TRC 200 + XXXHOLiC 166 !

I hope it isn’t too late to comment on those? xD

Either way, cleaned scans are available at The Room of Requirement

I will be short, because it’s been some time since these were released.

I haven’t read the spoilers for the upcoming chapter of Tsubasa because I don’t want them to affect my impression ^^”

Tsubasa:

– Chapter 200! But too bad CLAMP didn’t do a perfect math here xD It looks like an ordinary chapter. Oh well…

– The splash page is so suggestive. I wonder how faithful to the plot the editor’s captions can be…

– Here we have CLAMP, through Syaoran, justifying Syaoran’s desire to protect Sakura above all. He says he was just a kid and that he didn’t know its true meaning back then, but I still find Syaoran’s actions, being just a kid, very difficult to understand. You could just say it’s part of his “nature”, how Syaoran went to live in Japan by himself in CCS to search for the Clow cards. But then again, this isn’t Syaoran, it’s his son, and Japan is quite near China, it’s not a different world xD

– Do the people at Clow country come of age with 14 years old? xD

– Wow, that was quick. The seal, I mean. This sort of reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, like they (Syaoran and Sakura’s parents) all knew that in her birthday she would sort of “die”, and yet they couldn’t do anything to prevent that.

– NADESHIKO! XD She stopped time, she f*cking rules! So this is how she dies ;__;

– Okay so now Syaoran thinks he could have changed things if he had hold Sakura’s hand back when the seal was cast on her. But how can he be so sure of that? This is just what Fei Wang wants him to think. And indeed, here we have Fei Wang offering Syaoran to send him back in time.

– But wasn’t Yuuko the one who rewound Syaoran’s time? Actually if I remember correctly that was the price, not the wish itself? The wish was to “bring the Sakura from that day back”, I think…

– I see what Fei Wang is trying to do here, if he kills Sakura, Syaoran would want to revive her too, just like Fei Wang wants to revive someone. That way, their wishes become the same. Not sure how this will help him in his plans but I gotta say, this is very ingenious.

XXXHOLiC:

– Ehhhh? The woman thinks is disgusting to eat what you’ve made it yourself? What a freak O.o If she’s so disgusted of herself, does that mean she hasn’t been a very good person?

– I am amazed by Doumeki’s eating skills xD He can tell if the person who cooked the food lives in a hot or cold place? Oh my xD

– So Watanuki’s “body” remembers everything about him. And what’s with “Watanuki must keep going”? When will he finally arrive? xD

  1. XD Doumeki’s eating skills are indeed amazing XD

I found Tsubasa 200 really satisfying in a strange way. That last page really made me go “oh ho ho!” Things are getting interesting… Poor Nadeshiko though 😦

  2. Good thing you didn’t read chapter201 spoilers, really…

I share your opinion: Syaoran’s decisions, even being a kid or whatever, are hard to follow especially considering the terrible consequences every single one of his choices led him to; and again, while he seems to care for Sakura, it *still* strangely doesn’t look like romantic feelings to me.

Now, I am going to say something REALLY terrible, but after following TRC for several years now, and seeing how things are turning out, I will say it: is Sakura really worth all this?
So many people died, others got their lives and fates completely screwed, no matter what happened when the time was rewind, both her parents disappeared in the process and ‘Syaoran’s’ life, even though it was his own choice, got completely turned around and his parents CCS|SxS suffers from their child’s choices too…Many people got hurt protecting Sakura too.
Apart from her being so cute, so sweet, so kind, so charming etc etc, did her existence had any positive income in the series at all? o__O

    • I too have thought that. While I ship S/S hardcore, it looks like these two in this story are NOT lovers, which is all kinds of twisted and messed up that even if Sakura and ‘Syaoran’ manage to come out of this alive, they’re not meant for each other.

      • AAaahhh~
        Finally someone agreeing with me!
I, too, have been an hardcore SxS fans for like a million years (and still am), but no matter how I look at those two or how cute they were shown in those latest flashback, they really are at light-years from CCS|SxS romance and also, from all the hints thrown here and there in the manga, it doesn’t feel like those two will have a ‘happy ending’…which means the clone *might* still have a ‘chance’?
I have no doubt the princess loves him, nor do I doubt she is very special to him, but I’m not expecting them to end up as a couple in the end. At least, not from what I saw until now in the manga.
Will new information changes my views? Only Clamp can tell…

        • That and the whole thing that Princess Sakura is meant for a Syaoran, not just a look-alike….Sakura and Syaoran’s son “_______” =/= Syoaran since Princess Sakura is Clow Country’s verison of CCS Sakura.

