CLAMP NEWS !!

When was the last time we had a Kobato. break again? xD

• Featuring CLAMP:

A talk between CLAMP and the mangaka of Godhand Teru, Kazuki Yamamoto, will be published in Godhand Teru Complete Dictionary Valhöll. The Godhand Teru manga is being published in Shonen Magazine since 2001.

The book will be released by Kodansha on March 17.

• Featuring CLAMP:

A new CLAMP illustration will be published in the pamphlet for the event in commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of Newtype magazine. The publication is entitled Newtype 25th ANNIVERSARY EVENT LIMITED EDITION 1985-2010 and will be released on March 20.

Also part of celebrations of Newtype‘s 25th Anniversary, CLAMP is one of the 9 creators to collaborate with the design of special t-shirts for the occasion. CLAMP’s t-shirt design will have Ioryogi and Mokona. More details will be given in this month’s Newtype magazine.

• Featuring CLAMP:

Here’s the cover of Majou Kan to Ayashii Kagaku Hakase (The Witch’s Mansion and the Mysterious Scientist), the 5th volume of The Witch’s Mansion series:


CLAMP is in charge of drawing the cover and inside illustrations. There is a little puzzle game in Kodansha’s Aoi Tori hotsite with the cover illustration, if anyone is interested in playing it, click here XD

This will be released on March 25.

  2. A little question:

    I tried to check for latest Kobato. chapters on Mangafox, and I notoced that they deleted whole serie due to license.
    Do you know anything about this? Will it be available in the US (and therefore MAYBE I could order it via Ebay to middle-east-Europe)? And why the hell they think that US citizens are the only human beings on the Earth, who read mangas and stuff?… :/

      Yes, it’s been licensed in the US by Del Rey (if I’m not mistaken). Volume 1 and 2 will be released on May 18. Volume 3 will be released on August 17.

        No, it’s been licensed in the US by Yen Press (the same company that’s licensed Kuroshitsuji).

        Kuroshitsuji’s first US volume was released in January and it’s really good. The translation is great and they’ve handled the work nicely (the sound effects are left as is with small translations next to them that don’t get in the way).

        So I have high hopes for Kobato.!

          Yen Press sometimes have a tendency to add their notes in between panels and on the side, which frequently shifts pages and art and ruins the mood in some of the more serious manga.
          I really hope they don’t do the same for Kobato. considering many CLAMP fans read for their art and mood-setups. D:

          Del-Rey, despite their Tsubasa/xxxHOLiC mixup, is probably best at keeping things authentic with CLAMP… in my opinion, of course.

            Yikes, Kuroshitsuji is my only reference for Yen Press. I hope they don’t do anything like that for Kobato. In the Black Butler volume, all their translation notes are in the back, like with Del Ray.

  5. Wow, steady releases!

    The lack of Kobato. breaks makes me happy! I hope it stays steady after the anime ends.

    And I wonder if they’ll run HOLiC for more chapters than Tsubasa…(even if it’s less volumes due to smaller chapters lengths).

      That isn’t impossible at all. Probably more chapters, but yes, less volumes due to smaller chapters lengths.

  6. really, when was the last time that kobato had a break? o.O i think that’s good cuz it needs to catch up with the anime. -_-;; (btw, can’t wait to see the new episode of kobato with tsubasa~! *o*

    Are the author of “Godhand Teru” and CLAMP-sama good friends or something? i have the character guide of tsubasa and i remember that Yamamoto-sensei was having a lil chat with them before…

      Yes they are!! They got to be friends during the time when Tsubasa was being serialized in Shonen Magazine =)

    Where can I download kobato’s manga now? 😥 In my country Kobato isn’t licensed 😦

    Happy birthday! You have no idea how often your LJ brightens up my day with CLAMP news. You introduced me to Kobato and XHolic, and fed my Tsubasa addiction for a long time, so may blessings rain down on you! 😀
