As part of the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of Nakayoshi, Kodansha’s magazine in which Card Captor Sakura was published from 1996 to 2000, a special edition of the manga has been announced.

Instead of the usual 12 volumes, this commemorative version was reorganized to fit in 9 volumes. All covers will have new illustrations drawn by CLAMP.

Volumes 1 and 2 will have a simultaneous release on March 27.

This commemorative version will also have 3 exclusive benefits:

1) Digital version for those who purchase the printed version.
2) Latest and unreleased illustrations featured on the Card Captor Sakura Art Exhibition, available on the digital version.
3) Illustration card featuring the most popular designs used for telephone cards in the past. Each volume will come with a different illustration card.

Nice to know that the unreleased illustrations will get a proper release, even if it’s only a digital release. And that cover illustration is beyond gorgeous! If the others will follow the same style, I am already looking forward to see the other 8 illustrations.
