In case some of you are wondering, yes, I am aware of the chinese or any other random japanese scans out there. But I chose to follow Alison’s scans ’till the very end, under any circumstances (whether they are late or early), in honor to her dedication over all these months, not to mention they are the only ones in which I have the permission to host at The Room, so I feel familiar with them already ^-^

So, obviously, Subaru is interested about Seishirou’s whereabouts, it’s about time for him to show up.
Now, when Subaru said “those people are waiting”, referring to Syaoran, Kurogane and Fye, it felt like he was saying “Guys, this is not our series, it’s THEIRS”, because the conversation was so NOT Tsubasa-related that someone, in this case, Subaru, needed to turn the focus back to it XDDDDDDDDDDD
I like this Syaoran so much, whoever he is ^____^
So Sakura got her action scene. It was cool, but that’s it XD I mean, she wasn’t any “look how cool I am with a gun” XDDD But I guess I’m expecting something that wouldn’t come from Sakura. Besides, she felt bad for killing the creature, which is well, just like Sakura XD
Does anyone else thought the hurt ankle was so similar to Yuzuriha’s hurt ankle? XD
But apart from that, let’s face it, there wasn’t much development in this chapter (that’s the bad thing about the action scenes). I’m still curious for what Sakura is searching for.
XXXHOLiC:
I loved the frames disposition on this chapter, specially the full-page with Himawari’s back.
This chapter was so utterly lovely. WatanukixHimawari is so lovely tragic (I mean, he dies if he stays with her? How tragic is that?! XD), but it only looks lovely because for the first time Himawari corresponded to his feelings. They were both being equally naturals there.
Just as I expected of Watanuki, he didn’t just “accept” the fact that she’s cursed and because of that they would have to part ways, no, which makes me very glad, since somebody needed to feel that way about her (the scene where she’s crying is so sad). He even asked Yuuko if he could pay a price in order to end all of her misfortune. Yuuko said the price is high, but c’mon, she helped to save your damn life ! XD And she doesn’t have to be 100% free of bad-luck, everybody has at least a little bit of bad-luck (maybe the only exception is Doumeki XD).
Doumeki’s price was his blood, which is now running through Watanuki’s veins, and Alison figured out something so extremely obvious and YET I HAVEN’T THOUGHT ABOUT IT ! Until I saw her thoughts XD She thinks that since it is the blood of Doumeki that repels the spirits, maybe now that Watanuki has a good amount of it, his wish will be granted !
Maybe he won’t stop to see -all- of them at once (probably Yuuko will tell him that in order to “work” properly, he needs to be around Doumeki XDDD), but maybe with some time, as the blood regenerate itself, he’ll be free for once and for all ^^
Yes, Alison, it seems waaaaay to easy if you think of it under these circumstances. However, go convince Watanuki back on the 1st chapter that all he needed to do was to get some blood of the guy he likes the least XDDDDDD “Things” needed to happen, firstly.
Now, I LOVED the scar thing ! *-* I well did think that Watanuki would get some nasty scars after the incident, and look what a twist, Himawari gets them. Ah, I love Himawari ^__^ I’m glad they will still see each other, Himawari and Watanuki, despite last week’s goodbye.
And ah, yeah, there’s Syaoran’s price too, but I guess this one will remain as a mystery for a while.
This week XXXHOLiC won over TRC big time, to me at least, and I’ll hope the last chapter of the tank will be as good as this one (because XXXHOLiC will not return until October 21st T__T).

