Beautiful color page with Akiho and lily flowers — a clear reference to her mother, of course. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a solo color page with Akiho, hasn’t it?

With the recent news that Clear Card will actually end on volume 16, this chapter could well be the first chapter of said volume, but I am not 100% positive of that. Volume 15 could be just about the same size and a typical Clear Card volume or a bit bigger.

Sakura and Syaoran both get dropped off of the “Zoom call” with Eriol and the rest after they go inside the fake moon. We learn from Eriol that the time inside the fake moon is not stopped, but “falling apart” (or crumbling down, it depends on the translation I guess). That’s a new concept in CLAMPverse. We’ve seen times that have stopped, but “falling apart” is a first.

Sakura points out that the pocket watch helping them find the way is like Akiho is taking them there. Because it was thanks to the watch that they know the way. This is one of Ohkawa-sensei’s ways of recognizing Akiho’s role and importance in all of this.

Sakura recognizes the dragon-like creature from her dreams, particularly from a memory of her dreams shown using the RECORD card. I like that Syaoran asks himself if the creature is really a dragon. It never looked like the typical dragon after all.

With Syaoran’s help (as someone whose power is drawn from the Moon), they realize that the power that is coming from the fake moon and from the bigger “watch” thing that is keeping the dragon-like creature prisoner are one and the same, and that the power that is coming from the pocket watch and the dragon-like creature is another. Therefore Kaito did not imprison himself there. Something else did.

Sakura makes the connection that the dragon-like creature is someone close to Akiho, even though Kaito has been completely erased from this reality (the body remembers). I’m not sure what happens next but I think she tries to approach the dragon-like creature and the barrier around him acts all crazy and expels her.

Sakura realizes that she needs to break the barrier with some type of magic, so she uses TIME for the first time. The card we all thought was the one that Kaito wanted, was actually meant for this particular purpose. Not sure I understood Momo’s message saying that it’s the one card that did not disappear. We’ve seen other cards that did not disappear such as FLIGHT and RECORD. Does she mean that none of the cards disappeared and as long as she calls them they will appear?

So, TIME. She uses TIME to rewind the time of the barrier and this reminded me so much of Zelda and the “recall” ability xD The dragon-like creature is free, they see a way out of the fake moon, they manage to exit the fake moon but the dragon-like creature didn’t go with them, it stayed…

Next thing we see, the fake moon disappears in thin air… do we see some book pages? Is it the Magic Association who came for a reckoning with Sakura because she’s messing with their plans? The moon power that was coming from the fake moon and the barrier acting as cage was probably from them…

31 pages for this chapter. Either 177 pages for volume 15 or 31 pages for volume 16 (more likely, if you ask me).

Chapter 77 will come out on August 30th and Sakura will feature the front cover of Nakayoshi. We don’t have any breaks since Chapter 67. It’s been 10 months straight with no breaks between chapters! Let’s hope it stays this way until the end.
