BEAUTIFUL chapter!
Interesting splash page, with Freya/Infinity version of the splash page from 2 chapters ago.
Before starting, I must say that I loved the frame composition of this chapter. The way they were displayed on the page, and how many of the frames have no speech balloons at all, but all of them speak for themselves.
Out, the stab was right in the middle of Sakura’s stomach, I didn’t think it would be that accurate.
On page 3 we have the confirmation by CLAMP that this was part of Sakura’s vision, judging by Kurogane and Syaoran’s expression that are just like the ones from her vision. However, I wonder if there’s something else that she saw…
Then we have Syaoran screaming Sakura’s name in hiragana, making more close to reality my theories that the Syaoran from the tube scene is this Syaoran.
And I was right on my guess about the 3 worlds ! I thought the 3rd world was the one Sakura wanted to go ! Demo, what if the world that she wants to go is Japan? XD Then the people who thought the 3rd world was XXXHOLiC’s world wouldn’t be wrong either xD Yuuko doesn’t mention which world it is, and Sakura was sleeping when she was there, she can’t remember how it looks like.
“The chances are 2 to 1.” … NAA~~ANI? @_@ More nonsense (that soon we’ll find out it’s not) sentences @_@
I believe Fye reacted the way he did because he thought he had just killed Sakura (and that’s only half of his power ^^”), which is very nice, he just couldn’t believe what he had done.
And then, the WTF element of the chapter: Sakura’s mind separating from her body! WTF? CLAMP are getting too far with the duplications xD First Syaoran, then the egg, and now Sakura too? xD
I love the way they drew her mind “un-merging” from her body. That whole sequence was simply awesome! Because of how shocking (for Sakura’s blood-strained body) and yet sweet (for Sakura’s soul in touch with Fye) it was. I love this crazy paradox of feelings (ah, CLAMP!)
But this raised a bunch of new questions, like, why exactly this happened? Maybe because she really really wanted to avoid it? And Sakura said that she had made it on time (“The future can be changed, because Kotori told me so!”). So, is this ALL of her vision? Why she saw the world she wanted to go, then? Is there something else that is bound to happen there that she wants to avoid too, or was this the only thing?
And then the body goes to Celes and the soul goes to the world she wanted to go? Wait, wait. This is at the least very interesting, because we are not going to have 2 different points of views of the same story, like we originally thought, but 3! I’m very curious to see how CLAMP will explore that.
I’m also curious to see what Fye, Kurogane and Fye are going to do next Syaoran will run after her and meet her at the tube xD
But much more than that, I’m curious about the “body”. The soul/mind sounds more likely to run around by it’s own, but the body??? How is it gonna be able to walk and think without the soul/mind? O.o And what’s more, that body is almost a dead-body XDDD I wonder if Ashura-ou will do something about it (we know he’s into helping little abandoned kids).
Also, wasn’t the Sakura without her feathers an empty shell that would die if she stayed for too long like that, according to Yuuko? Isn’t the “body” in the same situation now?
And what’s the 3rd world? >.< XXXHOLiC's? If so, we would be seeing Sakura's soul arriving at Yuuko's shop on the next chapter of XXXHOLiC (that will come out in the same week of chapter 150 xD) That would be too perfect, but so not happening xD I hate the fact that we can see Celes at the last page, near Chii, but we can't see which world Freya is near of.
Honestly, we need a couple of answers now. Everything is going absolutely great, the chapters are getting more and more interesting, but it's hard to speculate like that XDDD
We need some breath.

Also, I’ve noticed Tsubasa’s got a bit of fixation on doubles. Syaoran and Syaoran, Mokona and Mokona, Fay and Fay, the two eggs, Chii and Freya…plus, the whole thing with Holic and Tsubasa being mirroring series. If you want to extend it to twins, we’ve got Subaru and Kamui as well.

It’s too much xDDD Over the past few chapters we came up with more questions than during over the whole series, probably XDDDDDDDDD I think now that the volume is over, I hope they’ll use the next few chapters to make a “digestion” of what just happened.

