OH-MY-GOD!!!!! xDDDD

AWESOME chapter. I don’t even know where to start. I will probably not be able to write everything I want to (because it’s too many and I might not even remember all of them), but I’ll try my best.

The splash page, would probably be the least important thing of this chapter if it weren’t for Ashura-ou to be featuring on it. Very pretty.

Syaoran trying hard to stop Sakura was so sweet. And he thought it was his fault, awww… Rest assured, Syaoran, it’s not you. It’s nothing, actually, Sakura just saw in a vision her, until then, magician friend trying to kill her.

Fye’s past. We knew it would be dark. We are waiting for that. But these little scenes are really disturbing (now I know what Ohkawa meant O.o). I can’t believe this little “creature” is the oh-so-handsome wizard we know. And why are his hands all bloody? O.o

The first thing I noticed is that, apparently, the flashback we saw at the Tokyo arc and we thought was Fye’s, belonged in fact to his “twin”. I have no idea how he had “access” to that flashback since they were both isolated. But very well.

Here we have another new thing. A twin? Is it really a twin? Boy or girl?

Fei Wang steps in and interferes in his fate by asking him if he would prefer to be free or set free the other one. And here we have a resource very used by CLAMP: a speechless balloon! xD We’ll probably see what is written in that speech-balloon later. However, even if it SEEMS like he had chosen himself, what if he didn’t? I can’t see Fye being so selfish, trying to save his own ass, but I might be wrong. Maybe the only way of “escaping” that tower would be death itself. It depends on what Fei Wang meant by “leaving”…

Ashura came to pick him up. We still have to see why he took him (what for? and who told him?) and why Fye was there in the first place. There’s too many things about his past.

2 feathers coming out of Chii and Freya. I still don’t quite see their connection. I think they don’t have any, and that the feathers might have showed up because they were “attracted” by Sakura. Now I wonder if the feather was in Celes since before or after Fye took off from there? XD

So these are the, what, 11th and 12th feather, if I’m correct? Then we have one with Seishirou, one in Tokyo and one with the clone (that we have spotted).

Now, Sakura’s “Fye-san” in page 15 has the exact same tone of Kotori’s “Onii-chan”, seconds before she got killed by him.

Did she know he was going to do that? I believe she did, and that that was the vision she was trying to avoid. It would be more interesting if she knew (and the whole arc was built around that vision. I can’t believe this scene was not part of it).

I believe she asked Yuuko to let her know when they arrive to a world where they can obtain the power to cross dimension alone because she saw in her vision the thing happening while she was trying to leave the world. It’s confusing and we get back to the same point everytime but that’s how predicting the future works. You predict a future that was already predicted xD

Sakura wanted to prevent that from happening primarily to save herself, of course. You might think that it’s selfish of her, but she also might have wanted to avoid it from happening, to prevent Fye from doing it.

The scene of doom was LOVELY. I mean it xD I had posted here before saying that “the gore-r, the better”, and that applies here as well. And it doesn’t get less interesting because it’s Sakura who’s losing the blood. No. It actually gets EVEN MORE interesting xDDDDDD I always had the idea that CLAMP considered Sakura much like an untouchable character, I always comment this here, and I’m very much pleased to see that there’s a sword sliding across her stomach!!!!! ^______________^ WHEN ON EARTH would I expect to see something like this? And with Sakura? Never, I believed until now. The injuries she got on Tokyo was “good” but I thought that would be as far as CLAMP would go. Scenes like this makes me think that CLAMP will always be CLAMP. And I will always love them ^___^

Talking about the scene in the context of the story now. The curse was such a surprise, and a huge plot twist too! Because that would mean Ashura-ou was never after Fye to kill him (honestly, I never thought that xD), but maybe Ashura-ou would become stronger than Fye, somehow, and Fye would have to eventually kill him. And to also prevent that from happening, Fye put Ashura-ou to sleep. He never thought that Sakura would become stronger than him one day, though.

But there’s so MANY things involved in this curse that thinking about it gives me headaches xD First and foremost, should we really believe Fei Wang entirely? Why did he put Fye under such a curse? If Fei Wang knew Fye would meet and be one of Sakura’s guards, didn’t he also know that Sakura would be more powerful than Fye? If so, does Fei Wang want Fye to kill Sakura? Why does he need her dead? The last time we heard he wanted her “body”. So a dead body is OK, too? xD

And also, does that mean EVERYBODY Fye met up to now is weaker than himself? Yuuko, Seishirou, Ashura, Kamui, Fuuma and Subaru? And there’s the eye. Would that scene still happen if he had his eye and, with it, the his full amount of magic?

