XXXHOLiC◆Kei Event – First Report

The XXXHOLiC◆Kei event was held this Saturday at the LOFT/PLUS ONE talk live house, in Tokyo. My friend (and japanese correspondent xD) Yoshiyuki was there and he gave me a general idea of what happened at the event.

He also did a great move and recorded the audio of most of it, it’s all behind the cut.

XXXHOLiC◆Kei Event report

XXXHOLiC Drama CD

From the next Young Magazine issue, which will be out tomorrow in Japan, comes a very exciting XXXHOLiC announcement!

XXXHOLiC #13 will be released on June 23rd and there will be a special limited edition with a Drama CD.

There will be two versions, one with script written by Ryukishi07 and another written by CLAMP’s Nanase Ohkawa. The CD will also come with a mini after-recording script book. The price of this limited version will be 2660 yens.

I still don’t know if both versions, Ryukishi07’s and Ohkawa’s, will come in a single CD or if they’ll come separated, I guess it’s the latter.

Ryukishi07 is the author of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, his first public collaboration with Ohkawa was in an interview they both did for Chara☆Mel magazine in September, 2007 (refresh your memory here).

This is very nice news, this will surely boost even more the sales of XXXHOLiC #13 (what’s with the anime coming, even more then). And this partnership between Ohkawa and Ryukishi07 is very juicy, I’m sure this idea was born during that interview for Chara☆Mel, which is why I think when we’re dealing with CLAMP, every sort of collaboration, as simple as it might look, should be seen as a foreshadowing information. Even if it’s only, for example, an innocent comment on the obi of Youkai no Oisha-san #4 (refresh your memory here). Who knows what kind of collaboration might be born out of this? xD

Another interesting thing that should be noticed is their names. Ryukishi07, or Ryukishi Zero Nana, and Nanase Ohkawa. Hummm.

Could this be part of the “big project” Takuya Matsushita mentioned in his Column last month?

EDIT: This is an advertising that came with Tsubasa #23 about the Drama CD:

The caption says “Collaboration”? No problem, this is a single “event”.

Kobato. #2 cover

Kadokawa added in their official website the cover of Kobato. #2:

Very pretty, isn’t it? I like it better than the 1st one.

I think we can assume that the tankoubon cover will most likely feature illustrations that appeared for the first time in a Newtype cover.

Kobato. #2 will be released on April 26.

EDIT: And since we are in the subject, su_chan has found a scan of this month’s Kobato. News!!, published in Newtype magazine, where we can see a preview of the CLAMP in 3-D LAND 6th Series package. You can check it in this post.

A pack of news

Because I’m a gentleman, ladies first xD

• CLAMP in CARDLAND:

Here it is, finally, the Point Card of CLAMP in CARDLAND 2nd Series, “uncensored” version:

I am slightly disappointed with it, to tell you the truth. I think it’s the painting, it bothers me a little this CG, specially when I know copics would give it a much more magical feeling to it. But of course I liked it *drools*

Nonetheless, it’s so nice to see the Rayearth girls again, Umi looks particularly gorgeous makes me wanna marry her. Tokyo Tower needs more attention, period. xD

This picture is here thanks to our always-so-nice fellows of Yahoo Auctions. More pictures should be added later in this link (as other fellows get their hands on this card).

• Code Geass:

The NEWS BOARD section of CLAMP-NET.COM was updated today to announce that CLAMP will be in charge of the drawings for the Ending sequence of Code Geass R2. This news was first announced, however, in this month’s Newtype magazine. You can view a scan of the article in this link, via , of course!

I find that absolutely great! The more CLAMP gets involved, the better. I can’t wait to check out this ED!

Moreover, it was announced that group ORANGE RANGE will sing both the Opening and Ending Themes. The song titles of the Opening and Ending Themes will be O2 and Shiawase Neiro, respectively.

Code Geass R2 starts on April 6th.

• Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations:

The official website of Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations has been updated one last time before the release of its final chapter, there’s a new background illustration and a new diary entry (nothing revealing on the latter).

Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations #3 comes out next Monday, on March 17.

XXXHOLiC◆Kei Ending Theme

The official website of singer SEAMO has announced that Honey Honey feat. AYUSE KOZUE will be the song title of XXXHOLiC◆Kei’s ending theme.

This song was originally released in 2005 by SEAMO himself in his DRIVE single, the difference of this remake is that this time it will feature pop/R&B singer Ayuse Kozue.

You can hear the original Honey Honey here.

My lady! xD

The release date has yet to be announced.

XXXHOLiC◆Kei News

• I found this scan while surfing on 2ch where we can see a first look of the Spider Lady:

The article is from one of this month’s anime magazines, I’m not sure which one, that will be released on the next few days.

It reveals that the first episode starts from the Spider Lady arc (as expected, considering the end of season 1 and the order of events of the manga). Still regarding Spider Lady’s character, the article states that her voice will be played by seiyuu Yumi Touma (Spinel in CCS). Her profile is huuuuuge, she has worked on a thousand animes, I’m sure she’ll do great!!

In addition, the article says that XXXHOLiC◆Kei Ending Theme will be performed by rapper SEAMO. He has a single coming out in May called MOTHER, could it be that song? Neither the article nor his official website mention anything about the title, though.

• XXXHOLiC◆Kei will be one of the features of this year’s Tokyo Anime Fair. XXXHOLiC’s event will take place on the last day of the event, March 30, with director Tsutomu Mizushima and cast talking about the new season and a screening of an exclusive promotional video of it. I’ll check with Yoshiyuki-kun if he can go xD

XXXHOLiC◆Kei premieres April 4 on TBS.

Oh, and by the way, there’s “Nanase Ohkawa” all over now, on official websites and magazines xD

The Dream Seen by the Princess screencaps

The official website of Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations has been updated yet again (probably its last revealing update) to reveal screencaps of the 3rd and final installment of the OAD series.

There’s also a new (and very beautiful) background illustration.

Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations – The Dream Seen by the Princess comes out next March 17.
