I didn’t expect CLAMP to be so quick with this feather o.o But I have absolutely nothing to complain, of course xD Syaoran is so freaking scary in this chapter, my gosh o.o” He’s mercy-less ! I wouldn’t say he’s like Ashura because he has that crazy evil-ness in himself, more like Fuuma who’s so cold. Syaoran is so cold Kurogane didn’t recognize him. That look on page 09, scaaary…

Assuming that everybody is aware that who’s inside Syaoran is the other Syaoran, one interesting thing is that he got the feather when he was still being controlled by the other Syaoran o.o” So, does this mean that Fei Wan DOES want the kids to gather the feathers back? Hummm…

So Mokona can’t use it’s magic? humm… I won’t say that I was expecting that to happen, but I understand why it’s happening… I mean, I don’t know the true meaning of it (I’m so curious, though xD) but what with the whole Kurogane past plus the big trip to the library, we didn’t get to see more about Rekoruto at all ! It has to be one of the coolest world they’ve ever been and yet we saw so little about it, I’m sure it must have many cool things to see on it. So maybe, I could be totally wrong though xD, maybe that’s CLAMP’s disguised excuse so that they don’t go flying to the next world already.

Anyway, the fact that the 8th feather has been caught just makes the 7 + 7 + 7 theory even more true. Vol 14 (this one that is currently being published on Shonen Magazine) is ending, we have no more than 70 pages to see, this is also where the 2nd anime season should end. So what’s better than a season finale with the feather in their hands and a possible cliffhanger still to come?

XXXHOLiC:

XXXHOLiC reached the mark of 4.500 millions copies sold !! That’s 500.000 more than the previous information announced a couple of months ago, yey for XXXHOLiC ^^

It’s the girls featuring the color splash pages *-* Really nice to see Zashiki Warashi and Ame Warashi’s first color pic ! \o/ Now we know she’s all blue *-* I wish she could appear more… she and Neko Musume *-*

The fact that Yuuko doesn’t show up in this chapter is just too bad T-T And I just wished that CLAMP didn’t waste the precious color pages with illustrations of Mokona and an Eggplant xDDD But it’s an interesting chapter still…

I couldn’t get what’s going on because it’s such a heavy-dialog chapter, but it was interesting still because omg ! Are we back on vol 1? XD Watanuki saw that ghostly thing again ! After so much time ! I think it’s more than clear that it has to do with Himawari… specially because she gave Watanuki those cookies and CLAMP drew smoke around them… and we know that in XXXHOLiC when there’s that kind of smoke around it means just one thing: trouble xD

Now, I was thinking… Yuuko once said that Himawari wasn’t good for Watanuki, that she’s bad luck and everything. Could this ghost be related to what boys feel when they are around girls they like? Specially the Watanuki-like boys. Maybe those ghosts are nothing but Watanuki’s own creation. Or maybe I’m just crazy ^^”

Anyway, what I’m really curious is to know what Yuuko will say about all this, that’s for sure.

Today is also a very special day because it’s Igarashi Satsuki’s birthday ! Omedetou Gozaimasu !! ^___^ She completes today 37 years.

    I liked the eggplant. It’s funny how the color pages are always filled with crack.

    Let’s hope you’re right! I want to see more cool doom for them apart from the soldat lions.

      • That’s okay, Yuuto-kun. I also thought first it was from her to him XD That would’ve made the crying-over-the-cookies-Doumeki-is-eating funnier, heh.

        I want Kero and Spinel to be soldats! That’s the only way soldats can be cool again.

        • you’re right ! Doumeki was eating them ! So Himawari gave them to him? o.o Poor Watanuki xDDD

          I’m so predicting the next chapter: They can’t beat that lion up… I don’t think CLAMP would waste more pages on fights when Syaoran is so injured. So Eriol will come and controll the beast xDDD And you can be happy !

    • This is question is asked quite often indeed XD But I don’t mind answering it, don’t worry ^_~ It’s simple, follow my though:

      The anime will be 3 seasons-long. Season 1 finished by the end of vol 7. Soooo… 7 (1st season) + 7 (2nd season) + 7 (3rd season).

  4. I missed XXXholic so much! I was impressed at the Amewarashi’s hair, I believed it she was a blonde.
    Maybe the eggplant has some sot of symbolism, it was on the Mokona calendar too. I also noticed that the eye-smoke-thingy also appears on the chapter with the ghost boy (the one that gives Watanuki the bone), not only when Himawari is around. Tsubasa was cool too, I love Shaoran’s creepy face!

      I don’t think Himawari must be -around- for Watanuki to see the ghost… he just need to -know- her, and we don’t know since when they know each other.

