Here’s a few shots from the one-shot that CLAMP drew for the September issue of Kindai Mahjong Original (on sale), taken from Muhyojo and this blog.
The one-shot was 4-pages long with no color pages.
The art looks so different from their usual style, I would say Nekoi drew most (if not all) of it.
If anyone scans the whole thing I’ll post it here.

It does look like Nekoi but yeah, it’s different than CLAMP, like a lot. XD

I hope they never draw a series like this, it’s so ugly xD

If “Mangettes” is like this, i’m not buying it. XD

Why I recommend it:Ok it does look like DBZ a lot. First, the young boy left alone somewhere, and then a lot of similarities.

With only one eye showing (and not even that really showing) it looks like the shonen² version of the TRC style.

You think? I think it looks more like Akagi than anything ^^”

IDK, the faces are barely visible; that makes it hard to compare the style with any of the other styles they use/d. D8 The noses look awful, though. x_X

I’m planning to have [scottish_refugee] scan my pages when I’m done translating them, if no one else has done it by then. The lack of furigana is a pain, so I’m going to bed for now, though.
And yeah, it is very Nekoi. And very the part of Clamp that came up with all the girly humor in Chobits.

Oh cool, I hope everything goes ok with [scottish_refugee] scaning it!

He, I only hope someone does not beat us to it again XD I received the Holic pages only yesterday, but it was released earlier this week. Which is good, by the way, as I told ashura-sama. At least someone else is showing interest in xxxHOLiC ^^

Those pictures look very old-fashioned style. But I agree with romanchan: I would like to read this one-shot.

I would say it looks like the typical Mahjong manga style, straight and simple lines.
I want to read it too =)

Very simple indeed, must have taken them an hour to draw those 4 pages xD

What’s that ? XD
It IS unusual XD
But…but…when I see the inking, I’m not sure that Nekoi-san has drawn that…
I don’t know…
But I am relieved…I was sad to know that I would never had this one-shot in my proper hands, and now it isn’t a matter anymore ! I don’t hate this style, but it isn’t essential or indispensable in my CLAMP collection XD
Nevertheless, I’ll be glad to read it ^^ (butr I don’t mind to own it or not).

Haha, the Fukumoto style doesn’t suit CLAMP at all xD

It does look like Nekoi’s work. I’m strongly reminded of Legal Drug in the 2nd & 3rd scans, though LD is much prettier of course! XD I’d like to read it; that last scan greatly amuses me!

I find it unfortunate that I just finished watching Kaiji, because the old man in the second picture reminds of evil old man in the story. Though I guess it can’t be helped that the guy who wrote Kaiji also wrote Akagi, which is about mah-jong and was published in that magazine…

Heh, Washizu is recognizable, but I’m not sure weither it’s Akagi with him on the second picture or not. Still interesting though, thanks for sharing!

Lol? The noses look strange XD
I also say it was Nekoi *nods* Maybe they tried to copy the original style or something?
