1st – FAIRY TAIL #15
2nd – Mahou-sensei Negima! #26
3rd – Tsubasa #27
23rd – Tsubasa #27 – OAD Limited Edition
According to Oricon, the normal edition of Tsubasa #27 sold 99.994 copies in its first week, while the OAD limited edition sold 19.878, making an overall of 119.872 copies sold. It’s worth mentioning that I don’t think Oricon’s numbers take into account the orders made via Kodansha’s website, so the actual numbers are probably bigger than that.
It’s also worth mentioning that once again it was put on sale 3 different versions of Tsubasa, and the sales are divided between them. If we sum the total sales for all 3 editions, it would probably have won first place in most rankings.
Congratulations to Tsubasa and CLAMP =D
On a side note
Thanks for the sales report! Really, I appreciate knowing all this. I remember being in Tokyo last year, and wishing I’d had the brains to buy the OAD packages and not just the regular manga. It’s good to know Japanese readers are picking it up despite the, um, tortured storyline at this point. Don’t get me wrong, I will see this through to the end, but still…I sometimes suspect the CCS Sakura and Syaoran were suddenly pulled out of the TRC storyline (so to speak, that is) because of the backlash over CLAMP mucking about with one of their few happy endings.
Additionally, I linked to the previous entry where you declared there’s no Season 3. I hope that stops the know-it-alls from insisting, “But if you read the CLAMP site…blah blah.” As far as I’m concerned, unless CLAMP says it themselves–in English–or YOU announce it, I’m not listening.
Oh and thanks for the links to the scans! Really appreciate your kindness, and that of the people who scan and share!

You’re welcome! I really like to know these number data as well =)
And about Season 3, it really is not in production. If they ever confirm it, I’ll definitely post it here ^_~

Congrats to TRC! it’s pretty amazing they can have such a high rank despite they have 3 different versions on sale. That’s amazing!^^

Yay~ to TRC!
This can only lead to new OADs, no doubt about it looking at Shunraiki 2.
I’m very glad Japanese people has forgotten horrible Tsubasa Chronicle and now TRC has recovered its pride and name in Japan ^_^
(Although not in the list, I’m part of that always buying DX version and the limited OAD one :D)

I wonder. It really was a success, but with no manga, I wonder in “what” they could attach it to? Maybe stand-alone OAVs, but I don’t think it’ll be “OAD”.

Unfortunately there’s another version of Negima also, and this version is on Oricon’s Top Ten =s. I see 99.994 copies sold as a bad score, if compared to the results of the previous volumes of TsubasaRC. But anyway we have to wait for the results of next weeks.

Here, on Tayosha’s ranking the two versions of Negima are on the top ten (T_T), Negima on the first position and the special version on the fifth position.

Here on Oricon’s ranking Negima is on second and fifteenth position (112.824 and 32.628). At least Fairy Tail won Oricon’s first position (it’s one of my favorite manga ever).
