Yesterday was the birthday of Mokona, the woman whose hands were blessed by the gods. Congratulations Mokona-sensei!
I’m sure she must be a huge source of inspiration for many artists out there, and I’m also sure she must be responsible for bringing a good part of their readers into reading CLAMP for the first time. The visual appeal was the first contact with CLAMP for most people, I believe, including myself.
That being said, I can only wish this talented and multitasking woman to keep progressing as an artist and keep surprising us with different and beautiful drawing styles. Mangas, Kimonos, cocktails, jewelery, what’s next? You rock, Mokona xD
All members wished her a happy birthday but this time Nekoi hasn’t drawn anything for the occasion (pity). She apologized for that.
A special hotsite has been released for the promotion of CLAMP’s Silver Powder, the series of jewelry designed by Mokona in collaboration with Wargo.
The hotsite features pictures of all 13 pieces available for purchase and a new interview with Mokona (featuring a lovely new picture too!).
CLAMP’s Silver Powder is currently being sold via Wargo’s website (not anymore, all sold out), CLAMP@MOBiLE e-mail order and at some specialized stores in Tokyo.

Young Magazine is planning a special feature with Mokona and Sayaka Oohara (Yuuko’s seiyuu) in commemoration of the 2nd Season of the XXXHOLiC anime.
The talk is set to be published in November and CLAMP-PLA.NET made a special coverage about it.
The NEWS BOARD section of CLAMP-NET.COM is announcing that a series of trading cards game featuring the CLAMP characters is in production.
Entitled CLAMP in CARDLAND and distributed by Upper Deck, the sales are scheduled to begin on the next autumn. CLAMP will draw the package illustrations.
