The eleventh volume of Card Captor Sakura ~Clear Card arc~ dropped to the 49th position in Oricon’s weekly ranking, with an estimate of 12,147 copies sold in its third week of sales for the regular edition. The Special Edition (Mini Sakura Costume) also didn’t make it to the ranking this time, like last week.
Combining the numbers of the regular and special editions together and the three weeks since it’s been on sale, volume 11 sold an estimate of 116,381 copies overall.
The last time a Clear Card volume made it to the 3rd week was with volume 5. There may have been other volumes which also made it, but I couldn’t track those because the free version of Oricon only shows up to the top 30.
It’s very nice that volume 11 is still showing up in the top 50, but unfortunately these figures are the lowest overall sales by the third week for a Clear Card volume (again, based on the data I could find). In other words, all previous 10 volumes which made it to the third week had bigger figures by their third week of sales.
However, it does seem like the sales are showing a shy but growing sign. This is probably a reflection of the way the story is moving towards some sort of climax.
It is worth mentioning that Oricon only takes into account a certain number of shops and preorders are likely not taken into account. These numbers are only an estimate and it’s possible that the real figures are higher than these.
