XXXHOLiC news

Here is the cover of XXXHOLiC #17, taken from today’s update of CLAMP-NET.COM:

XXXHOLiC #17 will be released along with the OAD limited edition on April 23.

To both celebrate and promote the moving of XXXHOLiC to Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, there will be some special chapters to be published in Kodansha’s shonen magazines.

On May 19, there will be a XXXHOLiC oneshot published in Weekly Shonen Magazine #25.
On May 20, there will be a new Holitsuba story published in Magazine SPECIAL.
And finally on June 9, the beginning of XXXHOLiC’s new serialiation in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, with color pages and XXXHOLiC featuring the magazine’s cover.

For all 3 magazines listed above, there is going to be a QUO-Card service featuring a CLAMP illustration published in it.

This is Kodansha’s strategy to promote the moving of XXXHOLiC, at least now we know we won’t be so XXXHOLiC-less until the serialization restarts.

Kobato. TV Anime Official Guide Book HAPPY MEMORIES

Kadokawa lists an official guide book for the Kobato. TV Anime series entitled Kobato. TV Anime Official Guide Book HAPPY MEMORIES to be released on May 18.

Among its contents, the guide will cover all 24 episodes of the series with illustrations and summaries.

7 years without X

Today marks the 7th anniversary of X’s hiatus. 7 years ago, the last chapter of X was being published in ASUKA magazine, after that, the series went on a hiatus that remain until this day.

If you have twitter and want to moan over, come and join us in our (pointless) cause, tweet anything using the hashtag #CLAMPWeWantANewXChapterNow. Since it’s 7 years, the idea is to make 7 tweets, but feel free to do as much as you like xD

Do we intend to get X back by doing so? No.
Do we intend to get into Twitter’s trending topics? Hell no.
Then why doing it? Because it’s fun =D

The idea came last week when I was talking to flowright about 7 years without X and we thought “let’s do 7 tweets of silence on twitter!”, but you can’t obviously do “silence” tweets so instead we came up with that hashtag xD

It’s really just for entertaining purposes, no greater intentions =)

You can check on real time everyone’s manifestation here.

XXXHOLiC to be moved to Bessatsu Shonen Magazine

The latest issue of Young Magazine announced that the serialization of XXXHOLiC will be moved to Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine.

Bessatsu Shonen Magazine is a monthly publication that started in September, 2009. The first chapter of XXXHOLiC in its new home will be published in the July issue, which is out on June 9. The chapter will have color pages (beginning of tankoubon 18) and XXXHOLiC will feature the magazine’s front cover (first time that ever happens with XXXHOLiC since the covers of Young Magazine always feature a female model xD).

Here is a scan of the announcement taken from the latest Young Magazine issue:

This means, of course, that XXXHOLiC chapters will be now published monthly.

I remember reading that the only reason CLAMP went for weekly publication with Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC was due to the links between the two series, so now that Tsubasa is over and XXXHOLiC is walking on its own, I can understand why they decided to go monthly (but I must admit I didn’t expect that!). It could also be an attempt to help boost the sales of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. Looking at the other series that are serialized in the magazine, XXXHOLiC is by far the most popular one.

Now CLAMP is back to the monthly publications. Personally I like that, I’ve missed it =) I think monthly publications are juicer.

Special thanks to cutesherry for posting this news over at the clamp_now community!

And one small news, CLAMP-NET.COM updated with news that Mokona’s recommendations will be published in the 4 novels Rean no Tsubasa (The Wings of Rean). The original conpcet of Rean no Tsubasa was made by the creator of Gundam, Yoshiyuki Tomino. The books will be out on March 24.

The preview screening of the XXXHOLiC Rou OAD took place yesterday in Shibuya, Tokyo. 200 people were selected by lottery to attend the screening (pre-ordering the OAD was one of the conditions to participate in the lottery).

CLAMP made a secret appearance at the event (they weren’t scheduled in the first place). Other guests included director Tsutomu Mizushima, Sayaka Ohara (Yuuko’s seiyuu), Jun Fukuyama (Watanuki’s seiyuu) and Kazuya Nakai (Doumeki’s seiyuu).

Help Chile

In view of the earthquake that has hit Chile on February 27 and its devastating consequences, I was requested by ariadnechan to contribute with means of helping Chile.

Above is a link to the official LiveJournal community, help_chile, an initiative to gather funds to help in the rescues, recoveries and rebuilding of Chile. You can help by direct donation or if you’re an artists you can use your work to help raising funds.

If you write fanfictions, draw fanarts, make wallpapers or graphics, make fanmixes or anything that could be useful to raise money to help Chile, ten sig un in this entry! this is very similar to help_haiti. Every artist decide how many donations can give and he/she has a place in help_chile to the auction of his/hers pieces of arts. You just sign up and tell everyone you know about it, and then the people do the rest of the job!

You can also donate directly through Unicef’s website and LiveJournal has released a virtual gift to help the cause that can be bought in their online shop.

Any kind of help is highly appreciated. Here’s hoping that those affected by this tragic incident may have some comfort.
