I was hoping we could get the broadcast day but I think is way too soon for that information.
So, about the pic, don’t they look kinda yellow/green-ish like they are sick? I guess it’s only in that particular image. Yuuko is very fine, her body is good (including the breasts xD), hair, and her clothes are very amazing, but her eyes look a bit weird. Watanuki’s too, who looks skinnier than ever o.o Don’t they look a bit dizzy, too?
That’s just a pic, though. We can’t fully judge by it, although I would prefer the ones that were on the anime magazines from this month.
More info on the event. It’ll happen on April 2nd where they’ll be showing an exclusive advanced screening of the 1st episode. XXXHOLiC won’t be the only series sharing the event, the event of Ah! Megami Sama anime will also be held at the same time of XXXHOLiC’s.
The guests confirmed to attend the event are the seiyuus for Yuuko, Watanuki and Doumeki. CLAMP won’t be there.
A new info has been added to the Staff ! Now we know that the soundtrack will be in charge of the group S.E.N.S. It’s composed by a guy and a woman and they seem really intellectual. Check out their official site for more info and you can listen to some samples of their work. They are on the road for quite some time and had won a lot of awards through those years. I listened to a couple of songs that they did for an anime series and I think they can do a very good job in XXXHOLiC ^__^

… I can’t wait to see Yuuko’s clothing in color!
The proportions of her face is just sliiiightly off in that picture… Perhaps the head is too small. Or the eyes/irises are too small. But Watanuki, I like how he looks a lot ♥ !
I can’t wait! If a bit apprehensive, I’m so excited for the anime! I want to hear the music, and watch the intro, and see then ending theme *___*

Yeah I also think the problem is mainly the heads… but it’s okay, it’s just a photo and the animation always get better with time ^^

i love it! but how are they be able to animate such detailed characters ?! i read so many interviews of animators who worked with CLAMP before, telling their characters have always been the hardest to animate because of the huge level of details, but here it is masochism lol
i admit i am a bit deceived for the music, i really hoped they would have asked Tsuneyoshi Saito to compose it, but we will see ! according to what I have listened of S.E.N.S, they really can compose a breathtaking score ^__^

Maybe in the anime there won’t be too much detail in Yuuko’s clothes, which would be very bad…. maybe they did it like that just because it’s a promotional image, I hope not, though.

I love Yuuko’s dress but Watanuki looks younger than he is normaly, but maybe because he looked like that in the begining of the manga, and yes they do look a little green…

Oh, great! Regarding the animation issue, it will surely be a torture to animate Yuuko’s dresses and different effects or scenarios. But I have plenty of confidence in Prod IG 😛 In Ghost in the Shell they showed they could really draw some complex scenes, and the same in Jin Roh and so on (and XXXholic movie, of course xD).
And about the music… I didn’t know S.E.N.S. either before, but listening to some samples of their work (from different years, in order to compare), I can sat they can do a GREAT job of musical ambientation in XXXholic. And they sure do have a LOT of experience composing!
Can’t wait to see this adaptation :)~

3rd, I think you are right, if they picked P IG for xxxholic it must be because they are capable, I hope they can animate greatly even Yuuko’s detailed dresses.
I myself also put faith on SENS, I’ve listened to a couple of songs and they have that exotic feeling of xxxholic *-* I think they’ll do great.

Eeeeee! I can’t wait for the series! I have a confession to make, xxxholic manga sometimes freaks me out, eg. the monkey paw… TT;;;; *I hate volume 3 because of that chapter*
However I’m excited to see Yuuko, Watanuki and Doumeki!

It’s freaky and horrifying! *shivers* Maybe because back then when I first read the chapter, I was not used to dark aspects of xxxHolic. *I’ve read 6 volumes in one night*. The lady in the monkey paw arc was so addicted to the monkey paw, i found that really scary. Especially the part (highlight to spoiler)[ where it choked her to death.]

I like the manga, it just that one chapter …
Oh another was the Hand that grabs children!
That was scary.
The best chapters I liked were the valentines, white day, pipe fox, fox oden or noodles stand- can’t remember it… 🙂

I love the coloring on Yuuko’s gown — it’s the outfit from the ouija board (“angel-san”) story arc and it was always one of my favorites. What I find REALLY amusing is that Himawari’s name doesn’t appear on the cast listing.

I can’t wait for people to start cosplaying Yuuko. I think the fact we can see all her outfits in color makes up for a part of whatever possible failures the anime might make.

Yes in my opinion the characters look like sick but I mainly dont like that they seem like “fragile” or too young…I dont know, but I got that sensation. Well at least it will be better than TC for sure, which I learned to hate…u.u

My opinion about the image… Yuuko looks great (I don’t hate TC, althought Yuuko’s Bee-Train design really sucks) , thought she seems have smoked something XDDD and Watanuki is cool, but I’m with you about the “dizzy” ^^U.