I don’t know, unless the digestion includes explanation i’d just prefer more stuff happening. this chapter was fantastic. i don’t know that i’ve ever read another manga chapter with my mouth literally hanging open.
The thing I’m most puzzled about at this point is why Sakura said that “I was in time” (or “We were in time”, you can’t tell sentence subjects with Japanese unless it’s explicit). In time for what? How? She still got stabbed! Wasn’t she trying to avoid that? If not, what was she trying to avoid? I don’t get it at all.
I was also struck by Shaoran shouting “Sakura!” with no honorific, and also I don’t think I’ve ever felt worse for Fai, period. The look on his face…I was surprised he didn’t grab the sword and kill himself right there. Maybe that’s why Sakura made him promise that he would value himself foremost above all. In fact, that might makes sense, given that she didn’t seem too bothered by the stabbing.
Her soul seems a lot more competent and calm on its own than it does when it’s in her body. I wouldn’t be surprised if her body is put into some sort of stasis in Ceres; they seem to have a specialty of that there (cough! Ashura! cough!). I guess her feathers/power aren’t quite the same as her soul; it wouldn’t make sense if she’d lost that at the beginning too.
Yeah, what I meant by “digestion” was to get some answers to all of these questions. For example, Fye has to explain better about his curse for the others (they don’t know anything about it).

I agree xD I think the only way the body can survive is with Ashura-ou’s help. He will either cure her wounds with his fantastic magic xD Or he’ll give her a temporary mind or something XD

I read ‘s theory about that, it’s on a spanish forum.
But basically it’s about Fay/Kurogane, Celes/Kuro’s Japan ying-yang; because of we are not expecting that and because Ashura-ou and Tomoyo.
I also second that theory, if half Sakura went to Celes the logical is that the other half went to Nihon… and Tomoyo _has_ to have more role in this story, this is her chance ^______^

I think it is dead now anyway…EVEN if not, it cannot move without a soul, so it’s not that different from being dead @@(well unless if Sakura manages to merge the two parts again later…)

This chapter was VERY quick to read, but so intense and full of visual-reading, I really liked it ^^ They use that resource a lot in X, the drawings speak for themselves.

and this was a very beautiful chapter so well acomplished not only art, emotions, history telling, angst and in making us totally crazy and in love with Clamp!!!!

I heard about that theory that Sakura will “host” herself inside Freya. But I think that’s not gonna happen (but that’s just what I think xD). But it’s a possibility, after all, how is that people are going to see her and talk to her?
It seems that the latest chapters are raising more questions than solving the ones we already had xDDDD
However, this chapter is pretty interesting. As you say, there many speechless pages and yet they are able to communicate us all what is happening (perhaps, even more if the indeed had a speech).

I didn’t even think of soul splitting till you said this. Clow Reed was able to split is soul in two, and we know Sakura is more powerfull than Reed….
On another note, I give up trying to figure out this series. After all of this madness and angst and such I’ll be very upset if it has a depressing ending. CLAMP seems to be under the disallusion that all their series have happy endings. I’m still hoping for a CCS/Magic Knight style happy ending and not the WTF endings of Tokyo Babylon and RG Veda etc.
I think Saukra had already separeted herself from her body in the Tokyo arc…. But I can’t remember that very well and I don’t have those scans in my pc to check that u.u

Well, yeah, I think is coherent enough for the time being XP Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense at all. I like to believe that Sakura’s magic is stronger than Fye’s now, and that she was able to divide herself in two thanks to her power (I really don’t think there’s a better explanation to that).

Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! Oh wow!! This chapter was so very emotional that I almost cried. *sobs* It was very touching from the beginning to the end. I really adore the way that Sakura-hime was hugging Fai after he was out of control with his destructive powers. Sugoi, considering the he only has half of his magical powers… O__O

I adore the way that CLAMP showed the pages such as Fai unleashing that destructive power, when Sakura-hime’s wounded body is separated from her soul, and most of all…that beautiful final page of her body and soul going to Chii and Freya. Subarashii desu wa!!

What a chapter this week. Artistic, expressive, suspenseful and… full of new questions.
What will become of Sakura’s body going to Ceres? Will it be frozen, waiting for her friends, like the girl in Shira-hime Syo? Will it be healed by Ashura-Oh? Will she become a new zombie going around (“Must… Find… Feather…”) like another soulless character we know of?
What will her soul do? What a soul without a body can do in Clamp Universe? But since it’s Sakura she may have some extra powers. To where is she heading? A new world she probably saw in her vision? And what if she failed and get somewhere else (and I have the feeling she will)? And, will the world that C!Syaoran destroyed after Tokyo be repaired by the price won in the tournament? ^_~
And the boys? Are they heading to Ceres to follow Sakura’s body? Are they going after Seishirou? Are they going to beat Fay’s story out of him? Are do a big collective hug ♥ to ease Fye’s mind (quite unlikely seeing Kuragane’s face in last pages ¬_¬)?
And in xxxHolic, what will be the consequences of it all? But the biggest question: since Yuuko is likely going to take Sakura’s luck in next chapters, when will Himawari-chan inherit it? ^_~

