Here’s a list of upcoming CLAMP tankoubon releases:
- March 27: Card Captor Sakura ~Nakayoshi 60th Anniversary Edition~ vol. 1 & 2.
- April 24: Card Captor Sakura ~Nakayoshi 60th Anniversary Edition~ vol. 3 & 4.
- Japanese Fall: Tsubasa – WoRLD CHRoNiCLE – vol. 2. The limited edition will come with the Tsubasa Shunraiki original animation in Blu-Ray (confirmed via this scan from volume 1).
Thanks for sharing these news!
It looks like I will have to save money for not one, but two limited editions of TWC ^^;
I am a bit surprised for the CCS release: I was expecting they would leave a 2 months gap between each release (especially since they release 2 books at once) but I see it will be monthly, interesting.
Still, there are no pre-order page for the CCS books even though vol1&2 will be out in only a month from now, and no additional information either: we know we will be getting new artworks for the covers , but will the books have hard covers? Will they be bigger (like the 90’s hard cover edition of CCS) or a standard size? Will they include color pages inside? And how will the ones who purchase the books get the digital contents, with a CD? or more like downloading through internet? (in which case will it be a Japan only thing?)? Do we have to buy the vol1 & 2 as a set or can they be purchased separately from one another? Price? … I have so many questions xD I hope we will get answers soon.

You’re welcome! =)
The CCS new issues are 9 and they are releasing them by 2, so the final volume (9) will come alone out by July.
I agree with you on the lack of more information, we still don’t have a price! I seriously don’t know why. I can only guess that the digital content will be downloaded but I have no idea if it’s going to be restricted to Japan — that would be such a shame.
I do know one thing: you will definitely be able to purchase them separately since they are listed separately in Kodansha’s website: http://kc.kodansha.co.jp/calendar

Thanks for answering some of my questions 🙂
About the digital content, if it’s just about fooling whatever website into thinking the buyer is in Japan, a proxy can be used so it’s no big deal, but that is only if that’s the only thing needed (that and a password/username I guess + whatever codes I suppose will be included in the books) but if they ask for information like an address in Japan or other personal info to prove the person is indeed a resident in Japan, this will be complicated, not to say impossible…which would be a shame for all the international fans; and things will be even worst if what I’m worried about happens: if they are sharing the color illustrations digitally, should we fear that they won’t take the pain to make the paper version of the book any special at all, with just a new cover and all in black&white, since everything else could be checked online…? Then the non resident in Japan will be twice disadvantaged ouch! ^^;

They are available for pre-order starting today at http://www.hmv.co.jp/ :
Volume 01 : http://www.hmv.co.jp/artist_CLAMP_000000000035835/item_%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89%E3%82%AD%E3%83%A3%E3%83%97%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%81%95%E3%81%8F%E3%82%89-%E3%81%AA%E3%81%8B%E3%82%88%E3%81%9760%E5%91%A8%E5%B9%B4%E8%A8%98%E5%BF%B5%E7%89%88-1-KC%E3%83%87%E3%83%A9%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9_6277806
Volume 02: http://www.hmv.co.jp/artist_CLAMP_000000000035835/item_%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89%E3%82%AD%E3%83%A3%E3%83%97%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%81%95%E3%81%8F%E3%82%89-%E3%81%AA%E3%81%8B%E3%82%88%E3%81%9760%E5%91%A8%E5%B9%B4%E8%A8%98%E5%BF%B5%E7%89%88-2-KC%E3%83%87%E3%83%A9%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9_6277807
And so, the latest information are:
-Price: 1058 JPY
-ISBN / Catalogue No: ISBN 13: 9784063771541 – ISBN 10: 4063771547
-Publisher: Kodansha
-They say it’s a “Deluxe” edition, we will have to see what they mean by that…
-The digital content (scans of the manga + latest unpublished illustrations of CCS) will be available in this website: https://codigi.jp
From what I could see, there is nothing special about this website, you just need to register with a username/password/email and that’s it, and afterward you will obviously need the info included in the flyer inside the book which explains how to access the material. We will still have to see if it’s limited to Japan territory when we will try to access the actual contents later on (and as said that kind of problem will be resolved easily with a proxy), but beside that, there seems to be no problem! 🙂
I really hope they will be available on amazon.jp soon! For the moment, I saw them nowhere else, but it shouldn’t take long I suppose…
Other than that, now that I thought more about it, I have a bittersweet feeling about the unpublished artworks: there were so many of them released these past few years, that I was actually hoping for a new artbook, not a digital version…but we will do with what we have!

Thank you for the info! 1058 JPY is pretty pricy, I think it’s gonna be a neat edition.
Hopefully there is no reason to make it Japan-restricted. They should be aware of the many consumers outside Japan.
I think they might release these pictures in a book format in the future, specially if these new editions sell well.

I’m still a bit worried about the codigi website, since when registering I really only saw Step 1 out of 3, but I think you’ll be right: they should be aware of the Clamp’s fans outside of Japan, so chances are there won’t be any issues.
