Time to comment on XXXHOLiC.
The scans are up since Wednesday at the RoR, but only now I could sit and talk about it (yesterday SAW III got me busy ^^”)
First of all, congratulations to XXXHOLiC for selling over 6.600 millions of copies around the world. Last time we heard it was 5.800, so almost a million more within a month ^_^
About the splash page, it reminded me of Tokyo Babylon somehow xD I don’t know if it is because of the sunflowers or for the fact that the guys are wearing gloves, It just did ^^”
I am so happy that Ame and Zashiki Warashi appeared on the color pages this time (thank you, CLAMP !). I love them both, specially Ame Warashi. Her hair is definitely blue on the manga, then, while Zashiki’s is really black. I don’t know why they changed in the anime, it doesn’t bug me the red one, but if I were to choose it, I would definitely pick the blue one. Also loved their clothes, and again, specially Ame Warashi’s ^^
New thing to me was to see Watanuki’s eyes multi-colored. Sharing an eye with Doumeki is surely clear now. However, I don’t get why his eyes weren’t like that in Volume 10’s color pages. You can really see his eyes are they are both blue.
So, either CLAMP decided just now that from now on they’ll color them like this, or (which is the one I’ll believe for the time being) maybe Doumeki was “seeing through” Watanuki in this very moment. Remember that they don’t share the same “vision” 24hrs a day and 7 days per week, only when Watanuki gets “overwhelmed”, or something like that (like when Doumeki saw the Thunder creature). Which is why I think Doumeki saw the scene and that’s why his other eye is golden. We’ll see later if Doumeki will mention anything.
Zashiki Warashi is really something xD She reminds me of Shuuko from AL with all her intense blushings ^^ I like this pairing, Zashiki and Watanuki *avoids tomatoes* And she was wearing the little hair things he gave to her ^_^
Ame Warashi, though, is even better xD I love her grumpy personality and the way she treats Watanuki XD Sometimes I get the feeling she’s a bit jealous of Zashiki Warashi ^^

Oho~ new clues about Watanuki’s importance. I don’t know why but, the thing that came to my mind when I read this was that Watanuki wasn’t supposed to be alive. Maybe he was supposed to die with his parents? So what, now he’s “The Boy Who Lived”? ¬¬
Stupid jokes aside, Ame Warashi said something to think over. I just hope that, by the “Eh?” Watanuki made, he’s gonna ask Yuuko what she meant by that. (Or maybe Doumeki heard/saw it? O.o)
So Himawari changed her hairstyle in order to hide the scars she got instead of Watanuki. It’s really sweet of her to do that ^__^ Watanuki gave her the little bird, still unnamed xD
The chapter ended without any kind of cliffhangers, so I wonder what will be the theme of this arc. I hope it has to do with the hints thrown by Ame Warashi.
Before leaving, I would like to share something with the Doumeki and Haruka fans ^^
As I was surfing and saving the pics from Nekoi’s Private Board (at PLA-NET), I noticed that after pic 68, it jumped to pic 70 (and they name them in numerical order). So I wondered where number 69 was O.o I typed the URL replacing the number 69 and to my surprise, here’s what I found:
It’s Haruka and chibi!Doumeki ! O.O Wearing a kimono, and long hair too ! I wonder if Nekoi was gonna post it but didn’t because she thought it was too spoilery? O.o Either way, I thought some of you would like it ^__^ (ladydarkmoon and canon_4_life specially ^^)

Watanuki’s eyes were the first thing I noticed when I read the chapter, but Doumeki may have seen the Ame-warashi conversation. It seemed to bother Watanuki, but of course we’re distracted from it. DX

Indeed the death of Watanuki’s parents is a subject still very un-touched. I wonder if it’ll serve just as a background or if there’s a bigger meaning behind it.

That’s right o.o CLAMP said on PASTEL that Watanuki is a character made for an “event” that is gonna happen in the future. So maybe he must be alive at any cost in other to be there when that event comes.

This chapter had almost everything! First of all, welcome back Zashiki Warashi and Ame Warashi. Zashiki Warashi was so cute when she was shy, blushing, and showing how much he cares for Watanuki.

Oh my Chibi-Yuuto, so Harry Potter-ish! XDDDDD
Himawari, looking good with that new hairdo and great to see Doumeki back too. ^__^ I got a little angry because I think that Doumeki tried to say something and Watanuki just had to yell at him. *grrrr*. But most of all, it was all about the “Peep Bird” once again. That bird is just like TRC’s shiro manjuu being all kawaii and hanging on people’s heads and shoulders. It just melts my heart when it goes “Pi!” (Fangirl “Squee” Level: Meltdown Alert!!) and it has a nice touch being on Watanuki and later on Himawari. I would name it “Pa” like the baseball league since I like baseball being a Chicago Cubs fan.
Demo OH MY GOSH, Haruka and chibi!Doumeki: Fangirl “Squee” Level: Beyond Meltdown Alert!! *faints* Uwaaa, chibi!Doumeki is hontou kawaii in his kimono and my that lovely hairstyle!!! Arigatou gozaimasu Chibi-Yuuto, you have made my day with this surprise!!! *faints again*

firstly an immature squee for the multi coloured eyes! I was really happy to see the brown there and even if it exists only because Domeki is ‘seeing through’ Watanuki it still looks good!
On Watanuki’s importance, the idea that he was meant to die sort of makes sensebut I’m thinking he was meant to go when he went through the window rather than as a child.
‘s idea that Watanuki is Eriol’s child struck a little spark with me, after all Kaho could see sprits couldn’t she?
Also much love for the picture! Chibi Domeki looks somehow less threatening than adult! Domeki.

BTW I think that its not a case of Watanuki living that makes him rare.
Back in the spider-lady arc his eye had the ability to magnify magic several times over right? That would mean that he is powerful. But aside from being over-sensitive to ayakashi he has never used magic. And cmon, Yuuko is there and she could teach him to defend with magic himself but she isn’t, rather she gave him a bodyguard(Doumeki). So I am led to believe that he does have magic but he doesn’t seem to be able to use it so I ask ‘why?’.

I love the Zashiki so much XDDDDD She’s adorable and she really cares about Watanuki! I mean she bothered to visit him. I like Himawari, but I think she likes and cares Watanuki as a friend but WxH? Nope, not my taste and plus besides she’s a fangirl XD

Sorry to tell you Chibi yuuto but in my XxxHolic scans of volume 10, the cover of watanuki..if you look at it closely his eyes are different, you can see one blue an the other brown, just if you wanted to know it, check it.

Realmente, os olhos ficaram esquisitos da Yuuko e Watanuki mas no geral, acho que não está tão ruim assim… No começo, estranhei muito o char design de XXXHolic mas, mesmo não gostando completamente, acabei me acostumando com as figuras longilíneas… Achei que do CiW estão mais proporcionais… Só assistindo mesmo.
Achei a Kobato tão fofa! Mas char design de anime é assim mesmo, sempre modificam algo u.u Dos trabalhos recentes que andei vendo, acho que CLAMP tem sorte nesse ponto…
Sabe qual é o problema, qdo a gente acompanha e gosta de um mangaká, a gente fica mais exigente…

I think SAW 3 was fine. I gotta see it again to make a better judgement XD Number 1 is still winning slightly from all 3. But they are all great because it’s like 3 parts of the same thing.
