CLAMP NEWS !!

So many news!!

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

07/04 – Jump SQ #08 – Chapter 5.
08/04 – Jump SQ #09 – Chapter 6.
09/04 – Jump SQ #10 – Chapter 7 – Color page(s).

• Comic:

Here is the cover of Kobato. #6:

I love it! I think it’s my favorite cover! It screams HAPPINESS =D

It will be released on August 26.

• Feature:

To celebrate the series’ conclusion, there is going to be a large feature in the upcoming Newtype issue (out 08/10). Also, information about a new CLAMP series will be announced in the same issue! A campaign will be followed as well (but I don’t know if the campaign will be related to Kobato. or the new series).

So excited about this new series! Could be the revival of an old series as well (it’s alright to hope!). I don’t think it’ll be running in Newtype, though. They will most likely make the announcement to hook all Kobato. readers into this new series. I think it’ll run in a different Kadokawa magazine. Anyway, it was about time for CLAMP to work on another manga apart from GATE 7!

• Book:

Here is the cover of the XXXHOLiC POST CARD BOOK:

I REALLY liked it! Even though there is little CLAMP illustration on it, I loved the design! I wonder if it was designed by CLAMP…

This postcard book will have illustrations from the covers and title pages of all 19 volumes of XXXHOLiC. It will be released on September 6.

• BLOOD-C DVD & Blu-ray:

The official BLOOD-C website has updated with the cover of the limited edition of the 1st DVD/Blu-ray. The jacket features a new illustration drawn by CLAMP!

It will be released on September 28.

The limited first editions of all 6 DVDs/Blu-rays will have jackets illustrated by CLAMP. Check out the release calendar for them at the CLAMP Widget at the top of my livejournal.

• BLOOD-C Manga:

• BLOOD-C in Newtype:

The upcoming Newtype issue (out 08/10) will be a BLOOD-C special issue.

The magazine will have:

– Cover illustration drawn by CLAMP;
– Special talk between director Tsutomu Mizushima and Nanase Ohkawa about the birth and future of BLOOD-C;
– Inside stories;
– Interview with Nana Mizuki (Saya’s seiyuu);
– After recording reports.

• Featuring CLAMP:

CLAMP drew an illustration and wrote comments for the current Young Magazine that is celebrating the 500th chapter of Fukumoto Nobuyuki’s gambling manga Kaiji:

• CLAMP FESTIVAL 2011 TOKYO:

Idol Nakagawa Shouko (aka Shouko-tan) has been added to the festival’s line up as a special guest.

BLOOD-C #2, more

Impressions (spoilers ahead):

– Seriously, Ohkawa, almost an entire episode about cute songs and food? BORINGGGG! Give me some PLOT!

– That cafe dude Fumito looks suspicious…

– The Motoe twins are adorable! They’re my favorite characters so far =)

– Their school uniform doesn’t match the school or the city at all. I mean, the uniform is very dark, with chains and dark colors, while the town looks bright and so peaceful… it looks rather off (why would such a school have such a uniform?)

– The town where the story takes place is weird, there is only one establishment for each thing and like they said, it looks abandoned. The fact that they mention that sort of thing makes it looks very suspicious, as if it’s a relevant information (otherwise there would be no need to mention it). It’s as if the town doesn’t exist for real…

– Bizarre creatures: SO unappealing. I wonder if the “C” in BLOOD-C stands for Creatures? Where are the vampires? O.o

• GATE 7:

CLAMP drew a new GATE 7 illustration for a poster that came with the debut issue of Shueisha’s semi-annual magazine JUMP SQ. LaB that went on sale on July 15:

• XXXHOLiC:

Kodansha has finally announced a release date for XXXHOLiC’s post card book. It was first slated for May, but a release date was never announced until now. The book will be called XXXHOLiC POST CARD BOOK and will be released on September 6. Price is still undecided.

An artbook for XXXHOLiC is also slated to be released soon but there’s no release date yet.

CLAMP aid for Touhoku earthquake update (Updated)

The wallpaper featuring the illustration CLAMP did to raise funds for the victims of the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami is now available at Yahoo! Volunteer. Yahoo! users can purchase the wallpaper and help the cause.

Unfortunately it seems like it’s only available for Japan residents.

The video message created by CLAMP in collaboration with ARIKA’s Ichirou Mihara already received over 369.000 views on Nico Nico Douga a week after it was posted online.

On other news, the new background of the above mentioned Ichirou Mihara’s twitter was drawn by CLAMP!

CLAMP, will you draw my twitter background too? =D

CLAMP to be guest artist in F.S.S. 25th Anniversary SPECIAL ISSUE (Updated)

This month’s issue of Newtype magazine comes with an appendix cellebrating the 25th anniversary of Five Stars Stories (also known as Five Stars Monogatari).