Of course the portal will close himself up. But Ohkawa said that the next world will be Ceres and hitsuzen being hitsuzen, rest assured that our three favorite travel compadres will end up there as soon as Mokona will bring them to a brand new world. ^_~

I’m not suuuure…. I read a LOT of translations saying that Sakura’s feathers were her “soul”. Isn’t “kokoro” the japanese word used for heart, mind and soul too?

I didn’t get a chance to read all the comments on here, so I don’t know if someone’s already said it but…
I think this is what Sakura wanted. She wasn’t afraid of this happening – she was afraid of this not happening at the exact second of Freya and Chii resonating, allowing her to soul and body to separate, and her soul to go to the next world.
What if in the next world, you can’t exist as a body, you have to be a soul to be admitted to it? Or what if she is going to xxxHolic like other people have theorized, giving a reason for Watanuki to be able to see ghosts. If he couldn’t, he wouldn’t be able to see Sakura and help her in whatever she needs to do.
And I can’t remember if she said this anywwhere in the last couple chapters (I’m usually so excited I have to read it three times just to absorb the words), but I think she’s going to where she’ll meet C!Shaoran, and try to make everything right with him. He’s been gone for too many chapters… time to bring him back!
I keep thinking next week can’t possibly be as exciting as this week, and they couldn’t possibly pose anymore questions… but they always seem to manage it. Answer one, and pose 10 more.

That is what makes me believe that she’s going to XXXHOLiC’s world. But I’m not sure xDDD It seems a little too good to be true XDDD

Maybe Ashura-ou will put Sakura’s body in sleep as Fye did with him until her soul have done all the thing she wanted to do… I can’t remember a Clamp’s world where soul can “live” except the dream world so I think she will meet a yumemi. Actually it will be nice if she goes in CCS world meet original!Sakura 🙂

That’s a very interesting theory o.o If you put it that way, CLAMP wouldn’t have to show what’s going in Celes ALL the time, and focus more on the other worlds.

Ok first thanks second if they’re only three worlds that certainly means two things:clone Syaoran got the rest of the missing feathers,and Seishirou either reappears in one of these three worlds or in the world were they are going to have their final confortation with Fey Wong(that’s either in Clow Country or his own dimension)either may not count in the three world thing cause Clow’s Sakura’s homeland and they’ll propably be forced to go to Fey Wong’s place.Anyway Yuujo needs to answer a few things not just about Fey but

I believe Fye reacted the way he did because he thought he had just killed Sakura (and that’s only half of his power ^^”), which is very nice, he just couldn’t believe what he had done.
Just imagine yourself doing that, how would you react? I love the page where his face changes while remembers and realizes what he has done… so emotive ;_; and with such power the ‘explosion’ was a must ;D
Sakura’s body will be fine in Celes, is cold enough for good conservation of dead bodies XD And remember one detail, Fay told he could not make healing magic, and now is clear enough his magic is totally destructive, but I DO BET that Ashura-ou can ^_^

This was indeed a beautiful chapter. Fye breaking down was … is it right to say beautiful in this situation? I think it’s because I love lots of angst. And CLAMP doesn’t go wrong there. Especially with all his flashbacks of Sakura.
Sakura/Fye hug V.2 was beautiful. At the end of this chapter you really did realize that there’s going to be a long arc ahead of us. And I’m just as baffled as everyone else to see how it’s going to play out. I mean, we’re going to be following, Fye, Kurogane and rSyaoran and then there’s body Sakura, and soul Sakura, if I’m not mistaken.
Maybe I should start reading xxxHolic, it seems both mangas cross over a lot, so I get confused as to what the hell’s going on sometimes when Yuuko comes into it. T_T
Wow, Clamp really gets into it, I was just reading some random magazine “All about Clamp” or smth, it was all about Clamp mangas ’till Chobits [it’s from 2001 or 2002 I think], and I think I can say that Clamp gets more and more angsty, chapter by chapter. Well, it’s nothing new, but it seems like they are testing just how much angst they can cast upon their characters…
Aha! 50-50! Because they couldn’t tell if it would be her body or her soul that would go to the world she wanted to go to! So she could have ended up with her body in that next world, and her soul hanging out in Ceres with nothing to do! Of course!

