We have a new title page after a sequence of chapters without one, indicating a change of narrative. It’s a beautiful illustration of Seoritsu-hime at a library, looking as sleek as always. The text from the title page makes a reference to the person who created the “book” that is Seoritsu-hime, a person with “incredible magical power”. Every now and then during Clear Card we would theorize on who created the book and its guardian, who was called Momo at that time. I wasn’t sure we would ever find out but I guess we might find that out after all…
Seoritsu-hime and Mokona are in the backyard. Seoritsu-hime is juggling Mokona=Modoki dolls. Mokona thanks Seoritsu-hime for letting them know that Watanuki had fainted — otherwise it could have been too late. Seoritsu-hime is caught off-guard when Mokona tells her that she must have a lot of concerns and things she cannot say. This is a rare opportunity where Seoritsu-hime seems very surprise that another being could see through her… She then replies that Mokona was “sharp” to notice that, and that creatures become more and more similar to their creators (she’s saying that Mokona is becoming as “sharp” as Clow and Yuuko were).
Mokona then asks if Seoritsu-hime is also similar to her creator, to which she confirms that she was also created by someone else, although she says she is not quite like her creator… and when Mokona asks her if Mokona knows Seoritsu-hime, she just smiles!!! Hmmmmmmmmm…. I would say OF COURSE MOKONA MUST KNOW!!!
I think CLAMP are telling us here that her creator is not Yuuko, which is a bit of a logical choice considering their personalities are very similar and Yuuko was extremely powerful. If it isn’t Yuuko, that leaves us with few other options since there are not that many people with this much magical power in the CLAMP universe. I know the book was created over 100 years ago, but with multiple dimensions and time travel, it does not necessarily mean that the person is already dead.
Characters with an incredible magical power:
Clow Reed (but we learn in Clear Card that he did not create the “Book”)
Yuuko Ichihara
The “D” wizards: Fye, Kaito (but we know it wasn’t Kaito)
Fei Wang Reed
Members of Magic Association? (just how powerful are they?)
Members of Akiho’s family? Lilie (Akiho’s mother)? I know she met Momo so that implies that the book had already been created long before, but Lilie is known for having immense magical powers and she died in a mysterious way…
Sakura Kinomoto…?
Watanuki…….?
For Sakura, Lilie and Watanuki, it would have to be in some twisted time travel scenario because in a linear timeline, the book was created way before they were born (unless Lilie’s magic powers made her live for over 100 years).
Anyways…. it seems like we might be able to find out who created the “book” and the clues we have are: someone extremely powerful and whose personality is different than Seoritsu-hime’s.
Our favorite informer Neko Musume is back! It’s been a while ♡ I love how Watanuki used a “cat toy” to lure her to the shop xD She tells Watanuki, rather reluctantly, that she doesn’t have any news about Zashiki Warashi and no matter where she went or who she talked to, they all said that “nothing can be done”, that the Fuuri and the Yatagarasu tricked Watanuki and that everyone is looking down on Watanuki as the shop’s owner. I like how Watanuki is well aware that he is still not as powerful as Yuuko (will he ever be?) and that almost the entire yokai community has not accepted him as Yuuko’s substitute. He’s going to have to win their trust.
It’s quite unusual seeing Neko Musume like that… she is usually very cheerful but instead she is very moody here (just like a cat), as though she did not want to see Watanuki.
We learn that Watanuki summoned Neko Musume over to ask her for a favor: he wants her to tell the Fuuri that he is going to give it what it wants (the Shuuka, in return of the Zashiki Warashi-lookalike).
The chapter concludes with Ame Warashi in a rain-soaked green landscape, surrounded by nature. She looks worried as she thinks about Zashiki Warashi.
Watanuki seems determined and to know what he is doing (since the last chapter). I don’t think he will actually do the switch. We still don’t know what he wished for to Masaki and the price he paid for it, but it’s definitely related to his next move. If he is successful, maybe the aftermath of this will have the yokai community accepting a little more as Yuuko’s substitute.
Next chapter will be the last one for volume 6, so maybe we are in for some big reveal or turning point…
A bulky 16 pages for this eleventh chapter of volume 6. 158 pages so far for volume 6!
Chapter 76 will come out on April 27th.

It’s always so cool to see Neko Musume! <3
And how beautiful is the double page with Ame Warashi in that rainy place. It looks like a natural landscape, but it also has something sacred about it. Those stones in the middle of the forest/mountain.
I also love seeing Neko Musume~ I love that she has a bell on her neck xD
Yeah, the place where Ame Warashi is at is beautiful! It must not be within “Japan”.
