CLAMP NEWS!!

Kobato will take another vacation on July edition of Sunday GX (out on June 18th). It’s publishing is running too slow, IMO.

Tsubasa, on the other hand, is going pretty good! We’ll have chapters scheduled for the rest of this month. No big chapters scheduled, yet (we kind of had too many, these days XD).

The covers for vol. 10 has been announced !

In the normal edition we have a beautiful pic with Syaoran and Sakura wearing some kind of Indian clothes with some Brazilian touch (the colors and their position really resembles Brazil’s flag XD).
And in the deluxe version we have Seishirou-san *hears the screams at the background Here he is, all yours ^^ Cast your guesses on the next cover! I’ll stick with Clow !

As for XXXHOLiC, next week we have the beginning of book 7 and chapters scheduled for the rest of this month as well ^__^

The cover for vol. 6 has also been announced, and here it is:

Yuuko is also in the indian mood ! It’s a very pretty cover (as always). And this time we get to see the cover featuring her face, only, nice and big ^__^

atzur-san was really kind to send me the High Quality Quick Time version of XXXHOLiC trailer (I refuse to say that it’s the tsubasa trailer as well XD), and what’s better, it’s NOT streaming, it’s the whole file in very good quality ^__^ Thank you, Atzur-san!

    @_@ Oh my GOD. My collection of Tsubasa shall start with volume 10 then. (I know. I’m such a horrible person, I haven’t even brough a single volume of Tsubasa yer. ;-; But there are so many other pretty mangas out there. Plus CLAMP no Kiseki. *cough*)

  5. Oh, that Sei illustration is going to be *good*. However, I was rooting for a Clow cover after Yuuko’s *sighs* Oh well, CLAMP did separated my other OTP by two volumes, so maybe the 11th will be the charmed XDDD

    I’m not surprised by the Hindi thing in XXXHOLiC: there are some splashes with Hindi-like B&W illustrations. Besides, she looks so pretty *-* Peacock feathers!

    If you wanted the trailer, why couldn’t you download it from K.net? Is there a problem? Should I reupload it? O_____O [panics]

    Well now all those X fans who refused to buy TRC will fall in CLAMP’s clutches once again. And willingly. Seishirou is the best bait, after all.

  11. If you ask me, you can’t get a Brazilian colors without green. XD Doesn’t xxxHolic look more Brazilian flag-ish (I’m looking at the peacock feather beneath her chin– all it’s missing is the stars & Ordem e Progresso XXXD).

    The regular TRC cover looks pretty, too!

      Tsubasa’s one is on their sleeves, not to mention, the tropical trees on the background !

  22. I gave a closer look to the updates and here it comes again, 同時上映 (simultaneous screening). Nothing like that for the simultaneous release of Tsubasa 10 and Holic 6.

    So I gave a look at my DVD of the second movie of Card Captor Sakura, the mention 同時収録 (simultaneously recorded) was printed beside the title of Kero-chan’s short movie. I did a research on google, 同時上映 was mention beside the Clover’s short movie, Kero & Souppi’s short movie and the Pikachu’s one.

    Well, I really hope I’m wrong, but I won’t rest easy until August.

          It was never specified by the Clamp themselves, or by anyone else, but that’s my guess.

          1) Sakura’s wings have 7 sections each which would mean 14 sections in all. So I believe 1 section = 1 feather. The logos of both the manga and the anime have a 6 sections wing, but the early layout displayed on the Clamp website had a 7 section wing. Tomoyo’s feather is the eighth Syaoran-tachi encounter.

          2)We had a guide book to cover 7 manga books, so a multiple of 7 seems to be likely (either 14 or 21).

          3) We still haven’t see Kurogane or Fay’s world (a feater each), we have yet to encounter Hokuto or Subaru (a feater each), Seishiro is the only Chi no Ryuu we met, we have yet to see Eriol, Kujaku, Itchan, Kamui, Fuuma, Hikaru / Umi / Fuu, Zagato-tachi, Clef, the people from Wish, Suu, Ran, Kazuhiko, Gingetsu, Kanoe or Hinoto (we need at least a half-dozaine world to put them all in). I mean, the strongest characters didn’t show up yet, they can all be in one or two world.