Yes, I do think she planned it all. But I don’t think the “50/50 chance of getting to world she wanted” has anything to do with her body being split. I think she STILL has 50/50 chances. I mean, it’s not garanteed that she’ll arrive to the world she wanted to. It’s just what I was thinking until now xDDDD
Hmm, well, granted she hasn’t actually gone to the next world yet, so we don’t know if it’s the one she wanted. But I do think the 50% chance refers to the fact that she’s connected to two worlds, so there’s a one in two chance she’ll end up in the one she wanted, as opposed to Ceres. It just seems to make sense. Why else would there be such an exact figure? If Yuuko had said “The chance is still maybe one in 10”, then that’d be a different matter. It’s a figure of speech. But one in two? That’s precise. There’s a choice of two worlds, Ceres or the other one. That’s what I think, anyway.

I really loved the last volume of Tsubasa, too, even though there were moments that made me really suffer – Sakura’s last “Kotori” words have eased that angst at least a little, though – so, there is still a hope in a happy ending! *whew*. Actually I think that the world Sakura wants to go to might be Fei Wang Reed’s world – maybe she just wants to put an end to it all, and if she goes there without a body, it means that Fei Wang Reed can’t get it, which would make a sense. However, I’ll rather not make up theories about the very next chapters any more, because lately they have been so surprising that it is almost impossible to guess out what happens next! LOL
Instead of it, I have a theory that could perhaps interest you, as it comes from someone who puts a lot of thoughts to the Sakura x Real!Syaoran matter! ^__^
Here it goes: has anyone ever considered the tube scene not being the FUTURE, but the PAST??!!
I mean, we already know that with the power of Sakura’s feathers, Fei Wang Reed will have the power to cross TIME, which means he can change the past, and thus the present and the future – exactly what happened in Shara and what was VERY emphasized. And we also already know that something actually HAS happened in the past and it is happening “the second time”, with FWR being “prepared better”! O.o
Another thing: Yuuko, who seems to know everything, keeps a little version of the tube, while we know that she is really “fetishistic”! ^_____^
And then there’s all R!Syaoran’s behaviour: he “already knew about his (FWR’s) plans”, he behaves like he’s known Sakura for a very long time (he understands her very well and is very gentle towards her), he calls her name in hiragana without any honorifics EXACTLY like in the tube (perhaps, exactly like what he called her in the past when THOSE TWO were lovers…? O.o), he’s always looking at her with extremely sad eyes but he has never really shown any direct signs of being IN LOVE with her (perhaps, any more…? O.o)
And, furthermore, “princess Sakura” doesn’t really behave/talk(!!!) exactly the same as the CCS Kinomoto Sakura, while R!Syaoran is written PRECISELY the same as the CCS one. Well, and I could go on and on.
My bet is that on all the pics of Sakura in the tube dress and Syaoran in the C!Syaoran’s dress are R!Syaoran from the past (that he probably REMEMBERS – perhaps it’s one of the things he paid a price for…?) and Sakura from the past – Sakura that might have been the same as the CCS one, but we have never really met her, because she changed after what happened in the tube (or something like this). Maybe R!Syaoran knows that he can never get his Sakura back, so he at least wants to protect this new self of her, even though he knows he’s lost her forever. I always thought that the thing he wants to “get back” is Sakura’s love, but now I tend to think he actually wants to “return a heart” to the C!Syaoran, who is actually the right one for “Sakura-hime”. That may bring some pretty interesting plots in the future. (I can’t get all the talk about “merging and resonating” and “blending into one” out of my head!!!%x)
Well, sorry for the extremely long post, I just can’t stop when I start to theorize about Tsubasa!!!!%x *blushes furiously* I know that this theory might prove totally wrong in any moment, but I just can’t help liking it! ^___~

What a lovely chapter 😀 I just love Fai’s expressions, especially when Sakura is calming him down. He’s not screaming like a banshee, but still has a healthy edge of insanity to his expression. I wonder if he’s going to regress into his own little world of guilt like Kamui/Subaru, or try something more drastic (RGveda style?)

One Syaoran meets the mind in the tube (clone, ahem ahem) and the other gets the body. CLAMP wouldn’t hold back on the drama, so of course they wouldn’t forget C!Syaoran, and I think that we’re trying to bring him back, because it seems like C!Syaoran and TRC Sakura were made for eachother.