          • Well, the Clow Princess’s name is not ‘Sakura’, so this reason is unfortunately not valid…

And both ‘Sakura’s’ parents (King Fujitaka and Queen Nadeshiko), both said they were a destined encounter…
I just don’t think it’s a romantic destined encounter, more like that meeting each other changed their fates, which is a very well known theme that came by often in both TRC and Holic (about how ‘meetings’ changes your future).

      • Exactly ¬___¬

I think Clamp might have overestimated the fans’ love for ‘Sakura’, from the CCS days…a shonen manga is certainly not supposed to focus so much on ‘the girl’ (except if it’s the ecchi type of shonen of course, but TRC is not)and I’ve been fed so much Sakura Sakura Sakura that I’m getting beyond upset now 😦

As of now, no Clamp manga disappointed me (the ones they actually finished that is), I can just hope that, somehow, things will make sens in the end and there might be one more brain blowing revelation that might change everything? (actually, I’m saying this but I don’t even dare to hope anymore)

I feel like shouting :”Just let her die, dammit!!!”

But isn’t that enough to create a manga? /sarcasm

      • Well, no matter how hard I think about it, Sakura, as a character, really didn’t do much in this series: there were people throwing her flowers in Tokyo and Infinity, when she got this badass attitude and how she was all bloody, using a gun, glaring and dark gothic lolita looks. But it was only her acting to the change the future and, anyway, ‘that’ Sakura (the clone) is dead.
There were also the part on which she encouraged and supported Fye, which was sweet and everything (but that was the deceased clone Sakura too).

All the original princess Sakura, all smiling all sweet and all nice, ever brought are conflicts and despair.
Clamp would have to come up with one Hell of a good ‘use’ of this Sakura to justify how much blood was spilled for her sake.

  3. So are we finally going to see how Clow ended up in the picture way back when the story started? Poor Nadeshiko… but stopping time! She’s amazing.

You know, I always thought it was curious that Touya, in chapter 33, always referred to Clow as the previous king rather than his father. Perhaps he inherently knew that Clow wasn’t his father? But before we found out our Sakura was a clone, she called Clow her father, so I dismissed it. But then, she was a clone, so maybe she knew that the reality where Clow was her father was false along with her own existence? Or maybe her understanding of reality is based on the true Sakura being cloned at the beginning of Tsubasa… *too mind-boggling*

  4. i dont get what nadeshiko was trying to do stopping time… if it only lasts for a few moments, what did she expect syaoran to do, pull her out of the black spikey curse? all he could do was regret not taking her hand. there should have been a plan!

    p.s. thanx for the scans!

    • omg, i just thought…(it has nothing to do with the latest chapters and may have been thoughtof already) what if watanuki= young clow, and syaoran says:”dont dissapear!” because if clow dissapears then syaoran, who is a distant (future) relative may not exist too? LOLrandom

  6. I have an affection for xxxHOLiC 166, for I tried cleaning it. :> Anywhoo:

    > Ehhhh? The woman thinks is disgusting to eat what you’ve made it yourself? What a freak O.o If she’s so disgusted of herself, does that mean she hasn’t been a very good person?

I can get so outraged by the Yuuko’s customers sometimes. She’s disgusted at eating her own food, but she doesn’t mind feeding it to her husband to-be? How does that even make sense?

    > I am amazed by Doumeki’s eating skills xD He can tell if the person who cooked the food lives in a hot or cold place? Oh my xD

He just made me fall in love with him all over again. *swoons* But rest assured, Watanuki stays on top, as he’s the one who cooks. :>

    > So Watanuki’s “body” remembers everything about him. And what’s with “Watanuki must keep going”? When will he finally arrive? xD

That’s a very good question actually, but here’s another: where’s he headed? To think, this all started with a simple wish of not wanting to see spirits/ghosts/whatever those creatures were that were tormenting my poor Watanuki.
