CLAMP will be in charge of drawing the cover and inside illustrations of children’s novel Majou Kan to Ayashii Kagaku Hakase (魔女館とあやしい科学博士), which can be roughly translated as The Witch’s Mansion and the Mysterious Science Doctor.
This is the 5th volume of The Witch’s Mansion series, all written by Tsukumo Youko with illustrations by CLAMP (Tsubaki Nekoi). The book will be released on March 17.
Thank you for the news as always! I hope there’s Kobato in April… *Crosses fingers*

CLAMP NEWS !!
Wow, I don’t think I’ve seen an update so light.
Wasn’t one of the team a little ill before Christmas? Maybe they’re a little behind shedule and aren’t sure of things too far ahead.

not particularly connected with the news but just something i remembered of when read about CLAMP doing the illustrations for the book.
It’s really old (back from 1994 and so) but do you know any specific information about them doing illustrations for NIGHT HEAD novels? Like for how many books they done it and why they stopped making them and such.
I managed to buy few of the novels and i was really surprised to find them being credited for the illustrations (even in the books where not even one illustration is published) i was even more surprised because i had no idea that the novels has such long history and that it was popular enough to get illustrations (or maybe CLAMP was not such a big name in that time). Anyway i’d really like to know more if possible.

I don’t have a very advanced knowledge in the subject except for that they did the illustrations for 2 volumes. I am not sure if those are the only 2 novels that exist. I read here (http://users.skynet.be/mangaguide/au228.html) that it should have 5 volumes? But CLAMP only worked on volumes 1 and 2.
I have never seen these illustrations. You say that you have some of the volumes? But they don’t have any CLAMP drawings? How sad.
CLAMP-NET.COM says that CLAMP did illustrations and the binding for volumes 1 and 2.

i might have mentioned in the past that i’m not such huge CLAMP fan so the fact is not so depressing for me. But i do prefer their old art which is in the novels as well so shortage of that is sad.
I bought the book for the story anyway, but is till find it funny that CLAMP is credited for design in all the books i have (4 of them). But if you say they done the binding as well, maybe that is what they’re credited for since the style of binding is the same for all 4 books (but definitely not something that CLAMP would do normally; drop the “normally” – that just isn’t CLAMP;so i’m kind of confused o.O)

Well, if it’s not too much to ask, if you could scan the illustrations, or even easier, if you could take pictures of them, I can take a look at them. I’ve never seen them and I’ve always been curious about them.
It is intriguing that CLAMP-NET.COM doesn’t mention the other 3 volumes, when they ARE credited in the books.

well i can’t say that for vol. 5 (since i do not have the book) and vol. 3 (i looked again and for some reason i can’t find the credit anymore o.O) but its definitely in vol. 4 under “basic design: CLAMP Co; LTD.” its in romanji so there is no mistake in that.
And yes i will scan the illustrations, it was one of my first intentions as well after i found out what the book is hiding inside, but my computer crushed before i went to Japan and i have yet to fix it in other words i can’t use my computer even less my scanner so it’ll take some time before i upload them. To bad though, it seems liek all the pictures where in color originally but are B&W in the book D:

Oh thank you so much! Take your time, just as long as you don’t forget, it’s fine xD
Maybe they did the design for volumes 1 and 2 and it was reproduced for the remaining volumes, and thus they are credited as well?
Anyway, curious to check those out =)

Yup, just two more chapters =D Is it too much to ask for color pages to celebrate the occasion?
