale since December 16.

Looks interesting! =) But I wonder if we’ll ever see this XD

“Kobato. Museum” report, Romantic World 31 pictures

Just a heads up that the official website of the Kobato. TV Anime added a report from the Kobato. Museum that is being held at the Ikebukuro Animate store until November 1st.

Check it out here. I like that new anime illustration right at the museum’s entrance with Kobato and Ushagi =)

Update: Jun Fukuyama updated his blog to include some pictures of his upcoming album Romantic World 31.

Among the pictures, it’s possible to see a new illustration drawn by CLAMP:

Romantic World 31 covers

As I reported previously, CLAMP would draw the art for voice actor Jun Fukuyama’s original album called Romantic World 31. The cover would be a collage between CLAMP’s art and Jun Fukuyama’s picture.

Today Jun Fukuyama posted on his official blog the album covers, check them out:

I really like them! But my favorite is the second. I loved the flying fishes *loves CLAMP’s flying fishes xD*

ALL ABOUT CLAMP cover, Kobato. press conference video

Amazon.co.jp has the front and back cover of the ALL ABOUT CLAMP book:


This is the book version of the CLAMP Newtype [PLATINUM] and [PASTEL] special magazines originally published in 2006, it carries information about all CLAMP works and also X 18.5.

This will be released on October 26.

What a disappointment. Not only the illustrations aren’t new, but the typography is also hideous xD

CLAMP draws “Happy Ko” (again)

A new illustration drawn by CLAMP of the “Happy Ko” character was broadcast today in NHK’s kids show, Ten TV-kun MAX (or whatever it’s called xD):


The illustration above was taken from the show’s official website. There’s also a message from CLAMP, they said that this time the clothes are matching the arrival of the Autumn.

“Happy Ko” is a character played by one of the show’s young hostesses, Fujii Chiho, she presents the Girl’s Communication corner of the show.

So cute! I’m glad it was a new drawing after all =)

The Kobato. anime starts today and has already aired in Japan! Who else is excited? \o/\o/\o/
