Episode 4 is up for download at CLAMP no Kyoto Agaru Sagaru‘s official website.

This episode’s topic was Tokyo Babylon!

  • It looks like the KBS Kyoto staff people brought some alcohol to them ^^” They tweeted about it last week.
  • A listener sent an email asking them to recommend places in Kyoto (?) and also asked them to explain the show’s title.
  • On another e-mail, one listener proposes a different description for CLAMP other than “creative group”. Sadly I couldn’t understand their suggestion… (Ichiza? 一座)
  • It seems like they are making a sort of corner to read suggestions from listeners on how they should be described (other than “creative group”). One listener suggested something related to Seishirou which made all four of them to laugh (earlier today they tweeted something about this).
  • Moving the talk to Tokyo Babylon now, they talked about making the designs for the books and CDs — the latter seem to have given Ohkawa a bit of a trouble since she was in charge of it.
  • They talked about Hideaki Matsuoka’s Deja Vu — which was the song they played in this episode.
  • Then, they moved into all sort of nostalgic media formats such as Cassettes, LDs, Single CDs, all of which Tokyo Babylon had a release.
  • Each of them picked a memorable story from the Tokyo Babylon series. Mokona selected the “grandpa” story, Satsuki chose the Drama CD Book one (with Tokyo Tower), I couldn’t understand Ohkawa’s…
  • Then they ostalgic CLAMP events from the early 90s.
  • Lastly, they talked about the more recent Tokyo Babylon re-releases such as the pocket edition and the CLAMP CLASSIC COLLECTION edition. Then, it seems like Mokona talked about how Subaru’s story continues in X and then I think I sensed some awkwardness in the air since the manga is in hiatus… I would love to know what they actually said here. Pretty sure Ohkawa said “Please wait for it”. Update: Actually, here’s a brief summay of what they really said (by my dear friend Claudio Bochatay):

    • When they were talking and advicing people to buy the TB Classic Collection version, or the pocket versions, they mentioned that when reading the story you can see it was written many years ago since public phones are drawn on the street landscapes.
At that time there were many public phones on the streets because they didn’t have cellphones, Satsuki even comments that Subaru used beeper. And Mokona remembers that they even have drawn public phones in X scenarios as well (hearing this Ohkawa says “you’re right, they were looking for a public phone once!”.)
So Mokona instantly comments that “what would have happened if they had smartphones at that time?”, and Ohkawa replyied saying that “if they had smarphones at those days, most of the story-plots could have been solved too easily so it wouldn’t have been any good actually”
  • Next episode there will be the first guest. It seems like the guest will be singing the show’s jingle (the C L A M P, kuranpu~). My guess: Yui Makino.

These nostalgic talks are always so nice! I’m proud of myself of how much of a summary I was able to make for this episode ^^”
