Things I should say

Mainly about the whole Top Runner crazyness… Please, everybody who got the file or is planning to get it, read it.

First of all, I’m really, really happy that I could pass this to a bunch of people, yey, mission accomplished !

For that, I’d like to thank some people who made this whole thing happen:

miyazawa_lulu-san: She’s the one who gave me the file in the first place, through mIRC, and it was really kind of her, really. If it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t have it now. She also was seeding later.
joukido-san: Who gave me the original idea of making a tracker on Mininova (I tried before in other torrent trackers, but they all seemed so confused or you needed to be registered)
Yoshiyuki Akiyama-san: Who helped me to seed the file at the beginning (Really, we both were the only ones seeding out there !!).
oujirou_chan: Who gave me total support ! And gave me more strength to keep trying (even when everything seemed to be falling apart XDD).

And of course, all of you who have the patience, the kindness and time to share with the rest of the people. Thank you very much indeed for being this generous, really ! ^__^

Some people may see this a reason to “roll their eyes” and say “Get a grip!”. But I felt I needed to do this because this is to show to everybody that we can do things by ourselves, together. Maybe we would never get this file if we were to count with the fansubbers…(maybe Sakura-chan might help later XD, though) I’m very happy to know that this fandom proved to be very kind and willing to help ^__^

Second of all, well… we need a translation of that XDD

We still didn’t get any answer from any fansub, and we got to start doing things on our own. So, miyazawa_lulu-san generously offered herself to encode the subtitles on the video, in case someone translate it. But we still don’t have a translator, so… if someone would be kind enough to help, please let me know !!

Another thing, I was thinking that maybe we could do a Poll? To which kind of subtitles we would like… I mean, there are the subtitles “Attached” to the video, the ones we have on all the fansubbers, and there’s the separated file with the subtitles, where in order to see them, you have to load on a player (One of them is BSPlayer).

The good thing about the separated file is that we won’t be needing to re-download the video again, thing that we would HAVE to if we were to have the attached-on-the-video one.

I don’t know if I made myself clear XDD But I’d like to know your opinion about it… just post here… everybody who got, are getting or are planning to get the file.

And last, but not at all least, please, please, please, everybody who got the file, PLEASE let the tracker opened to share with the ones who still didn’t get. I’m sure there are a lot of people who couldn’t be online on this weekend and will be really disappointed to see that no one is sharing it.
Just remember that there was a time you needed them too.

    I know there’re still no translations, but I vote for seperate file because DLing a small software from an HTTP link is better (less time and effort) than DLing a whole new file. 😀

  2. You could provide two different subs at once: hard subs (meaning the subs are “attached” to the video file) and soft subs (subs which are separate from the video file). That way we could satisfy both groups of people.

    And no prob on the Mininova recommendation. I use it all the time when I need to torrent something to a friend.

    • Well, it could be… we’ll have to see with Lulu-san who will encode, to see if that is too much work for her.
      Also, there’s the fact that the number of people sharing can be smaller, since there are people who would prefer the separated subs… and I don’t think those will want to share the “attached” one.

      • Hmmm… Most of the anime I download have the subtitles directly on the video and can’t be taken off. I think most people are used to this actually. Also, many people don’t know about BSplayer. I didn’t until a friend told me about it last week. ^^; So I’d recommend the hard subs since you’ve already provided us with the raw. ^^

  4. Maybe my opinion is not very objective, but I prefer hard subs, attached to the video. The reason is that there’s quite a lot of written text in it, (apart from CLAMP, the interviewers, and the public speaking) and my boyfriend and I were planning to fansub this as a regular anime episode: translating almost everything on screen with similar fonts and a handful of little effects so that it looks good. And with soft subtitles, editing options are more limited… for perfectionists like us, it’s a little bit odd to limit the way we’re used to fansub things ^^u But you’re right, the worst part would be people having to re-download a file that’s rather big… u_u

    • You are very right… I had totally forgot about the multiple talking thing…. they do talk all simultaneously and there are japanese subtitles.. hum, yes… hard subs are more appropriated indeed.

