As part of the celebrations for the 20th Anniversary of Card Captor Sakura, Kodansha is releasing a memorial box on October 3 for 3600 yens.
Card Captor Sakura 20th Anniversary Memorial Box – contents:
- 1/1 scale Kero plush toy.
- Calendar, featuring 5 illustrations printed properly for the first time.
- 16-pages booklet with an extra comic of Sakura and Touya’s childhood memories.
I’m assuming the 5 illustrations from the calendar are textless versions of the ones released so far for the Clear Card arc. Also, I’m not sure if the extra comic will be newly drawn by CLAMP or if it’s gonna be a reprint of the short stories that were published in the first Card Captor Sakura artbooks — the one that Sakura gets sick and Touya takes care of her.
I’m assuming the new illustration we see on the Nakayoshi advertisement aside must be from the box packaging.

Calendar? *ears perk up*
And if it’s not the milk and honey oneshot we already know about, then it’s an interesting choice of CLAMP to create a new story about these 2 in their childhood, since I guess such things wouldn’t have much place in the actual events of the series ^_^
Thanks for sharing!

Can you tell us how many pages the two extra stories from the artbooks have? Is it 16? It sounds like a reprint rather than a new story but I could be wrong. It is a “memorial” box after all…

There are 16 pages for the oneshot with Touya and Sakura (just took my artbook right now and counted the pages).
The likeliness of it being a reprint is indeed quite high…such a shame… But let’s not despair until the actual thing is released, who knows? We might get a surprise? (or not…)

The old artbook oneshots were a no-show in that glossy new 20th-anniversary art compilation, too, so reprinting the Sakura/Touya comic could be a consolation prize for fans who missed out. I’m not sure why CLAMP would choose to focus on their childhood, otherwise (unless Nanase Ohkawa likes writing about Nadeshiko that much).
