UPDATED: Card Captor Sakura Clear Card Premium Goods Box

Kodansha is releasing a Card Captor Sakura Clear Card Premium Goods Box on September 3 (on the same day as volume 7 of Clear Card will be released).

Contents are:

  • “Connected” Acrylic Charms
    Featuring original artwork by CLAMP, featuring Sakura, Syaoran and Kero;

Reprint of the notepad that came as an appendix with the June 1998 issue of Nakayoshi;

  • Set of 2 illustration cards printed in clear material;
  • Set of 3 “fashionable” can badges with polaroid design.

The last two itens will probably re-use released artworks.

It will be released for a price of 2,759 yens and you can already pre-order it via Amazon Japan.

  1. That was a pretty sudden thing to be added for sale on the same day as volume 7 uh? ^^;
    On the other side, they are telling us about it 2 months in advance…

    The artworks for the acrylic charms will definitely be new (very likely chibis), but as you said, the illustrations for the clear cards won’t be (though no complain here, I always appreciate textless artworks ;), but I’m not sure about these ‘polaroid can badges’: I’ve never heard of merchandise like that, we’ll have to wait and see the dimensions first, and then, maybe?!, if it will be new illustrations too, but I’m not holding my breath ^^;;

    I hope we will get a preview of the box’s content in this month’s Nakayoshi, in 2 days! Finger crossed!

    • They announced it on the splash page of Chapter 35, but they didn’t mention the date. Surely they want fans to pick tankoubon, the goods box AND that month’s Nakayoshi all in the same day ^^”

      I laughed that they actually used the word “fashionable” to describe the can badges. I think it’s gonna be old illustrations. The two cards made me think of the exhibition cards (THANKS and HAPPINESS). But surely they would inform if that was the case? And putting them in the goods box would kill the exclusivity of the exhibition.

      • ah… your reply made me realize something: there won’t necessarily be a page dedicated to advertisement, like it already happened before…because they’ve done it for so long, I kinda took for granted that there is always this one page full of ads about the latest CCS releases in the Nakayoshi ^^;
        But looking at the color page that was spoiled on Amazon, all the ads are ON it already! ^^;;

        HAHAHA, yes, I saw that fashionable word and wasn’t sure what we were supposed to make of it either XD XD

        About the ‘clear cards’, my thoughts didn’t go in that direction at all: I thought it would be semi-transparent postcards kind of thing, like the ones that are being sold as sets of 4 at the CCS exhibit right now.

          Oh, that’s strange… it’s a little soon to get rid of that page. Either it’ll be back soon, specially if we’ll have a second season for the anime, or there isn’t a lot left planned for CCS that they don’t feel the need to have that page anymore? Strange.

          Yeah, I thought about those too. But since it says “card”, I assume it will mimic the Card designs?
