CLAMP aid for Fukushima, CCS movies BD release

The event Irashai Fukushima was held this weekend in Fukushima to raise funds for the city, affected by the nuclear incident caused by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

12 mangakas held a sign session and others contributed with sign boards for charity.

The event’s official website mentions that CLAMP contributed with a CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan illustration, I wonder if it’s a mistake or there is a second illustration?

CLAMP members Nanase Ohkawa and Tsubaki Nekoi were seen at the event, although CLAMP did not perform a sign session.

Yay for CLAMP doing charity work \o/

On other news, Bandai Visual will release the two Card Captor Sakura movies in Blu-Ray format on August 26 for 6.300 yens each. The covers will feature new illustrations drawn by CLAMP (source).

GATE 7 #1 in Japan and around the world!

CLAMP-NET.COM announced that the first volume of GATE 7 will be released in Japan on June 3 costing 460 yens.

Also, looks like the international release plans for GATE 7 are finally taking shape. CLAMP-NET.COM posted a list of countries where GATE 7 will be published on a semi-simultaneous way.

I’ll be reposting here the info from clamp_now, which translates what CLAMP’s official website says:

Very happy to see this coming to life! It won’t be as simultaneous in the US as first announced by Dark Horse, it seems like they will be publishing the tankoubons only, shortly after the original Japanese release date, at least. But countries like South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong will be publishing the manga in series format (followed by a tankoubon release). I don’t understand France’s case… will the serialization happen for a limited time only? Until Chapter 3? After that, only tankoubon releases? It’s not clear for me.

As a Brazilian, I’m very happy and proud (and a bit surprised) to see that Brazil is on the list! I’m also surprised, however, that for the first time a CLAMP title will not be published by JBC, but New Pop instead. I don’t know New Pop’s work, what do my fellow Brazilian readers have to say about them?

The tankoubon releases are all planned for summer 2011, which is pretty shortly after the Japanese release date (June 3). Let’s hope they stick to this calendar =)

Blood-C to be made as both TV Series & Film

Breaking Blood-C news!

The official website for the CLAMP x Production IG original animation Blood-C has updated with information on staff and the announcement that apart from the previously announced TV Series, there is also a movie release planned for 2012.

The TV anime series will be directed by Tsutomu Mizushima (XXXHOLiC director) and CLAMP’s Nanase Ohkawa will be in charge of the series composition. Character Design will be done by Kazuya Kise (XXXHOLiC Rou, Adayume OADs).

There is a wallpaper present on the website featuring an illustration drawn by CLAMP that can be obtained by answering a quick poll. If you don’t want to answer to the poll and just want to see the wallpaper, here is the 1028×1024 pixels version.

An official twitter account for the project was launched as well.

Finally, there is a comment from CLAMP saying that they were shocked when Production IG approached them for the project (they said “EHH!” out loud xD). They are feeling very honored to be involved in this project.

The TV Anime will premiere in July on TBS.

I was hoping Nanase Ohkawa would be in charge of the series composition (and not just provide a rough plot line) but it’s nice to see a confirmation. I hope she gets to write a lot of scripts, including the movie’s!

The movie was quite of a shock to me, I wasn’t expecting it so soon. This is going to be huge!

More on CLAMP aid for Touhoku earthquake

The Sakura illustration CLAMP drew to help the victims affected by the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami is now available in Nico Nico Douga’s charity page. Members can also download a larger version of the illustration.

Not sure if many of you are registered to Nico Nico, therefore I have uploaded the image in large scale here.

CLAMP will also join a charity event organized by Animate called Smile Heart.

The event will be held on Sunday, April 10 at Ikebukuro, Tokyo, entrance is free of charge for everyone. CLAMP will provide an autographed GATE 7 colored panel for auction. All funds will be used to help victims of the Touhoku earthquake.

Other personalities and companies from the anime and manga industry will join the cause, you can check the complete list of volunteers here.

It’s really nice to see CLAMP helping the cause. Here’s hoping that these actions will help for a quick recovery of Japan.

CLAMP aid for Touhoku earthquake update (Updated)

The wallpaper featuring the illustration CLAMP did to raise funds for the victims of the Touhoku earthquake and tsunami is now available at Yahoo! Volunteer. Yahoo! users can purchase the wallpaper and help the cause.

Unfortunately it seems like it’s only available for Japan residents.

The video message created by CLAMP in collaboration with ARIKA’s Ichirou Mihara already received over 369.000 views on Nico Nico Douga a week after it was posted online.

On other news, the new background of the above mentioned Ichirou Mihara’s twitter was drawn by CLAMP!
