CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION: Tokyo Babylon #3 & #4 covers

The covers of Tokyo Babylon #3 and #4 for the CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION edition have been announced!

As promised, we have finally Seishirou debuting CPC on the cover of volume 3, along with Subaru, looking like gangsters. Hokuto is back on the cover of volume 4 with Mokona fulfilling her promise that she would draw Subaru in clothes that could be worn by all genders.

As for the hot topic of Seishirou’s shoulders length, you can’t really tell how wide they look due to the furry accessory he’s wearing over them, but Seishirou looks cool af and that’s all that matters.

The cover colors keep following the same pattern as the classic edition.

Volume 7 will probably feature Subaru alone, so is it going to be for volumes 5 and 6? Again Seishirou and Hokuto, respectively? Or are we getting one (or two) cover with the trio?

I loved them!

The third and fourth volumes will be released on July 4, with two volumes coming out every month.

Here’s the upcoming release schedule for Tokyo Babylon in CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION:

July 4th, 2022: volumes 3 & 4
August 4th, 2022: volumes 5 & 6
September 2nd: volume 7

In addition, Character PVs for Subaru, Hokuto and Seishirou have been added to Kadokawa‘s Anime Channel on YouTube as “Shorts:

  1. I was hoping Mokona sensei would draw a telephone on the 3rd cover since she drew the plastic raincoat on the 2nd one. Would love to see how these tools are refreshed with her magic. And I was hoping that Hokuto and Seishiro will have their individual cover but now it’s clear that these PREMIUM COLLECTION will definitely have the leading role every time. So I guess 5 will be Seishiro without glasses+Subaru and 6 will be sad Hokuto+Subaru. But 7 might be the grown-up version Subaru only, and that will be nice to tell the transformation story on the cover too. (Just like xxxHOLiC does. 🙂

    • I was hoping for a telephone too! A mobile one lol

      But I love these nonetheless!

I think your guesses are good!

  2. So the inking and coloring for the CLAMP Premium Collection covers are done digitally, CLAMP still does some traditional arts, especially in Card Captor Sakura, I feel CLAMP is not even trying to hide that CCS, TRC, and Holic were their priority since the 2000s.

    • It’s the noted series that can bring money., which is important to keep running the business and that makes sense. Though I really do hope they’ll be bold as past eras, keep creating something brand new like Gate 7 or CLOVER.

    • New covers and an attempt at a new anime for Tokyo Babylon that was cancelled for a reason beyond their control and your takeaway is that they don’t care about Tokyo Babylon? I can’t work out the logic here lol.

      • They do care about Tokyo Babylon, but their number 1 priority is Card Captor Sakura, Holic, and Tsubasa since the 2000s that is what I am trying to say.