And there’s Sakura’s luck. I mean, she’s not going to die (although these days it would be better if I don’t doubt of CLAMP XD), I think we can see in the drawing itself that the cut of the sword wasn’t lethal, and it looks like it passed right beside her stomach. That’s her luck saving her.

Anyway, there are probably a lot of other questions and other theories, but this is all I can do for now xDDD Sorry again for such a long post, geez >.< But I'm looking forward to see your opinions on this amazing and surprising chapter!

  3. Point of interest: I don’t think Fai made the choice. Look at the direction the person who says the speechless speech-bubble is facing– out, where the child on the ground is facing in. The child that fell seems to be the one that spoke.

    😀 but we knew that one was suicidal, but yeah, why’d Fai have that flashback?

    (Maybe he’s always wanted to save someone and couldn’t then because the other him/twin/whatever chose death instead. That’d be interesting too.)

    While I wouldn’t say I’m happy to see Sakura get hurt, nor did I ever much care that CLAMP hadn’t hurt her much, this is definitely super exciting and unexpected. X3

    About if Sakura’s dead or alive… it’s difficult to guess. You have a lot of clues:
    -Sakura’s good luck that would ‘definitely’ save her.
    -The curse that would ‘definitely’ NOT save her xD
    -The thing about the ‘bonds’ that maybe can change the future.
    -the text at the end of the chapter that says ‘the bonds are broken’ [or something like that] xD

    so… ?_?

    So these are the, what, 11th and 12th feather, if I’m correct?
    you’re counting them? I never did it xD. Maybe the number is important, who knows…

    • But if she dies… I don’t know what to expect anymore xDDD I mean, are we going to follow the rest of the story with her spirit? XDDD I see no point in making her die now when there must be other 9 volumes left. I think her luck is stronger than the curse.

    Why am I comparing Fai’s past with something from Harry Potter?! O__o Me thinks that because it is the most angsty and dark past that anyone has ever had. Even worse than Subaru and Kamui combined!! *sobs in the corner* ;_________;

    I knew that when I saw the detailed sleeve, it was Fei Wong Reed. Man, that is one bad-ass dude!! He sort of place a curse on Fai as well as the magic on his eyes. Talk about hitsuzen!! I’m so speechless that I don’t know how to describe the scene of Fai’s flashback sequence. I’ll get back to you on that one later. Uwaaa!! *faints from the shock*

    I don’t blame Kuro for letting go of his arm, but I do blame Syaoran for not putting the sword away!! Bad Syaoran! *whacks him*

    When Sakrua-hime got stabbed by Syaoran’s sword by Fai, I guess it goes to show that Sakura-hime is mortal after all. I never thought that I will ever see that kind of side of her. Ever. I’m just so shocked seeing it every time!! X__x This series has shown some moves that we never seen from CCS’ Sakura Kinomoto. But I know that she is not going to die and like the motto from her counterpart: “Zettai daijoubu da yo.”

    Don’t worry about the long comment, it was really interesting to read and how surprising that you’re coming up with many theories. ^^ Awesome chapter overall!! Best and most shocking since Chapter 120 from the Tokyo story. *dies*

      Yeah! And I was so happy ! I guess it’s not secret to anybody by now XDDDDD But I hate to have that feeling of “Oh, that character will never die because of this and that”. I prefer to think that everybody is subject to die.

  7. Potter cover art and this all in one day?! Complete overload. Complete overload. Complete overload…etc.
    That Fai twin thing was horribly disturbing in the best way. Even though I’ve read the entire X and Tokyo Babylon, it still shocks me when CLAMP does something so unpretty. When that kid took a head dive….!

    I just realized I’ve been checking this journal for more than a year, so…off to friend.

    About the Fay hands I guess because he was looking for an escape… in the earth or something? O_o.

    I don’t know why, but I feel like the other boy could climb that prison @_@ (what is the garbage/earth of there? @_@), see the last light through the window, fall and finally… die. Because he wanted that right? he wanted to die, while.. did Fay want to live?

    Everything in Tsubasa happens because FWR hitsuzen. And I want to know why Ashura too.

    Fay used a feather to make Chii? when was that feather in Celes from?

    And about Sakura’s luck… it’s a LUCK that she still has it.

  9. I can’t see Fye being so selfish, trying to save his own ass, but I might be wrong.

    This is Fye from way back when who suffered who knows what horrors. He probably wasn’t thinking straight and anyone would want to get out of the hell hole he was in.

