CLAMP Internet Radio #11 + XXXHOLiC Interview + 500+ Friends !

They started the show wishing Nekoi a happy birthday, since her birthday was on January 21st.

This episode was a special program dedicated to the event held on January 7th, CLAMP New Year’s Party ~Four citizens of Special New Year’s food fortress~ (even Ohkawa recognized that’s such a complicated name xD). They aired segments of the event and CLAMP would later comment about them, in the studio.

The first corner was Code Geass. Some Staff members were there, I think the director? I can’t tell exactly what happened because I’m clueless when it comes to Code Geass ^^” However, I think CLAMP asked why the title “Code Geass”.

The next corner was Tsubasa’s. And as I previously posted here, Inada Tetsu attended as a guest. They aired this particular part (I would rather prefer the part where they talked about the future of the series but, oh well…).

The following corner was XXXHOLiC’s. Nekoi imitated Mokona a little (so cute xD) and the whole segment was centered on a discussion about Watanuki, Doumeki and even Haruka-san’s favorite person ! I know I blooped on the last show about the whole Watanuki’s boyfriend thing, but I’m quite sure about this one. However, I don’t think the conversation revealed anything, and there was a rather comical tone in it.

Then, in the studio, they talked about the quiz that they held at the event, and that among the editors, the one who won the quiz was Tsubasa’s editor Sugawara-san (I think…?).

The next corner was Kakyou and Kogane’s one, CLAMP’s cats. As I posted here previously, a video with the cats was projected while CLAMP talked about them, and we discover in this show that one of the things that they discussed was that the design of the Angel Buranche, of Angelic Layer, was based on Kogane (the white cat). Hence why Ame Agari is being played on the background ^-^

Next, Kobato.’s corner. There’s a song playing in the background, that I never heard xD I’m not sure if it’s CLAMP IN WONDERLAND 2 theme song “action!”, it doesn’t sound like Maaya Sakamoto but… we never know ^^”

EDIT: That song is MKR’s first ED Theme, Asu e no Yuuki (I know, shame on me, I didn’t know! XD). Thanks -san ^^

In the segment they aired, it looked like they discussed a lot about Ioryogi, as expected, and that the next chapter of Kobato. will be about the Valentine’s? I wouldn’t doubt about that ^^

They talked about the original menu of the event too, which you can see in more details here.

Then at the end of the show they did a little advertising for the CLAMP Mokona no Okimonokimono book xD

They will be taking a 3-weeks break between episodes. The next one will be out only on February 12th.

Nekoi Tsubaki X Araki Hirohiko Special Talk:

usomitai-san kindly told me that a translation from the special talk of Nekoi Tsubaki and Araki Hirohiko (the author of JoJo Bizarre Adventures) can be found here. Amazingly translated by petronia-san ^^ This interview was first published in the XXXHOLiC Official Guide Book.

As you might know, CLAMP is a huge fan of Araki, and although it was supposed to be about XXXHOLiC, the talk was mainly focused on Araki, if you ask me xD But there are still some very interesting parts about the process of making XXXHOLiC.

500+ Friends!

    oh, and the song playing in the background while they were talking about Kobato….it’s ‘Asu e no Yuuki”, the ending theme to the first season of Magic Knight Rayearth ^_^ (That’s what got me started on CLAMP! woo! hehe)

        Yeah, MKR season 1….although it’s a typical monster-of-the-day anime, I very much enjoy it! MKR was the first subbed anime I ever saw (and the first anime that wasn’t Pokemon ^_^) AND it was the first manga I ever read…so you can see why it has a special place in my heart lol (and it got me hooked on CLAMP! WOO HOO! ….god, it’s been 8 years since then!!! =_= lol *old*)

        But what I want to know….why play that song when talking about Kobato? lol hmmmmm

          Oh no, I would give ANYTHING to be able to watch it… but it wasn’t my choice, no good subbed versions available, I just never had the opportunity =_=

            lol yeah ^_^ but wouldn’t it be hysterical if there was some strange link between the two series that so far no one has noticed? (I’m not saying there is….but still lol)

            sorry to hear about your MKR dilemma >_< Yeah, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find it online….I had to buy all mine. Although the entire first season is now available on dvd for a reasonable price (in America anyway….). I think the second season is still 3 times as expensive though, for some odd reason. Well, good luck with that! I hope you get to see them soon X3

              • Ah, I bought that in a DVD box set last month. I thought I might share it, since there doesn’t seem to be any high quality, low file size subs out there. When I get a new computer that won’t choke if I try to encode things, I’ll share them for you.