Yo, Chibi-Yuuto! Genki desu ka? I know x-reggg has the Chinese scans from Tsubasa, demo ne, Chuugokugo wa wakarimasen. Sore ni, I like to wait for the Japanese scans from Lady-Darkmoon. I mean no disrespect for x-regg here.
Yeah, I do think so that Sakura injuring the ankle was very similar when Yuzuriha was injured on Shibuya by Satsuki on X. OMG, that scene with Subaru feeling sad when Fuuma was talking to Seishirou was so kawaii!! ^o^
Ah, honto kawaii on Mokona having another perch-on-the shoulder moment with the real Syaoran. I love the expression on the real Syaoran’s face when he patted a crying mokona. Love the action sequences from Sakura-hime. They were some scenes that she either show or acted using Li-akari’s “Kinomoto Factor” (I’m going to credit this person everytime I used this term). It was cool that she used the gun, but I didn’t like when she looked sad. I mean, come on Sakura!! It’s either kill or be killed!! X__x
About HOLiC, I only have to say one word: “Whoa” O__o. That was an incredible chapter. Those were incredible prices that all three of them had to pay. Dang, I wanted to know about Syaoran’s price!! 😦 However, it was pretty cool that Doumeki gave blood to Watanuki and Himawari sharing her scars with him. You better be grateful for Doumeki, Watanuki!! My gosh, Himawari is definitely becoming my favorite character from HOLiC.
Arigatou Chibi-Yuuto and Lady-Darkmoon for these wonderful chapters. As always I enjoyed them and I also enjoy doing commentaries. I look forward for the last chapter for HOLiC volume 10 and the next Tsubasa chapter as well.

Gomen ne, Chibi-Yuuto. This time, I was mistaken by saying that Yuzuriha got her ankle injured by Satsuki. Oh gosh, that is what you get for getting brain-fried by thinking too much about the mysteries of Tsubasa and HOLiC.
You are right about Fuuma is the one who injured Yuzuriha. Demo jitsu wa once again, it wasn’t on Volume 14 but Volume 15 instead. Don’t feel bad about it again, Chibi-Yuuto!! ^__^ Sore ni, nobody’s perfect.

XXXHOLIC OWNS PART OF MY HEART!!!
Ahh, this chapter was so incredible. And SO touching! poor Himawari-chan! ;-; I didn’t really like her at the beginning, but now I feel bad for her D: And of course, Watanuki didn’t want to get away from her, that boy is LOVE.
What really surprised me was that the third person was (Yin!)Shaoran =O A friend and I were making predictions about it, Himawari and Doumeki were obviously two of who had paid, but I really didn’t thought that Shaoran would be the third.. Mmm, I guess we’ll have to wait (and what?! T-T two week break? So unfair! at least it’s around my exams so I won’t get distracted XD)

I absolutely adored the Holic chapter. It was awesome. I’ll always be astonished how Clamp can make us, reader, empathize for their characters. I’ve never been a great fan of Himawari but I made up my mind since last chapter, and today’s finished the job. When Watanuki makes her understand he’ll still be her friend, the way she smiles at him was so beautiful. I always thought her smiles was the creepiest thing ever (who is always smiling like that ?) but their, it was the purest happiness. Same thing when she cries on Yuuko’s threshold (even if it’s quite sad to see tears). It made my evening ^^
So Watanuki discovers who paid for him, and I might say i’m as surprise as him for Shaolan. Doumeki and Himawari was totally expected, but Shaolan
Watanuki might be related with Clow, that’s the only link I can see. And it would explain why Yuuko wants him around. Even if she’s driving him mad, she’s very kind to him and tries to help him the better she can. I had that feeling long ago, but it’s becoming clearer.
I totally agree with ladydarkmoon about the effect of Doumeki’s blood on Watanuki’s powers. It can’t be related. The eye had an effect on Doumeki, so would the blood.
About the scars i did not see that coming, but I think that’s really great. I was kind of sad when Himawari said “Goodbye” last time. It was really heartbreaking to think she might just step away (even if it was a real opendoor for some Watanuki/Doumeki shipping), but the scars shows that everything is not done. I hate to see friendship reaching its end ;__; Luckily it’s not over.
It’s funny how a character can turn so lovable in just 2 chapters… I was not hating Himawari (poor thing, she was not openly doing anything bad), but it was the character I like the less…
Something strikes me when Yuuko was talking to Watanuki. She explains that curing Himawari of her bad luck would cost all her happiness. And I suddenly thought that Yuuko had really a terrible job. She knows Himawari for a while now, and from the beginning she knew the girl was cursed, and that trying anything to help her would make everything worse. And she is doing that for a very long time. She has no choice, the “hitsuzen” is a weight for her too… And when I was reading the translation of the TRC splach page, the “those who hold a power too strong” confort me in that feeling… No wonder why she is drinking so much sake…
I’m so looking forward the next chapter *__*
TRC chapter was not that good, but I liked it. We finally see Sakura doing something, and she is already using her gun. (even if she is not very happy to have killed the beast).

