Young Magazine (Kodansha) is celebrating its 40th anniversary and a series of celebratory events are planned.

A special website was launched today.

From August 29th to September 6th, an event will be held at Laforet Harajuku (Tokyo) as part of those celebrations. CLAMP have drawn a XXXHOLiC illustration (right), featuring Watanuki, with a message congratulating the magazine for its 40th anniversary. This illustration will be on display at the event, among other artists. A full version of the illustration can be seen at the special website’s gallery.

In addition, several manga artists that have been part of Young Magazine‘s history, including CLAMP, have collaborated on an over 10-meter long pannel illustration that shall be also on display at the event. This time, instead of Watanuki, CLAMP drew Yuuko for it:

XXXHOLiC goods are also expected to be on sale at the event.

There is also going to be a special series of one shots, but CLAMP are not listed among the artists that will participate.

Young Magazine is the magazine that hosted the serializations of Chobits and XXXHOLiC.
