This has got to be one of the cutest splash pages of the whole series. It’s just too adorable xD
So the dead bodies from non-sinners of Valeria keep falling on the Valley, and Yuui keeps pilling them in order to climb to the top. Now, in the flashback with Fei Wang, I don’t remember seeing all those corpses… I wonder what happened to them.
All I know is that seeing him pilling up the corpses, desperately trying to get out (I mean, look what a child like him is doing!) is all very, very touching.
He founds a letter that explains why people who are not sinners were also thrown in the Valley so suddenly. The King got mad? I suppose he was the one who (have ordered to or) killed everybody? They ask help for the neighbor countries (Celes, anyone?).
But the letter goes further, it says that absolutely everything is the twins’ fault. That is a very shocking thing for a child to hear. Between denial and acceptance, he doesn’t give up (I loved that part!), and starts to climb again.
I found the last panel of page 13 so sad! With Fye hanging on the bars from his jail, struggling to watch his brother, oh my ;__;
And then, the last body falls, the King’s. He threw himself in the Valley and pierces his own sword across his neck! But not before telling Yuui that there’s no one else alive in the whole country apart from the twins. What an evil character (and I don’t mean “character” as role, but as personality).
Now we know why Fye’s past could never be aired on television, at least not on NHK XD And there’s probably more to come xD
I wonder if it’s through that letter (that wasn’t sent XD unless someone else did) that will make Ashura-ou come to Valeria, or maybe after realizing that his neighbor country is way too quiet? ^^”
Before killing himself, the King tells Yuui to live in order to make up for his sins (that he never really made). And he did. No, that couldn’t have possibly affected in the choice he made for Fei Wang, or could it?

Aha! Smart ladies, they found a way to *ahem* “fix” their little mistake from the previous chapter by adding a scene they didn’t show in Piffle xDDDDDD I think they never did, or did they? I’m not sure how to take it, it’s hard to believe CLAMP wouldn’t have drawn such an important scene like that, but maybe, just maybe, this is how it was planned since the beginning, to show it in a flashback (yeah, right ^_~ xDDDDDDDDDDDD)
Dream – Reality – Dream – Reality again, we’re used to it by now and we won’t question anymore!
Yuuko mentions that Watanuki’s name has a very important meaning, which only makes me more intrigued to know why.
Watanuki wants to bring some food made by himself to Kohane because she liked when he did so in the first place. So he and Doumeki goes to her house. On the way down they found some girls commenting about the TV show about the mediums and how Kohane was a big lier. That makes Watanuki angry.
When they get to her house, oh noes! Her house is all covered with bad words in graffiti! Oh my! I didn’t know that kind of thing happened in Japan, too XDDDDDDDDDDDD And the poor girl looks all beaten up as well! How horrible… japanese people take too seriously these medium stuff xD
Kobato.:
CLAMP took advantage of the rainy season in Japan to base on this chapter of Kobato.
She must find something to cover herself from the rain drops, but she doesn’t really know what is an umbrella xDDDD Until Ioryogi tells her, that is xD There’s a very interesting part in this chapter where Ioryogi almost falls from her head, and that makes Kobato’s hat to slip a little. The expression on their faces, specially Ioryogi’s, is of total shock. What’s under that hat of hers that she never takes off… an angel ring? XD
Ueda-san is back! I like him a lot ^_____^ He’s the kind of boss everybody would love to have xDDDDDDD
Piffle Princess! The favorite brand of clothes of the CLAMP characters! XDD Inside it, of course, you could only find one of them xD
Hinata-chan! (She is probably Piffle Princess’ favorite client XDDD) Asou-sensei! Sugoooi da na? ^______^ We saw some girls that really looked like her and her friends on the Christmas chapter, and here she is again, confirming that it was really her back then. One more crossover added to Kobato.’s list, I hope Hinata and Asou will appear more often (SDS was so short!).
When are we going to see the GD boys now? *-*
I can’t wait to edit this chapter for CLAMP No Lumiere! Please look forward to it ^___^

Chibi Yuuto's CHRoNiCLEs 
TRC and xxxHOLIC made me sad this week. Nothing as cute as Fai and Yuui can make up for how macabre and tragic it was for them… and poor Kohane-chan, it’s a good thing she has Watanuki and Doumeki for friends.
But Kobato’s return is a happy one. Especially with super-awesome boss Ueda-san and then Hina-chan and Asou-sensei’s appearences. Shall we all continue to pray that she’ll get 100% soon?
When are we going to see the GD boys now? *-*

I’m really shocked with Fye’s past. I knew it would be terrible, but even so sometimes I get very shocked with certain scenes. Just like Kurogane’s past, who had a just as much painful past.

