Splash page with Watanuki wearing Clow’s cloak FTW! Congratulations for everyone who predicted since Chapter 1 that Watanuki was a Clow relative \o/
The mystery of who Fei Wang wishes so desperately to revive still remains. Any theories? I wonder if it’s a character that we know.
So just as I had thought, it was Fei Wang who granted Syaoran’s wish, not Yuuko. Hence why he now has to come with Fei Wang. Brilliant!
How sweet of Yuuko to accept a payment that Syaoran paid to Fei Wang, and not her, when he asked to be send to the Clone’s place (remember back in Tokyo arc? She didn’t take any payments because he had already paid. Not to her, though, to Fei Wang).
Fei Wang says that thanks to the distortion created by the time warp, he was able to obtain a “hidden power”, power that creates “duality”. Is this how he managed to clone Syaoran and Sakura? If that’s the case, that’s just WOW! Thanks for explaining that, CLAMP! It was hard to accept that Fei Wang simply knew how to clone (such an easy thing to do, really!) someone. I would be very satisfied with this explanation. Brilliant!
Also, were the eggs duplicated by Yuuko? What for?
It is so sweet to see Yuuko all protective against Watanuki, and when she folds his ears, awwww!
Beautiful message at the end as she’ll try to give Watanuki a life for himself.
It’s so nice to see how everything happened, Fei Wang’s plan taking shape, questions being answered, I want moar!

nice chapter it is..
I guess now we can assume why yuuko wants watanuki to be friend with doumeki and kohane – so it’ll be harder for him to vanish if he’s connected to other people, espcially if one of them is a grandson of a shinto priest and the other has psychic power and a huge source of magical powers (sakura’s feather).
Speaking of Tokyo, the chapter explains what with the “interference” she talked about – she couldn’t free Shaoran from Feiwang beacause he needs to pay for his wish, therefore he must stay at Feiwanf’s place for 7 years.
and another thought that accured to me(not much related)- When Shing-Hu teleported Shoaran to Yuuko’s place, she didn’t betray Feiwang, quit the contarery! if Shaoran had traveled outside Feiwang HQ, he would have known that Feiwang is located in Clow-koku, and who knows what kind of troubles he would have made him (just another weird thought XDD)

Indeed. I feel bad for Himawari, though ^^” But I can understand that, if she has “bad luck”, she would probably make Watanuki disappear faster.

Exactly =)
I still think Fei Wang would have Sayoran under his custody because he could interfere. I don’t know why Fei Wang didn’t kill Syaoran instead of waiting until the seal to be broken. Maybe he kept him there just in case he needs another clone or whatever the reason.
Fye was supposed to kill R!Syaoran, that’s why I don’t get why Fei Wang didn’t kill him himself.

Maybe the price must be paid entirely (we don’t really know all the rules in fullfilling a wish). So Fei Wang simply couldn’t kill him until 7 years have passed. And this could be why he planned to get Shaoran killed by Fay.

I’m almost positive the person he tried to revive is someone we know. Otherwise, where’s the twist? =3
My best guess as to who it is would be either Clow or Yuuko (I know Yuuko’s not dead, but maybe she’s not really “alive” either? Just a crack theory =]).
I keep getting the feeling that Fei Wang is Clow’s younger brother for some reason.

I agree. A new character, a random new character, at this point, wouldn’t be as surprising.
I don’t think he wants to reviver neither Clow or Yuuko. I clearly remember him saying how Clow was against his plans but now that he is dead, only Yuuko is in his way.
So I’m not sure he would want to revive Clow.

So, why not Eriol?
He is the only one important character of Card captor Sakura that we haven’t seen yet. And he’s Clow related! So maybe is related to Fei Wang too?

It is also mentionned that Clow “could not achieve it completely”.
So it means he did try to revive someone too? And who *that* would be? ^^
My last crack theory is that it was his son, who was finally given the opportunity to exist by Yuuko… that is to say Kimihiro. Okay, so it’s just my terrible desire of Kimihiro being the love child of Yuuko and Clow… >.