    I think this is what CLAMP meant if we would still like Fye after we find out about his past. He wasn’t necessarily the Fye we know right now. But what matters is that he changes for the better right?

    • Yeah, you could be right. I just said that because I saw no point in “hiding” the content of that balloon if, apparently, we could see that he has chosen himself (the one to leave). I think that CLAMP might do some twist and make him choose the other one, but s/he died because that was the only way of escaping. It’s just a thought xDDD

  10. Thank you! This is getting really interesting.
    Maybe Fai ate his twin so they could both get out of the castle and he got the twin’s memories and magic and he also turned into that tattoo on his back. He’s the wind/bird element and that’s how Syaoran got Fai’s magic too. What do you think? Us normal people can’t think of anything shocking enough to scare off Fai fans, like Clamp can.

  11. xD OMGOMGOMG! This chapter was just too much, wasn’t it? Too much goodness packed into so few pages… I’m glad I’m not the only sadist that likes to see my fav characters in pain (mmm… subaru…) ^_^;;; anyways, this chapter sure answered a few questions but added a whole lot more. I hope they get on with it a bit more too.

    One thing tho; didn’t sakura give up her luck to get her wish? I suppose this might have been the end of her luck. I can’t wait to see what happens… 😀 stupid wordless speach bubble. If Fai was as unconcerned about his own fate then as he seems to be now, I don’t know if he would have chosen himself.

      Good question! Did Fei Wang predicted that too? You know, I guess that Sakura would, EVENTUALLY, get stronger than Fye. EVEN if he had both eyes, she would be stronger at a certain point of the story. This “event” only happened “earlier than planned” because he lost half of his powers.

        You know, I hade never considered Fay being the strongest of the group. I mean, I thought each one of them had their particular strenghts and weaknesses, but I had never thought that Fay would be THE strongest (as much as I love him). Of course, Sakura was going to be the one holding this AMAZING power. But this got her staaaaaabbed!

        Also, you just cannot predict exactly what is going to happen. Or I am of that opinion. You can predict the curse of actions a situation is going to develop, but I am of the idea that you just *cannot* predict one’s actions. So, maybe it was all going according to some ‘plan’ but I bet this happening was not expected.. at least, *not* like this. (Or maybe I like to fight fate :P)

        And again, long comments = loooooove ♥ Even if I am all ‘wah’ I like to read yours and Alison’s summaries/comments/opinions ^^

  14. Yeah, total shock here as well. I liked this chapter in that it completely shocked me to the core, and I am glad I did not read spoilers beforehand because that would have been one long wait. XD Just…wow. I knew Fay’s past was twisted, brutal, painful, but…wow. And I want more Ashura!!

        • By the time she got her out-of-the-blue and bewildering badass on, it was already too late for me to care, and now she’s just getting annoying. She just really bugs me is all. If people actually like her I don’t mind though (I could name some characters whose fans I dislike almost as much as the characters themselves).

    • I actually go a bigger length and want the entire cast of tsubasa to suffer because they’re playing badass since volume one,while i believe that Clamp has made much cooler angsty and greater characters and their stealling spotlight!(prepares for the thousands kitchen sink attacks by SxSxFxK fangirls attack)

  16. well… the only thing i can say is “WTF” so… WTF?!?!?
    First I woke up and found about a videogame featuring Mario and Sonic competing in the Beijing Olympics, then i was in my usual web surfing and “OMG the not-so-wonderful HP covers” and then this..
    Usually I don’t read spoilers, so this was kind of a killer shock or something like that xD
    I thought “well, in this chapter we’ll see where the fuck Sakura wanted to go”
    I read about Fye’s past, then i saw that wonderful image with Chii, Freya, that power-thing and Sakura-chan in the middle of them, and then when i was in a hard hypnosis created by Chii and her powers, Fye just try to kill Sakura… or.. maybe he killed her o_O… I don’t know, maybe she is dead and Yuuko will make something about it, or maybe she is not dead and also Yuuko will make something about it xD, so.. yes, i dont know what to say xDD

    I really wanted to know where the f*ck Sakura wanted to go, i mean, she really really wanted to go there, so i don’t think she just said “Well, lets go there and prevent my shameful dead! ^_^ ”
    She was on to something important, but.. well.. it seems that it’s not so important after this…

    I have written a lot without sense comments.. so, i should be finishing this xD

  17. Isn’t the the clone Syaroan stronger than Fai? Would Fai kill him as well if they came face to face now? Didn’t Fai say something like that even half of his eye is too much, that he might not be able to defeat the clone now? I can’t remember it exactly and am too lazy to look it up, so I might be wrong 😛

      • I just somehow got the impression that C!Syaroan was now stronger than Fai.