Shaolan patting Mokona’s head was the cuttest thing ever. I wanted to hug them both. After so much arms/eyes reapping, cuteness was what we needed.

I know what you mean. She was a character that was just “there”… her actions were suspicious, yeah, but her personality wasn’t charming at all. NOW, it everything is looking different XD

Do you really got it in that way? I thought she meant that the price of taking away her bad-luck would be AS heavy AS taking away all of her happiness. You know, Ying-Yang? To take away all of your Happiness or Unhappiness, one has to pay a big price.
That’s what I got, but I could be wrong o.o Besides, if Watanuki is the client, why would Himawari’s happiness be the price?

The trick of the equal worth thing
Himawari has really bad luck, what is the cost of removing that bad luck? What’s it worth? Removing that bad luck will make Himawari very, very, happy, so happiness is the equal worth, happiness is the equal price Himawari must pay if she wants her really bad luck to go away.

Actually I was getting worried on HxW (you know that i’m DW shipper ^_^) but after reading the translation, it seemed like Watanuki really cared Himawari as a friend. So is Doumeki how concerned to Himawari too (finally they interacted ^^) But yeah blood and eye? What else can we asked for this fanservicing? XDDD There’s got to be something between him and Doumeki. And Syaoran, Clamp likes to rambled our mind XD. Hoping to get that answer. Plus yeah, I was thinking of the same thought. After Doumeki transferring his blood to him, it will affect to his ability? I mean after they shared an eye, Watanuki improved his vision. Well let’s wait for that also ^^.

I think I prefer Himawari with the serious face calling Watanuki stupid, her being bluntly honest is refreshing. Also, she seems prettier that way, and less creepy. Her life has really got to suck, nobody has ever been glad to have known her. Makes me wonder how her parents treated her, they could never go anywhere with her or have anybody visit without fearing that somebody may die.
All I can say is that R!Syaoran gets a ton of points in helping save Watanuki. He’s already way above C!Syaoran in my eyes for that. Wonder if Watanuki will try and thank him through Mokona. ^_^

Actually reading the translations it looks like Shaoran’s price for this was the same as his price for dimentional travel…Yuuko says that he ‘gave up a great deal of his time’ or something along those lines!

Ah. I’m glad you’re sticking with . I couldn’t believe everyone on all the comms running and grabbing those poor-quality scans just because they came out twelve hours earlier than usual. I guess it’s down to 92% of the TRC fandom being twelve. It’s a little embarrassing. I make vectors from the weekly raws, and the only scans which are large enough, high-quality, and useful for the purpose are the ones I get at The Room. So, I’m really very happy to hear that they’ll still be available. Thanks to everyone involved.
Er, when I saw the roughs of xxxHOLiC 119, I thought that it was the same situation that we’d seen in TRC the month before = blood magic being used in an almost matrimonial sense, to bind characters who would otherwise have no way of being bound together physically (i.e. no children). Maybe it’s just me. Doumeki/Watanuki is my favorite classic CLAMP OTP, and Kurogane/Fay is growing on me, too.
And I actually like Himawari now, wow! Who ever would’ve thought that would happen?

I actually skimmed rather quickly over Tsubasa this week just to get to xxxHOLiC faster.
My biggest surprise of the chapter was not only Watanuki’s confession to Himawari (maybe now Watanuki is freed up for Doumeki!), but also the prices that they paid (that was really selfless of Himawari, I think) and Doumeki’s presence in the shop. I assumed that if you needed the shop, it would always be around, but I guess that being able to enter the shop (and its presence to you) depends on the circumstance at hand.
Watanuki’s wish can’t be granted so simply. There’s got to be more to it, like how Yuuko mentioned in that one chapter that the black Mokona’s earring seals magic or something like that.

hahahah really? Yeah, XXXHOLiC was particularly good this week, which is good because TRC is always the big highlight most of the weeks.