Actually, I think he was referencing how Clow split his soul into two pieces, and those two pieces became Eriol and Fujitaka in CCS. So he was reincarnated, and in a sense Eriol is himself, since he has all the memories and all that, but Eriol himself says that while he is Clow Reed’s reincarnation, he is not the man himself. And then, looking very sad, he says, “There is no power to bring back the dead” GOD! It almost seems like CLAMP was planning this from the very beginning!!
And Watanuki looks SO much like Eriol, and Eriol is Clow. So the revelation that Watanuki looks like a younger Clow felt like such a “how could I not see that coming?!” thing. Lol! Yuuko/Clow love child! I think Watanuki might have a seizure XD
Anybody else totally scream when they saw Watanuki in Clow’s outfit? SQUEE!!! And if he saw Syaoran disappearing and stuff, why doesn’t he remember it?
LikeLike
Well, I wouldn’t be so sure that Clow wanted to revive someone. Maybe Yuuko was referring to how Clow was reborn in two different bodies (Eriol and Fujitaka).
But maybe he tried to revive someone that we don’t know yet…. same person Fei Wang is trying to revive?

Oh, thanks for clean scans~~!
So just as I had thought, it was Fei Wang who granted Syaoran’s wish, not Yuuko. Hence why he now has to come with Fei Wang.
Actually, right after FWR oh-so-kindly offered to grant Syaoran’s wish, Yuuko shows up and tells Syaoran she has the power to grant it. And after her exposition about the price he’d pay, she asks Syaoran if he wants to go on with it even so – and the rest is history. That’s why I think Yuuko was the one to grant his wish, and going with FWR was merely part of the payment – having his “freedom” taken away. Yuuko is known for having asked less than the “equivalent exchange” on occasion, yes, but I doubt she’d go as far as accepting payment done to someone else. =/
Also, were the eggs duplicated by Yuuko? What for?
I personally don’t think that was done by Yuuko, either. She did say it was that person’s doing, after all, so I’m guessing FWR?
But yes, it was soooo sweet to see Yuuko being all protective of Watanuki like that. She could totally be his mommy, but… MY FANGIRL DREAMS, THEY HAVE BEEN CRUSHED. ;__;
Aaaaaaand I still think the person FWR wants to revive is Clow. And the person Clow “didn’t entirely succeed in reviving” is Yuuko. Don’t ask me why, it’s just a gut feeling I have. OT3 of overpowerful magic people XD?

As for Yuuko… I don’t know, but sometimes she seems so in-touch with the other world that it almost feels as though she belonged there. That, and she has probably lived a ridiculously long life, too. And she drinks and smokes way too much to be alive. XD

Also, FWR is related to Clow, bb; it has been said so before. Some translate it as a distant ancestor, others as a relative, though, so we don’t know for sure what kind of relation they have… But yeah, same family for sure. x3

Don’t we all? XD
I think they really are pretty close. But how…

I personally go with the translations that say Clow is a relative of his because that leaves room for more interpretation. This chapter has in fact given me the impression FWR is at least as old as Clow, if not older, for he knew what Clow looked alike as a child.
Besides. FWR is too ugly to descend from Clow. ALL CLOW DESCENDANTS ARE PRETTY, DAMMIT. XD
LikeLike
Ah yeah I didn’t think about that, but still he could have seen pictures/paintings… But I think they are brother, most of all ^^
HAHAHAHAHA!! XDDDDDDD Well maybe CLAMP wanted to say “hey, if your ancestors were beautiful and you’re not, it’s ok”? XD

Hummm, reading back now, I guess you are right.
I don’t understand then why he had to go with FWR. Sure, he could have lost his “time” and “freedom” and still go with Yuuko? The conditions are weird… xD
>I personally don’t think that was done by Yuuko, either. She did say it was that person’s doing, after all, so I’m guessing FWR?
Ohh, thanks for that, I had fogotten about it!
I don’t think the person FWR wants to revive is Clow, he seemed so happy to know that Clow is dead and is no longer interfering in his plans (only Yuuko were).

The thing with Syaoran is that he was so desperate to save Sakura that he went all TURN BACK TIME, I DON’T CARE WHAT THE PRICE IS!1!!!1 Only then he found out about having his “time” (for the time rewinding itself) and “freedom” (for the one time when he was supposed to have gone with FWR in the first place) stolen. Poor baby. ;_;
And while he might have seemed happy to know Clow wasn’t interfering with his plans, he was never seen celebrating Clow’s death per se, either. We know Clow has tried to ressurect someone in the past, but we don’t know exactly how long ago that was, or who it was, for that matter; I don’t think he wanted to try it on himself, though. Looking back at CCS, he seemed pretty peaceful about dying, and he was tired of so much power. And now that we know about his relations with the TRC events, I’m not surprised. Poor Clow. ;_____;

