On its first week of release, Tsubasa – WoRLD CHRoNiCLE – Nirai Kanai hen #2 debuted at the 16th position in Oricon’s weekly comic ranking, with 55.809 copies sold.

That is both very low position and very low sales numbers, however we must take into consideration the fact that these numbers reflect only for 3 days of sale (the release was on October 16 and the ranking goes from Oct. 12~18). We might have better overall numbers by the next week.

Also, these numbers are only for the regular edition. Numbers for the Blu-ray limited edition are unknown, however, they must be lower than 26.700 copies since they didn’t appear in the top 30 ranking.

For comparison’s sake, volume 1 sold 127.643 copies after 6 days on sale.

In case Tsubasa shows up again next week in Oricon’s ranking, I’ll post here about its performance.

On its second week of release, Tsubasa – WoRLD CHRoNiCLE – Nirai Kanai hen #1 dropped to the 19th position in Oricon’s weekly comic ranking, with 56.614 copies sold. The overall sales so far is of 184.257 copies in two weeks.

These numbers are only for the regular edition. Numbers for the Blu-ray limited edition are unknown.

Since Oricon began tracking comic sales (around 2008), this is the second worst second-week sales for a Tsubasa volume  only behind volume 25 of Tsubasa – RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE –, with 54,370 copies, and the worst overall numbers for a Tsubasa volume after two weeks of release.

I’m not positive that Tsubasa will show up for a third week in Oricon’s ranking, but if that turn out to be the case, I’ll let you know.

On its first week of release, Tsubasa – WoRLD CHRoNiCLE – Nirai Kanai hen #1 debuted at the 6th position in Oricon’s weekly comic ranking, with 127.643 copies sold.

These numbers are only for the regular edition. Numbers for the Blu-ray limited edition are unknown.

For comparison’s sake, volume 28 of Tsubasa – RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE – sold 195.137 copies on its first week, while volume 27 sold 99.997 copies.

A very shy comeback for Tsubasa, I would say. Even shyer than the performance of XXXHOLiC Rei, which was already dropping by each volume (you can check a full report here).

In case Tsubasa shows up again next week in Oricon’s ranking, I’ll post here about its performance.

On its third week of release, XXXHOLiC Rei #3 fell to position 21 in Oricon’s weekly comic ranking, with 29.633 copies sold, making the overall sales up to 260.550 copies.

Always worth mentioning that these numbers are only for the regular edition. Numbers for the PLAYBUTTON limited edition are unknown.

In case XXXHOLiC Rei #3 shows up again next week in Oricon’s ranking, I’ll post here about its performance.

Follow-up: GATE 7 #4 sales report, XXXHOLiC news

GATE 7 #4 dropped to the 18th position on Oricon's Weekly Charts on its second week of sales, the position that was occupied by Drug & Drop last week:

02/11/2013~02/17/2013:

1st – FAIRY TAIL #36
2nd – Kuroko no Basket #21
3rd – WORST #31
18th – GATE 7 #4

Unfortunately, Drug & Drop didn't show up in the top 30.

According to Oricon, GATE 7 #4 sold additional 33.923 copies on its second week of sales, which means an accumulated of 173.686 copies sold so far.

It is unlikely that GATE 7 #4 will show up on next week's ranking, but I'll make a post if that happens.

On other news, there was a press conference held at the XXXHOLiC theme cafe yesterday to release the TV Drama adaptation to the press. Director Keisuke Toyoshima and main cast Anne (Yuuko) and Sometani Shota (Watanuki) attended the event.

There are several reports from that press conference on the web, here are a few of them:

Drug & Drop #1, GATE 7 #4 sales report (Updated)

It's been 10 days since the joint release of Drug & Drop #1 and GATE 7 #4, the former landed on the 18th position of Weekly Oricon charts while the latter appeared on the 5th spot.

02/04/2013~02/10/2013:

1st – Kuroko no Basket #21
2nd – Toriko #23
3rd – Gintama #48
5th – GATE 7 #4
18th – Drug & Drop #1

Moreover, GATE 7 #4 sold 139.763 copies in its first week of sales, which represents a growth of 6,4% in comparison to the previous volume. This is the highest-selling first week for a GATE 7 volume so far.

Drug & Drop #1 sold 42.474 copies on its first second week of sales, which is around the same amount of copies that Kobato. #6 (final volume) sold in its first week of sales.

GATE 7 seems to be growing steadily on sales, while Drug & Drop started shy, but not a bad start. It is worth mentioning that Oricon lists Drug & Drop #1 as previously appearing on the 15th postion, that's probably taking into account pre-sales and stores that sold it shortly before the original release date.

Update: One correction in Drug & Drop #1 sales, the actual number of accumulated sales is 70.500 copies so far. That is because this is the second week of sales, having sold 28.026 copies in its first week. That's definitely good news!

I'll keep an eye open for next week's ranking, hopefully GATE 7 will make another appearance.