I thought the exact same way ! Which is why now I wonder if at the end of the series Watanuki will not be able to see the shop anymore. It would be sad, but very cool.

Well reminded ! The earrings of Soel and Larg has got to play a part in all this too o.o

I agree! This Holic chapter was so much better than Tsubasa’s one. Although I’m happy that Sakura is finally doing something, this chapter was very… simple. (I also love the scene where Subaru, Kamui and Fuuma are talking xD)

Im thinking it long ago.. in CCS, syaoran was going back to hongkong …
Before that he sayed to sakura “there are things that i have to do” …
And later he came back from hongkong in middle school age..
can it be that the R-syaoran from TRC is syaoran from CCS…

I first read this chap. from the Chinese scanlation but is nonetheless grateful for the dedication you and Alison put up to give us our weekly updates!
I have to agree that this week’s chap. is rather slow but the Sei/Sub indication makes any fangirls happy. Just like how F/K and S/K indication in the earlier chaps. did. ^^
I wonder, if Subaru doesn’t seem to be afraid of Seishirou and thus, no reason to keep on running away from him, then why is Kamui so desperate? Is he trying to be the clingy brat who wouldn’t give Subaru away to any other man? That’s so the opposite of what Hokuto had been doing in TB. ^^;;
And Fuuma’s comments about Seishirou being old and slow makes me laugh. XD For some reason, that doesn’t sit right with Sei-chan since my only description of him are ‘hot’ and ‘sexy’. XP But then again, Seishirou doesn’t seem to age one bit since the last time we saw him in Outo. How can he be old? Does the vampire blood that Subaru supposedly gave him had anything to do with this? Then, the whole description of him being ‘old’ and ‘slow’ aren’t right. Is Fuuma trying to be cynical?
Sakura’s actions are pretty boring when you are to compare with the actions from others. Even the CCS her is able to do more than fall, twist her ankle, shoot a bullet and bang! All is over. But I guess I shuoldn’t expect a lot from her. She IS a princess, after all. She involving in this alone is big enough development for her character in TRC.
Now, when Subaru said “those people are waiting”, referring to Syaoran, Kurogane and Fye, it felt like he was saying “Guys, this is not our series, it’s THEIRS”, because the conversation was so NOT Tsubasa-related that someone, in this case, Subaru, needed to turn the focus back to it XDDDDDDDDDDD

It’s amazing the developing on holic! Withs the price payed by Himawari and with a look on her situation, she raised her points. This weekend I bought the 3 first volumes of Holic and it’s funny how you see Watanuki’s affection for Himawari and Yuuko’s advices by a different light.
Also, I have a doubt: In vol. 1 (in the case of the woman addicted to internet) Yuuko speaks about happiness and makes a reference of Subaru and speaks of him as “a boy with a twin sister” (in Vid’s translation). It could be them as in a TB “world”, or maybe in the japanese original they meant only a “twin” without a gender specification? I know there’s a lot to see about Subaru and Sei’s encounter on TRC, but being Kamui his twin… confuses me.
There are a lot of leaks on TRC’s recent chapter, let’s wait for The Room scans.

People aren’t giving Sakura much credit. Her foot was bleeding rather a lot, and she just stands up and keeps going.
And that Syaoran. Every chapter I change my mind about whether he really is CCS Syaoran or not. (Either way, he’s uber-cute).

I don’t think Watanuki is sharing Doumeki’s blood (¬_¬)
Err… I don’t want to end the party or anything, but the way I understand this xxxHolic chapter, Doumeki didn’t give his blood to Watanuki.
What I understood is that Watanuki fall from the building, Syaoran did the waiting for the recovery, Himawari-chan took the scar on her skin and Doumeki lose the blood Watanuki should have lose (that’s why his covered with it).
Read carefully what Yuuko said about Doumeki’s price on the scans and tell me if I’m wrong.
If I’m right, I guess Holic can continue a little longer (^_~)

I checked it with Tomoe since we weren’t sure if Watanuki had received Doumeki’s blood or exchange his blood with Doumeki’s. After looking at the japanese dialogues it was clear that Doumeki lose his blood instead of Watanuki.
