The volume 1 cover of the CLAMP PREMIUM COLLECTION edition of ANGELIC LAYER has been announced!

Moreover, a box to hold all 5 volumes has been announced and it will be sold via Newtype Anime Market. Reservations will last from May 9th to July 10th.

I really, really liked the cover! ANGELIC LAYER suits the style of CPC so I had a feeling that the cover would look good. All the “movement” and “speed” expected from ANGELIC LAYER are there. And I love that they kept the “rule” of using a brown color for the strokes. It looks really good!

It features Misaki and Hikaru, of course! I wonder if they will be in all covers or if they will have other characters with their angels. It would be good to see the other characters, just like they did for the VHS/DVD covers for the TV Anime. We’ll find out that “pattern” by the next volume.

I was also expecting the covers to be white, just like the original. And just like Chobits, I think all 5 covers will be white. The texts are black and red, which is similar to Chobits as well, but unlike Chobits, I don’t think the text colors will change for every volume.

Oh, and the box design looks nice! They used the recent illustration they did for Young Ace’s 30th anniversary! I thought that was a nice touch.
