It was a tough competition with Death Note and Honey and Clover movies going on on Japan, but Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC still managed to get excellent positions.
The big surprise was, for the first time in history (XD) XXXHOLiC got better positions than Tsubasa in EVERY ranking O.O
GO, XXXHOLiC, GO !
Not being anti-Tsubasa, never, but XXXHOLiC always lived under Tsubasa’s shadow and it’s too much nice to see it growing by it’s own.
This is probably because of the anime, which whether you like it or not, it’s making a big success on Japan. It’s one of the most-watched animes that airs after midnight and it’s official site at TBS is one of the most-accessed websites of the portal.
I think the second season is nearer than never.
As for Tsubasa… *sigh* well, if XXXHOLiC’s anime helped on it’s manga sales, I wouldn’t be surprised Tsubasa’s anime to do the opposite effect on it’s manga sales. With that horrible, horrible “adaptation” of it, no wonder the sales fell. Really, that anime is so disgusting that it makes me embarrassed to know that it bears the name of CLAMP on it, which IMO is supposed to mean “quality”.
…sorry, I just had to say it.
Also, no sight of the deluxe edition, even at the Top 100 rankings.
Say goodbye to Kamui and this layout, btw XD I’ll be changing it by the next time I post ^^ *hears screams of “ABOUT TIME!”*

Yup, go for it! ^O^/ xxxHOLiC is a manga that deserves to be read for its own quality, and not only because (some people around me it’s like this, actually) its relation with Tsubasa. It’s a whole different work that should be more appreciated, and seems like it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves ^^
The situation with TRC/TC saddens me a little, though… it’s really a shame that people end up despising the manga before even reading it because of the anime. Especially now that the manga is at one of its best moments. I’ve been trying to make some friends of mine read the manga, because I know they’d like it, but they refuse to do it because of the anime… and only telling them some of the most recent spoilers I could make them agree to give it a try. It’s doing more harm than good, sadly >_>

You got it right about XXXHOLiC ^_~ I’m very happy as well ! Not to mention it means CLAMP is making success with 2 different series.
About TRC, the “real” readers won’t stop buying it just because the anime sucks. But in Japan, whenever there’s an anime, many so-called fans appears and start buying the manga as well XD That’s probably happening with XXXHOLiC now. But if the anime sucks, these so-called fans don’t have the same interest for it anymore and thus, they don’t buy the manga. However, the true manga readers will never stop buying it, that’s why it still got good positions.

Chibiyuuto-san, I agree with you COMPLETELY. This Tsubasa season is…. well….. I don’t have words to describe it any longer…. although, I’m following the manga (thank god for this!) and I wouldn’t change it for anything. It’s sad that this season has Clamp’s name on it….. it’s so shameful….. But I’m glad about Holic!!! I wasn’t too fond of this manga or anime but….. I don’t know what happened that made me change my mind (XD) and I’m really enjoying it now!
Well, that’s all I wanted to say.
Aw… so you’re changing your gorgeous layout? um…. well, I hope that the next one be as good as the kamui’s layout is! ^^ (but I’m sure you’ve done a great job with the new layout as always ^^)

It’s really really sad, isn’t it? I completely lost my interest for it. Season 1 was err, “good”, apart from all it’s sins, but season 2 is so meeeeeeh. It’s unbearable to watch !

XXXHolic debuted last week at number 4 and Tsubasa at number 5. And this week, XXXHolic went up a spot at number 3 and Tsubasa at number 6.
It’s amazing that both of the volumes in its second week beat books like INUYASHA, Ah my goddess at their first week.

Congratulations for xxxholic, but i´m a little bit disapointed, because right now tsubasa is better than ever. i want tsubasa to be 1st… but, well, xxxholic is pretty good also, and i agree about the fact that xxxholic anime is doing a great favor to the manga, while the tsubasa anime is so bad that makes me cry. how clamp could agree to that boring adaptation?
Ah, and i notice that fullmetal alchemist is also on top. great!! i love that manga! tsubasa and fma are my favorites. buf… i whish arakawa could be like clamp and bring out a new chapter every week.
well, now, waiting for next tsubasa and next xxxholic.

I think the sales of volume 16 will be better. Specially if Kamui features the cover ^^ If I were to buy any Tsubasa volume right now, I would definitely pick #16 ^^

i think i´m lucky, cause tsubasa is being published in spain and i´m buying the volumes but also, thanks to you and room of req. i dont have to wait so long to see what is hapening (last volume release here was 11), and recently i got the good new that fma is going to be published in october, so…I´m so happy i can explode!!