And oh, Clow Reed. He’s still affecting everything from beyond the grave. xD
I’m not personally a fan of the idea, but I think they might be suggesting the Fei Wong is trying to resurrect Clow. I guess it would make sense in the grand scheme of things.
And it seems Clow’s tried to resurrect someone himself, which has kinda been hinted at before. Now I’m also wondering who that is…

This chapter actually gave us a lot considering the spoilers (i think i read spoilers and just forgot them) were rather blank (thus i don’t remember them)
I now love Yuuko more, because indeed she does have a protective side for Watanuki and it seems to have started from the get go. Watanuki could hear what Fei Wong Was saying and his expression changed sad which is why she did cover his ears. That alone made me squee. I’m wanting to see little Watanuki with Yuuko more now.
and the fact that he looks like a younger clow is sorta heart breaking for Yuuko if you think of it…she did care about him and he’s gone now..so Watanuki is a walking memory of someone she cared about that is gone…the fact that Fei Wong knows what Clow looked like when he was younger makes me think their brothers or cousins…>.>

I think this also explains the mystery of the eggs, I think that they split because it went to Watanuki who has something to do with the duality. And I wonder if this explains his spirit seeing ablility, he can see more than one world, or something like that.

Oh, I’m imagining the irony if it turns out to be Yuuko, who is revealed to be a ghost, or a spirit-something… or probably not…
The duality power idea is brilliant. I didn’t think of that! Your TRC-comprehension ability amazes me…
Also, were the eggs duplicated by Yuuko? What for?
My impression of that particular chapter was that Yuuko never intended it to happen, though knowing her, she probably had an intuition about it anyway. I thought it was just to represent how the world is falling apart with all the cloning and time distortions, that even item transfers like that get confused. Or maybe FWR did another time-warp somewhere, and Yuuko realized it through the egg?
I also hope the story will keep PROGRESSING like this!

Most people’s guests as of who Fei Wang wants to revive are either Clow or Yuuko. I am pretty sure it’s not Clow, I don’t think it is, but I never thought of Yuuko.
But is weird, he calls her “witch” and he treats her as someone who he would rather see dead than alive XD

FWR’s REAL NAME
I just thought about this while reading other people’s comments about Clow and Fei Wang having the same last name. I dunno…somehow i just DONT think that Fei Wang Reed is his real name either. Its always been im portant to hide people’s real names because the thing about names in CLAMP lore… Almost everyone in TRC and Holic has substitute names. Heck! Even Mokona has an alias. And I dont think Fei Wang would have allowed Yuuko to know his real name. Anyway, i dont think there’s much significance to it…i just wanted to share the idea.
I LOVE YUUKO! so sweet:) she really has a soft spot for Kimihiro:)

I think what made me most curious about this chapter was that Fei Wang knew what Clow looked like when he was young and that Yuuko seems to be aware of it too. I have a desire for some childhood YuukoxFeixClow scenes now xD
But also, with all this distortion stuff…it made me think back to when Yuuko said that this was Fei’s second time attempting this….does that mean there’s another distortion child out there? Or did the people in the same situation as “Syoaran” and “Sakura” go about it differently so that there would be no distortion? Ie either person died? Clow and Yuuko. Please? ;; T-then Fei really would know what Clow looked like at that age! *pathetic*

I was under the impression that if the person Fei Wang wanted to resurrect is a character we knew, it’s probably someone who had yet to appear in Tsubasa or xxxHOLiC. And for some odd reason, I kept thinking of Suu from Clover.
It’s not really related, but it will be pretty painful to reread and/or rewatch Card Captor Sakura from now on, knowing what happened in the future to our favourite couple. And now I can’t help trying to compare Watanuki with Eriol.

people who think that CLAMP killed CCSSakura and Syaoran are forgetting the whole two timelines, two futures bit. It’s nice that CLAMP have basically reminded everyone what it all implies
There was one timeline=True Syaroan
This diverged when True Syaoran made his wish to turn back time. So now we have 2 timelines. One where True Syaoran is continuing on his path to stop the death of Sakura and the other where Watanuki replaces him
In the True Syaoran timeline, CCS Sakura and Syaoran are still alive. They are parallel to each other now, not continuous with the Watanuki timeline.
This is what i think happened anyway.

Also all that stuff about ‘distortions’ by Fei Wang suggests that if Watanuki disappears, the two timelines become one again and the alternate timeline where CCCS Sakura and Syaoran died will be erased.