          4) Syaoran-tachi catch two feathers every three books (or nearly miss Seishirou’s one).
          Book 1 -> the feater in Syaoran’s clothes;
          Book 2 -> the feather of Masayoshi’s kudan;
          Book 3 -> no feather caught;
          Book 4 -> the Ryanban’s feather;
          Book 5 -> Emeraude-hime’s feather;
          Book 6 -> no feather caught;
          Book 7 -> Seishirou’s get away with the 5th feather;
          Book 8 -> The rabbits fethers;
          Book 9 -> no feather caught;
          Book 10-> Ashura-Oh’s feather;
          Book 11-> Tomoyo’s feather (I can’t believe they’ll stay there for more than 11 chapitres)

          So will get the 14th feather on book 20 (I believe they’ll get Seishirou’s feather easily once he’ll have Subaru and Hokuto).

          5) We still have to see Ashura-Oh, Souma, Clow, Feiwang, Shinghuo, Syaoran of the bat country, Fujitaka and the mysterious guy on the covers (at least 8) there could be Mokona, Hokuto, Subaru as well (11). I don’t believe we’ll see Watanuki, unless he got some major role to come. So 11 + 10 = 21.

          6) While Clamp tend to do short stories with only a couple of volumes each, they make some longer stories (Rg Veda, Card Captor Sakura, X). However, it’s not a matter of how many books the stories take but more how long the publication last.

          Shira-hime shou -> less than a year;
          Watashi no suki na hito -> 1½ year;
          Shin Shunka-den -> 1½ year;
          Suki. Dakara Suki. -> 2 years;
          20 Mensou -> 2 years;
          Clamp Gakuen Tanteidan -> 2 years;
          Chobits -> 2 years;
          Angelic Layer -> 2 years;
          Duklyon -> 2½ years;
          Magic Knight Rayearth -> 2½ years;
          Miyuki-chan -> 2½ years;
          Wish -> 3 years;
          Tokyo Babylon -> 3½ years;
          Card Captor Sakura -> 4 years;
          Rg Veada -> 6½ years;
          Clover -> 8 years (but only 2½ of work);
          X -> 13 years (but only 11 at work)

          So, besides special cases like X or Rg Veda (both have begun pretty early on and Ohkawa said in a interview that X would take 8 books had she decide to do it nowaday) or Clover (they still want to do it, but since there’s no proper place to serialise it now in Kodansha’s magazine [why do they have to serialise is beyond my understanding, but they work in the manga industry and not me {though even Sei Leeza was able to continue Combination when Kobunsha close their manga magazines}]), anyway the long lasting serialisation are from the begining of the professional carrer of the Clamp and Clover is a special case. Therefore, I can see Tsubasa taking 4 years of work like Sakura (tsubasa would end around spring 2007), the Clamp seem to like this manga a lot, something like Sakura or X.

          I hope the lines won’t mess up, I’m not familiar with this posting site. And I hope I didn’t make spelling mistakes because the mailman just came with my Clamp no Kiseki #8 and I just can’t spend any more time to re-read my post. ^_~

              Since you asked for it, the mysterious Feiwang minion is Kyle:

              1) we know Syaoran-tachi have already met him

              2) we know Syaoran-tachi don’t thought highly of him when the met him

              3) we know he’s slim and don’t have untidy hair (like most of the Clamp characters)

              So, among the people Syaoran-tachi did like since they start travelling, we have:

              – the Fat mohikan guy (much too fat)
              – Primera (too much hair)
              – the Ryanban (too fat)
              – the Ryanban’s son (much too fat)
              – Debonnair (too much hair)
              – Kyle (could be him)
              – the angry guy (we would have seen his terrible bang)
              – the fat guy that spy for Feiwang (too fat)
              – the mayor (untidy hair)
              – Glossam (wavy hair)
              – Takeshi (well, could be)
              – Kentarou (untidy hair)
              – Seishirou (untidy hair)
              – (I can’t think of anyone in the country of Shura or Shara)

              So, there Kyle and Takeshi. Even though Takeshi attack Syaoran-tachi, I can’t see them minding too much, it was his job after all. On the other hand, Kyle was actively working to get a feather, he disapear without a trace after the colapsing of the castle (I don’t trust any evil guy to be death until I see the body). Plus, that guy seems devious.

              So my bet is on Kyle.

                  Kyle Rondart was the seemingly nice doctor in Jade who turned out to be an agent of Fei Wong Reed(ultimate evil guy *gasp*) after Sakura’s feather.

                  He also goes by Hyde Londellus in some translations.