The appendix is entitled F.S.S. 25th Anniversary SPECIAL ISSUE and will have illustrations from several guest artists, including CLAMP.

This month’s issue of Newtype magazine goes on sale today.

New CLAMP x Blythe Collaboration

The official Blythe website confirms that a new doll in collaboration with CLAMP will be released in the fall:

The latter half the year, in the fall, we are planning a collaboration doll with super popular manga group, “CLAMP”!

My guess is the Yuuko doll that was announced at the CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 event.

It looks like this doll will be available for purchase? Unlike the Sakura and Watanuki ones which were only made for the charity event.

CLAMP NEWS !!

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

02/04 – Jump SQ #03 – Chapter 1 – Color pages, GATE7 will feature the magazine cover.
03/04 – Jump SQ #04 – Chapter 2 – Color pages.
04/04 – Jump SQ #05 – Chapter 3.

It’s worth mentioning that CLAMP considers this Chapter as Chapter 1. According to the french publisher KAZE, which published the GATE7 oneshot in France, the oneshot won’t be carried in the tankoubon.

Also, loving all the color pages =) And check out the GATE7 page at CLAMP-NET.COM.

• TV Appearance:

GATE7 will be featured in the TV show Saki-yomi Jan BANG!, the show airs every week on TV Tokyo and is centered to Shueisha’s Jump magazine and manga brand.

GATE7’s segment will air on the February 4 episode.

CLAMP-NET.COM mentions that the show will feature both CLAMP and GATE7. Will CLAMP members make an appearance as well? I hope so!

XXXHOLiC Rou Adayume OAD news, plus

The official website of the XXXHOLiC Rou Adayume OAD was updated to inform that the after-recording sessions have ended. According to the website, the new OAD will cover the episode of Doumeki as a child.

The website also has a few screenshots of the upcoming OAD. You must click on the “screenshot” button written in japanese in order to see them (4th button).

The OAD will premiere on February 6 at the CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 special event. A promotional movie is expected to be released soon at the official website.

This website has a preview of the Koukan-Nikki doujinshi in which CLAMP participated as guest artists. You must click on the “Hai” button in order to see it (1st button).

Lastly, I don’t know if this information is any helpful for anyone but Animate is selling a clearfile with the crossover illustration from the CLAMP@MOBiLE Fes! 2011 poster. Not sure if they deliver overseas but this can be an easier way of having a clearfile (not a poster) with that illustration without having to attend the @MOBiLE event.

CLAMP to guest in Minoru Toyoda & Kumichi Yoshizuki’s doujinshi

CLAMP will be guest artists in Minoru Toyoda & Kumichi Yoshizuki‘s doujinshi Koukan Nikki (交換日記, Exchange Diary). Apart from CLAMP, the doujinshi will have other 4 guest artists.

There is a hotsite open for the doujinshi:

The 68 page, B5 format doujinshi will be sold for 1000 yens at the 79th edition of Comiket (Dec. 29~31).

This is the first time in a good while that CLAMP collaborates for a doujinshi.

The news came from a message posted in CLAMP-NET.COM by Nanase Ohkawa.

A little bit of background info now. One of the authors of this doujinshi, artist Kumichi Yoshizuki, is a friend of Ichirou Mihara (from the game developer company ARIKA). As you know, CLAMP and Mihara are close friends. CLAMP and Kumichi Yoshizuki were introduced through Mihara when he visited CLAMP’s studio in February 2009 (exchanged autographs, etc). This collaboration probably sprouted from that meeting =)

Peter Pan & Wendy by CLAMP sneak peek, XXXHOLiC Event (Updated)

You can read the first 20 pages of Peter Pan & Wendy (illustrated by CLAMP) in Kodansha’s website (click on the cover). There are 3 black and white illustrations by CLAMP in the preview.

Update: To those interested, the book can be purchased via Yesasia.com.

In other news, there is a XXXHOLiC event going on in Akihabara that will run until the 14th at Dear Stage to celebrate the DVD Boxes releases.

Episodes from the XXXHOLiC TV series are being screened and a Gallery showing the production process of the DVD Boxes is being held.

The shop is decorated with XXXHOLiC theme and its employees are wearing XXXHOLiC costumes. Also, food and drinks similar to those featured in the XXXHOLiC anime will be on sale.

Peter Pan & Wendy cover (by CLAMP)

Kodansha has the cover of the pocket edition version of Peter Pan & Wendy drawn by CLAMP:

The cover was taken from a puzzle game available at the Aoi Tori website. You can play it here if you want xD

CLAMP’s Peter Pan has belts in his clothes and Tinker Bell looks like Primera =) Clearly a Nekoi work here 😉

Apart from the cover, CLAMP was also in charge of drawing the inside illustrations.

The book will be released on November 17.
