Last December, it was announced that Card Captor Sakura Clear Card arc would end with volume 15, originally scheduled to be released in October, 2023.

However, Kodansha and CLAMP went back on that decision again and announced that the series will actually end on volume 16, which is scheduled to be released on April 1st of 2024.

Here’s the official announcement, which was shared in CLAMP’s official website and twitter account:

Volume 15 will come out on November 13th, 2023 (new date).
Volume 16 (final) will come out on April 1st, 2024.

Okay so here we go again…

Likely CLAMP would like more pages to end the series in an even more proper way than volume 15 would allow them. The last volume of the original series, volume 12, had a more relaxing pace after the final battle and maybe they want to have a similar experience with Clear Card. There is also the second season of the anime in the works, which may or may not have impacted this decision. I don’t know if the new season will be ready in time to be aired while the manga is still running. It’s a possibility. To be seen.

On the other hand, there is still no news about XXXHOLiC Rei, which was originally scheduled to be resumed on the Japanese Spring of 2023. It will most likely be affected once again by these changes.
