Where can I watch Card Captor Sakura Clear Card TV Anime? – A useful guide

If you watch the anime via one of these channels, you’ll be supporting the creators and helping to make Card Captor Sakura even more popular worldwide.

This episode felt like 80% original content and 20% manga material.

It seems to me that the first scene between Kaito and Akiho took place a little bit later in the manga? I couldn’t be wrong, though. They didn’t go into much details such as the dreams being connected to the cards, but viewers are now linking Akiho to the Mysterious Cloaked Figure.

Oh noes, the way Sakura pinned her hair with Yukito’s hairpin looked a lot prettier in the manga =/ When the animators worked on this episode, the manga chapter in which we see it probably wasn’t published yet and maybe they didn’t get clear instructions from CLAMP as to how her hair should look like.

The topic of Akiho visiting Fujitaka’s library keeps recurring. I can’t remember this topic being that recurring in the manga. It makes me think that it’ll really happen and it sounds exciting.

The whole part with the sports was pretty unexciting to me. Sure, it meant to show how great Sakura is with sports and Syaoran getting real competitive with Akiho, but it led to nothing so it felt a bit like a filler.

The battle scene was another teamwork of Sakura and Syaoran. I am still not happy with the colors whenever Syaoran uses his magic. Speaking of which, it’s intriguing what he says about his magic not working anymore for this city. Also, he uses his new magic (again?), but it doesn’t look like a card? Maybe we will get a clearer shape in the coming episodes.

Another anime original card: HAIL.

The dream sequence are getting more and more revealing (more so than the manga, I daresay). This time we even get to hear the Mysterious Cloaked Figure’s voice! And does it sound like Akiho? Yes, it does. It was a nice way to end the first “half” of the series.

The animation looked a little poor on this episode, in comparison to the other ones. Even some almost close-ups looked weird, including Sakura (who is always drawn so flawlessly in my opinion).

Next week there will be a recap episode. A new episode will air two weeks from now, with the new OP and ED and Meiling! I wasn’t expecting her to stay at Sakura’s house! This will be interesting!

  1. lol! sakura in the morning is me every damn morning!

that scene at akihos house when kaito is making the morning tea is so very black butler- esque! i really do wonder if CLAMP are putting their own little spin on black butler/ got inspired by.

lol at yukito and fujitaka this episode. fujitaka all like awww shes growing up wonderfully but shes still childish at times. and yukito quietly saying that is not cute at all with sakuras whinging about her brother.

oh sakura in the basket ball game reminded me of yukito showing his unexpectedly pro standard skills in that misty card episode (where touya was Cinderella. XD The memories) and the entire episode reminded me of the sports day with the flower card. i liked how sakura seemed to have a teeny bit more of a competitive edge whilst playing basketball. or was she always competitive when it came to sports? i know she’s always excelled at sport but not sure on the competitive side.

does the dream key glow every time a card shows up? i cant remember… but if it does im getting serious lord of the rings vibes with frodos elven sword- it glows blue when orcs are close by. ^^

😮 was this the first time in the anime we see syaorans sad face in front of sakura?? it was well done. i think for anime only fans, that face really showed the “doom is coming” feeling extremely well. great to see his new magic animated. in fact i love how they have animated syaoran in magic mode this whole series. the sword summoning is just great! syaoran is definitely more on edge in the manga but i like his little frustrated outbursts that have been added to the anime, we dont get that at all in the manga. syaorans original method really wont work against whatever it is thats happening huh? but who taught him this new method. eriol? his mother? i want to know!!!

now my fear is that all the main action will happen suddenly all at once right at the end. right now things are going along nicely steadily with the dreams, shady syaoran, and card sealing- doesn’t even feel like sakura has to fight much at all to deal with the cards. i think this is where my fear is coming from. will there be too much fight all at the end? so my hope is that we get another series after clear card to finish spread things nicely rather than rushed (like TRC ending ^^;)

finally, i wonder if yukito works at yomogi pre school from kobato??? i would LOVE to see that! and another mention of movie 2! did movie 2 take place during kobato story time? just remembering touya dressed as the ushagi in the movie. wasnt there a cameo of touya in that same costume in kobato? anyhow, its a nice little continuation of kobato if thats the case. i wonder if clear card happens after kobato fades away…? urgh! CLAMP and timelines… dont get me started it hurts my head trying to decipher it all in some sort of order! CLAMP really really need to release an official timeline.

