Dark Horse’s founder, Mike Richardson, was recently interviewed by website ICv2. In the interview, he makes an overview on Dark Horse’s manga publishing history and future plans for 2008.
He briefly mentions CLAMP and the deal they signed last year to produce a shoujo under Dark Horse due to 2009:
What are Dark Horse’s big initiatives or major events for 2008?
We’re very excited about seeing Clamp’s first work for Dark Horse late in the year. That’s a huge step for us internationally. It is a significant partnership for us, if you know the mark Clamp’s made on manga and anime.
Even though he says “late in the year”, the press release informs that the manga is due 2009. Dark Horse managers will most likely check its content earlier than us for obvious reasons. So unless they change the release date, I think we can expect an early 2009 release.
Still not huge news, but it’s the first time we hear something about it since the press release ^^
EDIT: By the way, completely unrelated, but 2 months later Newtype has their article up on Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations premiere. Not exactly what I would call “right on time” but, this is for CLAMP’s pictures admirers (like me xD).

Thanks for linking to the interview! I am really looking forward to whatever CLAMP does for Dark Horse, although I had hoped it might appear a little sooner. Nonetheless! Yay!

I have a high anticipation as well ^^ It should be fun hearing news about it, like the title (though knowing CLAMP we might see it a week before the release XD), the synopsis, and why not a couple of promo illustrations? ^^

I wonder if anything will be done in time for Comic Con. If there are any freebies or promo stuff, I’ll be happy to send it your way! Dark Horse always has a huge booth there… oh my God, if they got CLAMP to come and do autographs, I would just about die. *crosses fingers*

That would be just great! That’s the place for that sort of preview stuff, Comic Con!
But it’s Feb 22-24, you think CLAMP would have anything done by then? Seems too soon. Well, at least some more info would be nice =\

Me too! CLAMP’s not really good for picking titles xD The titles of XXXHOLiC, CCS, Chobits and Kobato were picked weeks before their releases xD I wonder if they know already the title xD
But the title can tell a lot of stuff, I’m very curious about everything regarding this project ^^

i want to see clamp new manga, but…
i’m a litle sad for the latinamerican and fans in other corner of the world where is so expensive to buy something from U.S. or Japan, because i think we don’t have scans anymore!!

I had a delightful surprise yesterday when I went into one of the stores here in mexico, I had not realized that dark horse also sells in mexico in spanish so wouldn´t that mean that it might also translate the manga in spanish shortly after it´s english and japanese debute?
I should be in the US by then and buying them there, but that´s still a nice possibility for the Mexican fans.

I just realized that yesterday, Mundo Vid owns the rights to publish dark horse comics, so maybe it’ll be a posibility *o* (fanboy mode:on)I mean i really want it!!!
