The second volume of Card Captor Sakura ~Clear Card arc~ debutted at the 7th position in Oricon’s weekly ranking, with an estimate of 70,099 copies sold in its first week of sales.

The above numbers are for the regular edition. The Special Edition (badges + postcard) did not appear in the top 50, which means it sold less than 15,496 copies (which is how much the 50th place sold).

While these numbers might seem a little underwhelming for Card Captor Sakura standards, it is worth mentioning that the ranking ranges from March 27 to April 2 and these volumes came out on April 1st, so these numbers reflect the sales of two days only, not a whole week.

We should have a more solid idea of its performance by next week’s numbers, when they’ll have a full week exposure.

  1. I believe this is a good number considering this is a week-end after all ^^
We will have a better idea next week!

I wonder: are pre-orders included in the total? I believe many people mush have reserved it in physical stores and online, especially the special edition…

    • I am not sure… maybe not. Oricon doesn’t cover everything, which is why CCS #1 sold 1 million and they only counted 400.000 around the 7th week.

The 3rd volume OAD version is already at Amazon’s ranking, so I don’t know if those are being counted… likely not.

On the other side, I lol’ed at CCS CC vol. 3 being already in Amazon’s ranking…it’s coming out in September but I bet there are tons of pre-orders already!! You go girl!! I’ll wait for next week’s oricon ranking!

        • I don’t know? I think Kodansha are counting them but Oricon likely counts only the week the are released.
They might count them but they might not be enough to appear on the weekly rankings and therefore we don’t know?
They will not keep accumulating the pre-orders and add them to the copies sold at the release week, that’s for sure.