oh my gosh! super slow of me to notice this but ive only JUST realised that the little cheerleader sakuras spell out the name sakura! 😮

She’s really into sports and I liked seeing this competitive side of her =)

I am not sure if always but it’s the second (?) time we’ve seen it doing it. I think it makes sense. LOL at the LOTR reference. So very true.

I am actually curious about that too! It’s been mentioned twice and I wonder if we’ll get an episode centered on that. I would die if it was Yomogi Kindergarten!

hahaha yes! They do! I noticed it because someone pointed it out on twitter the first time it was aired.

oh i love competitive sakura!! if she indulged this side of her more/put it towards other things eg card sealing and magic stuff she would be so badass! i really do think i would love CLAMP forever if they show sakura in an epilogue scene like 10 or so years later with this badass edge to her whilst in action. especially since it would lift her nicely above and away from the tsubasa sakuras ( who i also love but ccs is my main girl)

just gonna put an “open to all answers” question out there, what is sakuras magic other than dream seeing and sealing cards? it came to me in this episode when she needed fire but didnt have the card so she was apparently at a dead end. does she not have offensive defensive magic abilities other than her own or does she need tools to fight?

  2. Interestingly, Akiho and Kaito’s dialogue confirms that it really is Akiho in Sakura’s dreams, and not that Akiho was having the same dream as Sakura, both viewing the hooded figure… it was kinda obvious, but nice to have confirmation.

I loved the sports sequence. Fanservice! XD

And what was up with Syaoran? He seemed reluctant to use his “Lv 2” magic.

Recap episode? I hate those 😦

  3. I noticed how the stakes seem to be getting much higher now as we head into the 2nd half of this season. The first half seemed like everything was relatively calm, and most of the cards never posed much of a threat and Sakura was able to sense and capture them very easily before they even had a chance to threaten anybody else besides her.

But ever since episode 9, these new cards have started getting more threatening and involving other people. The aquarium throwback episode, the Snooze card putting Akiho to sleep, Reversal causing a ruckus at the penguin park and Sakura almost getting caught using magic in front of everyone… and now with the Hail card attacking everybody at the sports event, and Sakura actually facing some real danger and needing Syaoran’s help to capture the card… Things have definitely started getting way more intense now with these Clear Card appearances. These past 4 episodes have been much closer in tension to the feel of the average episode from the 1st and 2nd season of the old series, where the cards would often have more of an impact on Sakura’s personal life. And now that the mage from Sakura’s dreams has been shown lurking outside Sakura’s house, the tension is starting to scale up even more, comparable to how the 3rd season of the old series felt.

Syaoran and Kero have also finally started becoming more useful in these past 4 episodes too, whereas in the first 8 episodes they’ve been mostly irrelevant and it was just Sakura doing everything herself. I hope that the 2nd half will start to involve Meiling and Yue in the card mishap events as well.

One thing that still doesn’t seem as good as the old series though, is how easily all of these new cards are captured. In the Clow Card arc, Sakura would sometimes need to fulfill some condition in order to make the card reveal its true form before she could capture it, such as the Mirror card where Sakura had to use divination to figure out the name of it before she could capture it. All of the Clear Cards so far haven’t had anything like that, instead Sakura just needs to sense where the card’s attacks are coming from, and capture it at its source.

Also, am I the only one who got nervous that time that Akiho started questioning Sakura about her outfit after she captured the Hail card? It looked like she had Sakura backed into a corner. I thought she would insist on seeing the play that Sakura was apparently dressed for, and Sakura would either have to put on a sudden improv play out of nowhere to justify to Akiho why she’s wearing the costume, or do something like use the Snooze card on her and make her think she dreamed that whole thing… but no, it was just resolved off screen without explanation. I was kinda hoping for more to come out of that.