      • Me again…
        I kept thinking about what you said about “Maybe those ghosts are nothing but Watanuki’s own creation”. In the chapter with the woman that had lost her child I tought she was his creation. Because at the end Yuuko asked him if he wanted to know what she was and he said he didn’t, so Yuuko never explained what she was and why he was dying when he saw her. Maybe he was dying because of the strenght he was using to keep her “alive”. I don’t know, it’s something that occured to me back then and as you said something similar…well I just wanted to share it.

  6. It’s a new years dream, with that eggplant. It was in Azumanga Daioh. If your first dream of the year has an eggplant, Mount Fuji and an eagle (or something) it’s supposed to be lucky. So, Watanuki dreamed of Mokona riding an eggplant and Himawari-chan said he was lucky. I’m guessing her dream wasn’t as good :).

    • I could never think of a colored mokona pic as a waste.

      If the dream of an eggplant, an eagle, and Mt Fuji for the new year is lucky, then, I’m betting the crane on mokona’s obe is the eagle(or something), and does anyone know what the symbol on the fan might be(maybe Fiji)? The dream in the begining is VERY much the same as the incident at the end with the ghost so thats instresting. Either Mokona is mocking Watanuki’s soon-to-be situation(which is likely) or the eggplant-riding mokona showing up in the same way as watanuki’s scary little friend is telling us that the scary little friend is not so bad. Watanuki might just be scared because hes Watanuki

      Anyway the white mokona’s flying the the background are sooo cute!!!

      Also has anyone seen the storybook/artbook called Soel and Larg its all about the mokona-madoki and their beginings before they ended up in the jars. My friend and I think yuuko and clow have a big part in it and we need better translations then ourselves.

        Well I do xDDDDDDDDD With all the colored pic we have already for Mokona=Modoki things. We get to see those color pages in invervals of months and I would prefer FOR SURE that they drew instead Watanuki and/or the others ^^ Nothing against Black Mokona, which I love, it’s jokes are the bests XD

        You’re very right ! CLAMP always do that with XXXHOliC, huh? On the volume where he loses his right eye, the color pages are also about “not viewing anything from the right eye”

        About Soel and Larg, nobody scanned it and nobody has translated it completely… there are a couple of them on iamsocool12345’s LJ (see comment bellow), you could give it a search ^_^

  8. Ah, so it’s the New Years now! While the seasons of the xxxHOLiC manga might be odd, I think it’s easy enough to date the time by various holidays and seasons that are mentioned… I don’t believe Watanuki has worked for Yuuko over a year?

    Book 1-3 I don’t know what time of year ‘_’ It looked pretty mild though. I don’t have book 2… but time seems to have settled down by book 4.

    Book 4 – Febuary, since there was a Valentine’s thing… then white day (March) next story arch, then Watanuki’s birthday at the very end (April 1).

    Book 5 – Yuuko says she was waiting for White Day gifts from the others for the past 2 months, so probably around mid June (translators notes say it’s June too). Then next story, Yuuko passes out from the heat as Maru and Moro draw those crime-outlines around her body (lol), so summer. The Night Fair they go to is also a summer thing.

    Book 6 – The chapter with the ghost lady is in the fall.

    Book 7 – XD I dunno, waiting for next release.

    Then in book 8, chapter 96, it must have just snowed by Watanuki’s “The snow has piled up!” comment.

    Now is New Year’s!

    So we’re probably rounding out a year.

    AND NEED MOE xxxHOLiC *shakes CLAMP like a bully shaking lunch money out of a kid* Especially after that ghost chasing Watanuki. :U Actually, it’s a different ghost than from the first chapter – the first chapter had a bunch of eyes, versus on giant one. You know… this one reminds me of the one-eyed youma-spider things that Seishirou ordered around in TRC. >__>

    • He’s working way more than a year…
      XXXHOLiC’s running time is the exact same we are passing through.
      The Valentine thing was first published in 2004 indeed during the beginning of February, the same for all the summer stuff, all happening at the same time of Japan’s.

      We’ll maybe get some more Valentine things now that is coming.

      That said, he is certainly working for Yuuko over a year, I’d say 3 years…

      On the Valentine thing he was already working for quite some time (3 whole volumes) and that was in Feb 2004, a year after the first chapter.

      It’s 2 years at the very least because we already got to see 2 summers.

  9. Oohh… will Fai use his magic to get the trio out or will they find some deus ex machina method? Or will they just have to do a lot of explaining?

    That is one big eyeball! If I had been more sleepy or more awake, I may have fallen out of my chair in shock-surprise.

  10. i only kinda get what himawari-chan said at first when talking about the new year’s dream *__*

    it was something about footsteps and all, so i think that what’s happening to watanuki is actually a mix of their dreams? coz himawari said something like “my dreams was like yours at first, but…” (not a translation) then preceeded to talk about footsteps XDDD