I agree; this splash page is even more cute than the baby Kuro one (I hope we get baby twins, but probably not). I felt so sad for Yuui, doing all he could. He’s been trying to climb that wall for so long… I loved Yui’s face when he read the letter. It was so touching. And then, for the first time, he actually cries. He’s so determined.
I freaked out when I saw the king. I’m going to have nightmares. It has officially taken first place in my list of scary images (second comes clowns, then mascots). It was sooo sick! I wanted to cry!!!
I hope next chapter is one that starts to answer questions!!

For xxxHOLiC, I was right when I said that for CLAMP birthdays are really important XDD But I don’t now what’s up with all that April 1rst connection. Yeah all have their birthday this day and then… O.O Whatever, it looks that the people hurt Kohane, but I bet her mother was part of them.
And Kobato is just so cute, always doing all that stupid-adorable things XDD

For Tsubasa, I’ve been wondering this for a while but doesn’t this chapter mean King Ashura is from a different country? His outfit doesn’t have all the wool that everyone else in that world wears…
I see Kobato is taking on a bit of the meditative aspects from xxxholic, too. And the art is so wonderful, you can see how they spend extra time on this series..

The mix between Mokona and Nekoi is interesting! The main characters are done by Mokona but the street passer-bys are done by Nekoi ^__^

Most definatly! This is certainly one of Clamps more violent pasts to date! (also very scarring for a child of Fye/Yuui’s age to witness)

As to xxxHOLIC I’m still baffled by the dream/reality/dream thing and I can’t help but feel that all the current loose ends in the plot line are going to be tied up in a very intense/graphic manner!

That’s the point, such small children, in that age, seeing all those morbid things. It’s awful. CLAMP really want to shock us.

about Tsubasa i think is too much for the poor boys they have not guilt at all the madness of the emperor and the mother is all that happens there is to creepy the scene of the emperor killing himself (i wonder is shonen magazine so children of 12 years old see this???)

I’m also wondering that! XDDDDD Well, I’m glad CLAMP are not being censored… maybe they feel like the readers who were 12 when Tsubasa started, are now 16 and they can handle all the gory-ness.

I guess Fye’s past still 2 or 3 chapters to go. I can’t help but start to suspecting… Can Yui is the one who lived while Fay is the one who really dies? Probably he use the ‘Fay’ name to attone for his sin. It could be right? Yui is the one who is really working and Fay nearly do nothing beside staring at his twin brother. When FWR propose the idea, it could be that he was already tired, added with some trauma his father had created, and the fact that their country is literally not exist anymore (with no citizen, it can’t be called as country…).
I had a strong impression that Fay is in fact Yui…

I wonder if Kohane was beaten up be angry fans or by her mother? (I don’t trust that woman) Maybe she’ll accuse Watanuki and Doumeki to be responsive of her daughter’s mistake, because they gave her something unpure to drink … Hopefully Watanuki have Doumeki with him. ^^;

Asou and hinata too! I can’t wait for the Gouhou Drug boys and Itchan (I really hope to see him again). If Tsubasa is the manga to see all the Clamp characters in a new context, Kobato is the one to see them in their familiar form (except for those from series in paralel dimension). I wonder if we’ll see the Angelic Layer crew. … Oh, yeah, the actual plot … er … well, that’s Kobato working her best with umbrellas, she almost made it! I wonder if the story will actually start before the 12th chapter or if we’ll only get unrelated cute stories (I want to see how she got her appartement and where that suitcase + umbrella come from).

CLAMP got too carried away with Tsubasa, now they are putting too much crossovers in everything
To Clamp’s defense, there’s not much they can do to fill a full tankoubon of prequel that doesn’t give anything away of the series’s main plot, but still entertain both the readers who haven’t read the Sunday GX nor the Clamp Newtype chapters nor any Clamp work (there might be some retarded left) and the fan who followed the series in the sunday GX and has read all the Clamp series. Crossovers inside consequence-less stories is almost all Clamp can do.
It’s like trying to write a Harry Potter prequel where you can’t make the kid aware of the wizard world, where you can’t give away stuff like Mrs Figg is a Squib and where you can’t even talk of Voldemort. It would be pretty much Harry’s daily life where he encounter weird people and the Dursey being as mean as usual and as normal as possible. Maybe you can have him go to the Granger’s dental clinic, but that’s pretty much about it.