  5. I’d be all about the hard subs personally (the subtitles attached). I guess I’m just used to them though.
    And I think I can do the translations once I finish downloading the file (I hope it’ll be soon… ;_;). I’ve got a plan… ^_^ But if someone else can do it faster (and perhaps more reliably) then that’s totally fine. So I’ll do my best!

  8. People says “many drops can make an ocean” so… ok … maybe that was a little bit exagerate, but you got the idea, don´t you? XD

    As for the translation, I really dont know, I know that the soft subs will be easier to download, but of course the hard subs are maybe more common to everyone. Ok… I think >.< … I vote for the separate file, …. but that is just personal, altough I obviously will help out seeding the subs attached version if that is the result ^__^

    My download just started, so if it does finish (hopefully), I think having the subs separated from the video might be better. I can’t use BS player because it crashes as soon as it starts (don’t know if ZoomPlayer supports separate subs). If the video does get subbed, could you please provide the script in plain text format as well (on here or as a .txt file), in case I can’t get it to work?

  11. Wah, now we’re a lot of people involved with this project XD That’s great ^^ I had an idea reading your comment that… maybe we could all help each other? I mean, timing 44 minutes can be very exhausting *talks from experience ^^u* so maybe sharing the work would be better, I don’t know. When I talked with Clow (my boyfriend), he finally stated he’s going to make a hard-subbed version, and exceptionally (because he doesn’t like soft subs at all ^^u) maybe a soft-subbed one too depending on what people say in these comments. But with all this people wanting to help, maybe we can make the hard subbed while Gray and Arienai make the soft subbed… making two versions would be rather time consuming for just Clow and I, considering the rest of our fansubbing/online duties, so it seems like a good idea to collaborate. And as for translators (also talking from experience) if all of them could share their views, we could have a very complete and exhaustive translation.

    Ack, now I feel I’m not making sense, sorry -_-u

    • Hi! Gray here. ^^V

      The length of the video is formidable, but luckily Arienai’s timer is also a Japanese translator. Yay! This makes things worlds easier for a couple reasons – because without at least some knowledge of the language it’s easy to get lost, and he can also do translation checking/second opinions.

      We did steal your raw, I’m sorry for not addressing this earlier… I’d hoped it’d be okay. I just couldn’t keep myself from starting to translate it. It was a bonus to hear that the group was excied too. And fortunately, Arienai’s got both an IRC network and torrent distribution system. Once a script’s made, it’s just a few days before it’s timed, then encoded and released.

      • Hi! Of course you can continue with the project, don’t worry ^^ And you certainly have, well, everything you need, and that’s great XD Just a couple of questions/requests/offers:

        1. Will you make a hard or soft subbed version?
        2. Considering you have, as I said, everything, the only thing we can offer is our editor/typesetter. He’s very experienced and really perfectionist. For reference (though our fansub group is a spanish one) we did Pitaten, Tales of Phantasia The Animation and currently Tsubasa Chronicle. But if you already have a good one, er, it doesn’t matter ^^u
        3. No prob about the raw ^^ But… if you could credit me as raw provider, it’d be nice :3
        4. May I ask if we could make a spanish version of it when finished? u_u Giving credit, of course.

        Again, you don’t need to apologize: we were all very excited with the prospect of fansubbing this, and had we had a japanese translator sooner, we would have done the same 🙂 And you’re right, it’s really hard to time without a decent amount of japanese knowledge >_

    I didn’t get much of it, but seeing the Clamp at work was amazing!!!

    I was surprised to learn the lived 6 (with Sei Leeza and Akiyama Tamayo, Nanao Sei never left the Kansai) in a 2LDK (2 bedroom, a living room, a dinner room and a kitchen). I heard of that appartment in the Clamp no Eshigoto North Side, but I thought it was a later one, after Tamayo and Leeza have left.

    I was very desapointed by the public’s question, “What are you favorite books” and “what advice would you give to young people who want to become mangaka”, come on! ¬_¬