        Or maybe Fai said that even half of his eye is too much, that Syaroan can’t be stopped, maybe he didn’t exactly mention that he himself couldn’t stop Syaroan, just that nobody else could. Though Sakura should be able to, now, depending on how she survives of course.

        • Very well-spotted. When he said that, I got the impression that he said that the clone was so much stronger than him, that even if he got his eye back, it wouldn’t be enough.

          His curse definitely needs a better explanation.

    Such a amazing chapter indeed!

    And speakign of the powers, Fye is equally powerful to yuuko and seiishirou… in the characters guide (the one published quite a time ago) comes a couple of pages the “status” of the characters and there says that fue has power level “400” (don ask 400 what.. points? magic? I’m-so-fuckig-powerful-scores?)
    And kurogane is awesomely weak xD (i don’t remember his stat) and sakura has 500

  19. such an unexpected cliffhanger! The two main things for me… firstly a speechless text bubble is something that allways scares me greatly because you never know what Clamp are goign to put in it or, indeed, if it’ll be filled at all! Secondly working my way through the list of those ‘weeker’ than Fye didn’t he meet most of them while he had his other eye and thus while he was much, much stronger? It seems loosing that eye was even more of a terrible thing than we first thought!

But don’t believe in me, this is just speculation xD

    Thank you as usual for cleaning and hosting this wonderful chapitre of Tsubasa.

    Well, now we know where was the Infinity feather, in Freya. So one question is answered. A lot more had appeared.

    Fye’s past is hard to understand, but just like Kujaku’s one in Rg Veda, everything will probably become clearer later. So there was one Fye waiting outside the tower and trying to get in. His hands are covered with blood since he tried so hard to climb the stone wall (poor thing, I feel like craddling him for the whole night ~_~ ). An other one (twin brother/twin sister/clone/whatever) with clean hands, was at the tower window, trying to get out. Feiwang Reed (because we all know it’s him) offered freedom, but only for one of the “Fye”. Bloody!Fye had to choose, so he said something and Window!Fye droped to the hard floor. He could had said something like “I want the other to be free” and FWR had just removed the bars form the windows and poor Clean!Fye get unstable and fall. We don’t know what kind of Wish Granter or joker the man is yet.

    Anyway, the remaining Fye tried to kill Sakura, but will he be going to another world with her? Will he be going without her? Will she be going alone? Stay tuned… Same Bat-Hour, same Bat-Journal.

    Am I the only one who thought of Gollum when I say that bony little creature that would latter become our Fye?

        When we saw Fye at first, he was looking at the tower from the outside, or so it seems. and the curve of the wall seems to indicate the same, but at the end, he seems inside. It very weird. And of course if he is outside from what could he be offered to escape indeed. I’ll wait to have the explanation in some more chapters.

        • Yeah, now that I see it more carefully, I think CLAMP drew in a way that we could see the interior of the tower even from the outside. Seems like he was definitely in.

          But I wonder how the other one fell from upstairs since we suppose there is a FLOOR between one level and another? He just passed right through it? XD We need a better explanation for that scene xD

  28. Hm even IF Fai was the one that decided he wanted to leave that place and live, i wouldn`t blame him. First of all, he was only a child and probably locked up all his life so far because of his magic… Which child wouldn`t say: YES i wanna leave this place when he gets asked? I mean, really… I’d never hate him for that.
    (I love him too much and i think he needs some hugs (from Kurogane);_;)

    other than that, i already speculated about this chapter when i saw the spoilers on saturday and then there were more pages on monday… and now i wait for the next chapter. Event though this was angsty as hell, i am “glad” we know more now! It was a really twisted thing but one thing makes me happy, that Ashura-o is really a nice guy. I was afraid he’d be bad even though he always looked so gentle.

      Well, if it were my sister the one up there, I would definitely choose for her to go. But yeah, I don’t think that makes me hate him ^^ I just think that there must be some tricky secret in that scene, that is why CLAMP didn’t reveal what was written in that balloon.

      You know what I also think it might be? Her costume ^_~ Minutes before the gang arrived to the shop, Yuuko told Watanuki that “They were coming” and that she needed to “get ready”. Then, she came up and Watanuki was puzzled that the only thing that she did was to change her clothes XDDDDD And everytime she’s doing something important (like creating the Gods for Ashura and Yasha), she’s wearing those clothes too. I think they work like some kind of protection, too.