Sure, these 16 pages long chapters where the plot can’t go forwards is rather irksome, but there would be no point to it if they don’t intent to publish the Sunday GX story. Plus, the fact that they publish the first chapters in the Clamp Newtype pretty much confirm Kadokawa is free to print that part too. I just hope they’ll publish vol. 2 in another magazine where the chapters can be longer. ^^;
Oh, I totally forgot Tsubasa yesterday! Well, not much to say beside that the kids are now the only living ones in Valeria. It’s a sad story and … why do Clamp always kill one of the twins! that’s just too cruel. ~_~ … and why Yuui can’t think of taking bricks out to make steadier steps, he can weaken the mortar with sroll’s shaft or the king’s sword … well, he’s just a poor little boy maybe I’m expecting too much of him. ^^; (and I have read too much of Fullmetal Alchemist this week)

Me too!! But don’t you think it’s going to be weird for those who started to follow Kobato. in Newtype? I mean, chapter 12 ends, then, on the next chapter the story would be 1-volume ahead xD CLAMP should put a note “Read vol. 1, in stores.” XDDD

Piling up the corpses is a good idea, although he could pile up snow too, there’s always some coming anyway. And I would have collect some clothes to make a rope, he would just need to find a way to nail it to the wall as he progress up! … maybe I’m overthinking it. ^^;

If you look carefully at chapter 148 you will see the corpses piles _BEHIND_ Yui, in that chapter he is trying to climb the tower, not the hole wall, he has lost all hope and only wanted to reach for Fay…. this whole chapter is so sad….

That is my favourite page too, when he starts fiercily and almost crying to climb the wall again… knowing him, knowing how gentle, kind and noble Fay is after 20 vols, seeing this now is too painful …. I love and hate the way how Clamp makes me love a character to later make ME and him suffer… T_T

I would love TRC to end on 2008, but lately I’ve been more inclined to beginning of 2009.
About Asou, Hinata and Kobato.’s pages, this limitation of 14 pages is what ruins everything! I REALLY hope they increase this number or move to a new magazine already >_lol I never saw the name shortened like that XD

I feel for both of them. Siblings have this love, but the love between twins is very strong. I’ve seen many twins who have exhibited that love, and I’m glad that CLAMP has given that reality the spotlight.
Is it my imagination, or has Fye seen what the emperor was doing to Yuui at that very moment (when he corners him)? On page 17, when Fye desperately calls out Yuui’s name? Did he call his name out because he saw what was happening, or is it because he missed his twin?
T_T and I’m going to have nightmares because of page 18. T_T definitely, definitely one of the scariest images I’ve come across in TRC.

Kurogane’s past was very cruel for sure… and so is Fye’s. Both of them had pasts in the same level of cruelty.

I don’t think it was a mistake… For me they just wanted to make people think that Sakura had recovered some of her memories of Shaoran, just to crush this hope in this chap. I love how they love to mess with people’s minds XD

I think the grafitti in this chapter of Holic is probably more shocking to the Japanese readership even than to us. I can’t really think of any instance of seeing grafitti while I was in Japan. Kohane getting beat up, not so unheard of, but grafitti? Yeah, they must really hate her.
Hmm, I didn’t even think of that flashback panel as a “mistake.” “Artistic license” maybe. ^^_^ Besides, if they’d shown us that scene in Piffle, it wouldn’t mean as much as it does now.
Yuuko looked so sad in this chapter! It does not make me optimistic for Watanuki.
If Fai did decide to live to make up for his sins, what did he do before this journey that even began to atone?

Yeah, maybe they thought they would lose the cliffhanger that that chapter caused xDDDD But what I found weird is that not even the editor’s tag said something about it. If they wanted us to think that she remembered, I think the editor would have written “TENSION!! DID SAKURA FINALLY REMEMBER???” or something like that XDDDD

I really enjoy reading your comments about chapters. I also like to read all the theories LJ users wrote about them, it specially have helped me to understand TRC confusing chapters ^_^U, make my own theories and pay more attention to details. I did it! SOOOO HARD! I think I got “Troll” in this one XDDDDDDDDDD Some of the questions were impossible to know basing on the books, and I had to base on my own guts to answer to them ^^””

The Tsubasa chapter is very depressing. Poor boys. I wonder why the king went mad, was it because of the twins? And the part that the king tells Yuui to live makes me wonder if Yuui is Fay because Fay has said that he can’t die.
On another note, the Kobato splashes are always so cute! ^_^

Fay’s past is really horrible… Just because they were born, the whole country have been killed ! That’s just scary… And they’ve done anything, that’s just beacause of the misfortune…
The king REALLY got mad !! That’s just horrible when he killed himself in front of Yuui ! Even the fact that he threw himself in the valley is scary … XD
I have to say that I agree with everyone saying that the splash page is cute. My eyes won’t close when I see it XD
About Holic, there’s something I don’t understand, did Shaolan said to Sakura that his birthday was on April 1st ? Didn’t Sakura chose Shaolan’s birthday beacause he didn’t know when it was ? Or did I miss something ? XD

Yes, she did choose it, but since she forgot her memories about Syaoran, she couldn’t remember that scene. So Syaoran told her in Piffle, occasionally ^^

Here’s my latest theory! I think the malediction in Valeria was caused by a feather but was associated to the twin’s birth by the king. The feather might be the one that created Chii or the one Fye gave back to Shaoran in the first visited world.
