The rumor is finally truth:
Yay, the next CLAMP titleS to be published in Brazil are here ! JBC confirmed today that XXXHOLiC and Tsubasa are their new mangas.
According to them, it took over 2 years of negotiations o.o But it’s finally here !
Both will be half a tankohon (like CCS, Rayearth and Chobits) and each edition will be costing R$ 5,90. The publication is going to be bimonthly and the 2 series will intercalate with each other. In one month there’s XXXHOLiC and the other there’s Tsubasa, one for XXXHOLiC and one for Tsubasa, and so on.
The first to come out is XXXHOLiC and you can buy it at the “Bienal do Livro” in Sao Paulo, which began today and it’s going to last until March 19th. After that, the manga will be put on sale on March 24th.
I’m curious to know if the color pages for XXXHOLiC are included (with this price, it’s a crime if they aren’t), if someone buys it, please let me know.
This increases the number of published CLAMP works in Brazil to 8 ! Just remembering that NO other mangaka have made up to such number in Brazil.

Provavelmente sim, pq jah q sao 8 volumes lançados ate agora, a versao brasileira tera no minimo 16, e vai demora 32 meses pra lança todas O.O Até lá XXXHOliC jah ta acabo no Japao XDDD

Akele meu amigo q me disse sobre TB ano passado, disse q ia ser Tsubasa. Dai ontem me mostraram um site dizendo q ia ser xxxholic e q mais tarde viria Tsubasa, tava mt bom pra ser verdade, mas É XDDDD

Lembrei de um post que uma amiga escreveu (e ela não é fã) no blog dela:"…Mas eu acho engraçado como CLAMP acontece algo como com gatos, ou a pessoa ama ou ela odeia! o.o" O que é sempre um bom sinal claro, já que coisas medíocres não despertam nem paixões nem ódios…"
E precisa dizer mais alguma coisa?! ^^
O que me chateia é que vai demorar uma eternidade p/ acabar… No mínimo uns 4 – 5 anos p/ todos vols serem publicados T__T

BIMONTHLY?!?! Are you serious?? God damn, I wish I lived in Brazil (and/or understood the language). It takes Del Ray months to get out one book. And even though they’re pretty much a full tonkohon each release (I think…), you’ll still be getting them faster than we are in the US.

Yeah, if you think in that way, we are lucky indeed o.o Besides, I heard Del Ray’s translations aren’t very good, is that right? JBC’s quality of paper and material aren’t the very best, but at least the translation is very fine.

I’ve never noticed anything wrong with the translation. I’ve been following BWYS’s scanlations from the beginning and I really do prefer Del Ray’s translation. They make a lot more sense most of the time and I think little has been changed except to make it easier to understand.
Besides, I adore the “translation notes” at the end of the volume. They explain almost everything!
I just wish they would include the color pages. 😦 They did at the beginning, but now they don’t…

hehe oh, you didn’t offend me! There may very well be bad translation errors that I didn’t notice. ^^ I didn’t mean to come off sounding angry. I just really like Del Ray’s version. I just wish they’d hurry up with their releases! They’re so darn slooooow…. T.T

That’s great news for you guys! How do Brazilian publications usually stand up in terms of translations & editting? Are they normally good?

It was a prototype magazine… more like a project. Only 4 or 5 issues were out. I don’t think it’s circulating or even if it WILL circulate like a normal magazine one day.

I kinda figured out that XXX Holic and TRC -would- be out this year XD.
You see a lot of fans at cons in Brazil, and also JBC said that they’d release 10+ new titles this year… So we can hope for more CLAMP series, since only JBC releases them ^^

Oh and I heard that Clamp started to be pretty exigent when it comes to publication contracts sine TRC and Holic, every editorial has to respect their rules (WAY TO GO GIRLS! XD) that I guess are about the order the both series tanks come out (no Holic tank until the -insert number here- tank of TRC and so), quality of the paper, etc, well… I dont know about that for sure I just heard it when the spanish edition came out ^^U

As for CLAMP’s requests, I think they are very right ! The quality of the paper lacks bigly. However the publication here will be bimonthly for both series… independent of Tsubasa crossing with XXXHOLiC on that volume or not, it’ll be published anyway.