    Guessings:
    About the person he choose to be free,
    1. It might be himself, cause Weed said that someone will come & he will be free after his twins died.
    2. It might be his twins. Maybe death is the only way…. So she/he dies….
    3. I think Fay’s flashback in Tokyo is weird if you put it this way:

    His twin is locked in that taall prison, (in chapitre 148 there’s ‘someone’), and wants to DIE!!!

    BUT how come Fays has that person’s memory.

    UNLESS, Fay was locked in there too, BUT (again) he wasn’t in the tower in chapitre 148. So, maybe he escaped, again, BUT if he manage to escape, he doesn’t need Weed to ‘help’ him…

    TRC 149:
    1. Syaoran will be sooo guilty… If only I didn’t let go of my sword…If only I let Sakura go… This wouldn’t have happen…….
    2. Sakura defietnetly won’t die. Her goodluck!!! But about the part how she survived… a. They ask help from Yuuko b. Eagle!!! With all those high tech equipment….

      Really? O.o I didn’t notice that (but since you’re saying). That reminds me of Sadako from The Ring. She also had her fingernails off because she was trying to climb the well.

  40. I´m going to die waiting for next chapter. i think this is one of the most shocking chaps clamp ever did. Sakura was always untouched, always optimistic and treated with special care, in ccs and also in trc until the tokyo part, and even then she didnt suffer much pain comparing to the others and… suddenly this. I love clamp, they always always surprise me. You know, i think i can undertand sakura want to run to avoid that pain from fye- i´m sure fye didnt want to kill her by his own will. he was acting like a puppet, move by his curse- but i blame her for being so stupid. the problem with most clamp characters is that they neeeever talk. Why sakura didnt explain that vision to kurogane or even syaoran? ok,maybe we can say that she didnt want to cause them more trouble, but that´s stupid: they suffer a lot to win those tournements,and i think that was a lot more selfish from her to ask.
    So fye is that powerfull? i knew fye was an strong magician but never expect that much. this implies that everybody they met until now was weaker. hum…Even yuuko? O-O
    I´m also intrigued: why fei w. wanted to put that curse on fye? i think not because he wants to kill sakura, but because that action will provoque something that benefits him. hey, perhaps sakura wasnt trying to avoid this from happening but something else that might occur because of this!…ah! my brain is going to explode.

    I still can’t make heads or tails of why Fye stabbed her. I read the translation about 6 times for it, but it doesn’t make any sense to me.

    So Fye stabbed her because her magic is greater than his? And even at that why did he stab her just because it’s stronger?

    I was like OMG!!!! O.O I can’t believe Clamp dared to do that to Sakura…. I’m so happy xDDDDD I wasn’t that much a supporter of her (in TRC, of course) but Clamp made my day!!!!
    That poor little Syaoran believed she was leaving because of him? Poor thing!!! Now he will be in a shock…. He might believe that it was his fault for not letting her go….
    Of course, Sakura will survive. But to be able to have seen that…. I can’t put it in words!

    when Weed says

    the reason why he was locked…MUST it be his power? I mean, I think that could be a metaphore…Fye could have been locked up for being selfish and violent, not poweful…what if “someone who surpasses the reason you´ve been locked up in different places” is someone who makes Fye believe in people, feelings and stuff? Since he found that out on the death of his brother(who could be the gentle one, like the C brothers in Clover), it was unfair, so he must pay for it by killing the person.

    that would also explain why he put Ashura to sleep. he became more important(not powerful) to Fye, and afraid of killing him, Fye did that and ran away.

    Or maybe, as usual, I expect too much from Clamp, get disappointed and give a better reason for their silly plots. That keep calling my attention. u_u°

    thoughts, anyone?

    OH, another thing: Weed wanted Sakura dead? Didn´t he want her to collect all her body memories then use them for something? Why would he want Fye to kill her? And how could he know Sakura(and let´s say, not Kurowan, per example) would surpass the reason he was locked? Well, he probably sees the future too…but wouldn´t he already know as well if his wish could or not be granted? Or he saw his wish being granted, just like Hinoto saw herself being killed by Kamui, because she wished so hard, but it´s not gonna happen, like Yuuko says? @_@ ok I´m starting to get irritating ^^° sorry…better wait for the next chapters…

    and if Im right in all this, clamp´s formulaes are always the same and I´m getting bored. hope I´m wrong… I feel so stupid, always liking at least one of their new charas, and this happens…
