It’s been announced that the second half of the Card Captor Sakura Clear Card TV Anime will be getting brand new Opening and Ending animation sequence and theme songs.
New Opening Theme Song
Rocket Beat (ロケットビート)
Performed by: Yasuno Kiyono
Lyrics: Iwasato Yuho / Composition/Arrangement: Katsutoshi Kitagawa (Round Table) / Strings Arrangement: Dan Miyagawa
Iwasato Yuho also wrote the lyrics for Maaya Sakamoto’s Platinum, the 3rd Card Captor Sakura Opening Theme song, and Katsutoshi Kitagawa, from Round Table, composed the music for Let Me Be With You (Chobits OP), Magic Number (Kobato. OP) and Oh! Yeah!! (CLAMP IN WONDERLAND 2 ED). It’s nice that they are bringing people who have a background with working with CLAMP anime songs.
The song is described as an “upper tune”.
New Ending Theme Song
Rewind (リワインド)
Performed by: Minori Suzuki (Akiho Shinomoto’s voice actress)
Lyrics/Composition/Arrangement: Yusuke Shirato
Tne song is described as “tricky” and “cute”.
The new OP and ED sequences will air for the first time on Episode 14 (April 8th).

I was expecting to see a new OP and ED around the middle of the season, though ultimately it seems it will take a bit longer, and they won’t be introduced until episode 14 ^^
I’ve been hesitating too: for CLEAR and Jewelry, they advertised them both quite a lot in advance before they were aired? (at least this is the impression I’ve got left of it), so when days and weeks passed us by without any news about new songs for new credits sequences, I started doubting, and wondering if maybe they might not make any ^^;;
But there they are! There were so many posts about them when I woke up this morning XD
I’m sure they will do a fantastic job, the same way they did with the 1st ones.
So I will comfortably sit back and wait for them to be introduced to us 😀

Yeah, it is a lovely surprise. Definitely doesn’t happen very often these days. It goes to show how grand CCS is.
I guess they wanted Maaya to have the ‘bigger slice’ of the cake by giving her 13 episodes (aka the majority).

New theme songs, I’m not ready for it. xD
To think they made the 35 episode of the first season with only one opening. Even Kobato, which isn’t that far back, had only one opening. Well, I guess there is some buck to make by promoting two new artists midway of the season.
