No big news except for updates on the schedules of Kobato. and XXXHOLiC:

Kobato. gets page increase in Newtype

According to this blogger, the Kobato. manga is getting an increase in number of pages per chapter in Newtype magazine starting from the current issue.

This month’s Kobato. chapter had 24 pages instead of the usual 14. Future chapters will follow the new page count.

That’s great news! Apparently our prays have been heard! =D I’m very happy that Newtype allowed a few more pages for CLAMP (Kobato. needed it). Hopefully this will mean quicker tankoubon releases and provide a better development to the story.

Peter Pan & Wendy by CLAMP sneak peek, XXXHOLiC Event (Updated)

You can read the first 20 pages of Peter Pan & Wendy (illustrated by CLAMP) in Kodansha’s website (click on the cover). There are 3 black and white illustrations by CLAMP in the preview.

Update: To those interested, the book can be purchased via Yesasia.com.

In other news, there is a XXXHOLiC event going on in Akihabara that will run until the 14th at Dear Stage to celebrate the DVD Boxes releases.

Episodes from the XXXHOLiC TV series are being screened and a Gallery showing the production process of the DVD Boxes is being held.

The shop is decorated with XXXHOLiC theme and its employees are wearing XXXHOLiC costumes. Also, food and drinks similar to those featured in the XXXHOLiC anime will be on sale.

CLAMP@MOBiLE official twitter, new Kobato. illustration

CLAMP@MOBiLE has launched its official twitter account: @CLAMP_news

This twitter will be used to announce the latest CLAMP news while two other accounts will be created soon: @CLAMP_mokonaW, with random tweets of White Mokona’s lines from Tsubasa, and @CLAMP_mokonaB, with random tweets of Black Mokona’s lines from XXXHOLiC. These two accounts are yet to be launched.

CLAMP finally surrenders to twitter!!! =D Of course the updates will not be made by CLAMP members themselves (for that they will be using the Message feature of CLAMP-NET.COM), but it’s still nice to see official CLAMP updates in your twitter timeline =)

In other news, there will be a new Kobato. illustration in the January issue of Newtype magazine. The illustration will be featured in Newtype’s 2011 calendar that will come as an appendix in the next issue, on sale December 10.

CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011: further information

More information about the CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 event has been revealed by Comic Natalie.

The first event, to be held on February 5, will be an exhibition of CLAMP’s original colored artworks of Tsubasa, XXXHOLiC, Kobato. and the new work GATE7. Original goods will also be sold at the event. The entrance will be exclusive to members of CLAMP’s mobile service, CLAMP@MOBiLE (entrance is free of charge).

The second event, also known as “Special Event”, to be held on February 6, will be an early screening of XXXHOLiC Rou Adayume, the upcoming OAD of XXXHOLiC. After that there will be a talk show with the 4 members of CLAMP. This “Special Event” will be closed to 200 members of CLAMP@MOBiLE who will be selected by lottery (applications are currently open and will be until Dec. 20).

Both events will take place at the aMLUX Tokyo in Ikebukuro.

I’m particularly happy that there is going to be a CLAMP talk show. It’s been a long time since the ladies appeared to fans. Here’s hoping that interesting things will be discussed in the talk show!

Peter Pan & Wendy cover (by CLAMP)

Kodansha has the cover of the pocket edition version of Peter Pan & Wendy drawn by CLAMP:

The cover was taken from a puzzle game available at the Aoi Tori website. You can play it here if you want xD

CLAMP’s Peter Pan has belts in his clothes and Tinker Bell looks like Primera =) Clearly a Nekoi work here 😉

Apart from the cover, CLAMP was also in charge of drawing the inside illustrations.

The book will be released on November 17.

Follow up #2: XXXHOLiC #18 Sales Report

Sorry to cut all the GATE7 spree, but CLAMP has another work called XXXHOLiC in case you have forgotten (haha, joking!).

In its third week of sales, XXXHOLiC #18 dropped 10 positions on Oricon’s ranking and landed at position 14:

• Oricon Weekly Ranking:

10/26~11/02

1st – Garasu no Kamen #46
2nd – Kyo, Koi wo Hajimemasu #10
3rd – Arakawa Under the Bridge #11
14th – XXXHOLiC #18

And now the numbers! According to Oricon, 50.798 copies of XXXHOLiC #18 were sold in its third week. The overall total sales jumps to 364.902 copies. XXXHOLiC #18 sold more copies in its third week of sales in comparison to the previous volume (50.798 versus 43.999 of volume 17) and the total number of sales is also bigger in comparison to the same period of time for volume 17 (364.902 against 357.018 of volume 17).

XXXHOLiC is holding very well! Once again congrats to CLAMP!
