I gotta say, I’m amazed by Tomoyo’s healing abilities xD Taking care of Kurogane’s HOLE in his shoulder and Sakura’s HOLE in her chest.
I was curious about Sakura’s situation, and here she is, under the longest-living Sakura tree of Nihon. I wonder if there’s more about that tree…
And she didn’t wake up even though a feather returned to her body. Maybe because she’s still recovering from the wound, or maybe she won’t wake up at all until her soul returns to her body (most likely, in my opinion). Call me stupid but I still don’t get what’s the difference between the “soul”, which is currently in the Dream World, and the feathers… aren’t they the same?
Moving on. Kendappa touched the point I wanted to be touched: whether Kurogane will continue the journey or not. I think he will, of course, but Syaoran looked startled and the fact that CLAMP brought this question up makes me wonder if there’s more to it…
FUUMA! Soo unexpected! I actually thought they would land in Tokyo instead of Nihon for who-knows-why reason, and once they landed in Nihon I thought “no vampire or hunters for a while”. How wrong I was…

An artificial arm! I knew Kurogane wouldn’t stay arm-less for the rest of the series. CLAMP just -wanted- to have a character with an artificial arm for the first time in their history XD I can bet with you in the next color page we’ll find out the colors of this arm.
There wasn’t enough time to cover it in some sort of skin. Sorry about that.

I love how Fuuma mentioned the promise he made to Yuuko in Tokyo. It’s Ohkawa throwing in our faces that she knew it all along. And I love how Piffle is involved (it was more important than just having an end-less race).
Fye! Oh Fye, you have understood, finally! His smile by the end of the chapter is such a truth smile, it’s the first time we see “Yuui”‘s true smile.
It’s very sad he won’t be seeing his beautiful blue eyes anymore xD (unless he gets the left one back from the clone), but it was for a good cause. He’s now “even” with Kurogane, and like always, I wonder if Yuuko will make use of Fye’s magic somehow.
And last but not least:
SEISHIROU!
The caps and font size are not because I’m a huge Seishirou fan, they express how completely surprise I am to see him, out of all places, in Nihon! And his appearance means only one thing: his story with Subaru is going to be concluded!
I knew the next thing CLAMP would do was to take care of the Seishirou/Subaru mess, that’s why I was thinking they would land in Tokyo or something xD I was half-right then. I still don’t know how Subaru and Kamui will land in Nihon, it would be such a coincidence! XD
Things are surely, definitely going to get interesting, the calm lands of Nihon are about to get shaken xD

That’s a good point, to associate the memories with her heart and her soul with her mind, which is why she looks like she’s in coma state. It’s quite confusing

I’m not sure Tokyo Pop went too far. The Nakayoshi is aimed for young girl, but the Amie was for older readers. So Clover is the only Clamp series showing is character kissing freely and having sex. Well, only Kazuhiko and Oruha are, but it’s more than any other series officialy published by CLAMP. Even Chobits and xxxHolic which are feature in a magazine showing bikini girls on its front pages and fully naked girls and boys in its manga chapters, aren’t going this far.
But let’s get to the source since I’m sitting next to Tomoe’s Kodansha Clover volumes:

Well, I think that it’s quite clear, that Kurogane will go with the group.
Not only because of Fye, the blood, but also because with the clone running wild and Sakura half-dead, he just can’t leave them alone now.
I’m no really expecting it even becoming a problem, but more like Kurogane saying that he has to go, and Tomoyo saying goodbye with a smile.

well i believe the feathers are the expiriences and the knowlege of this soul and this encarnation, without them the soul has no personality and no purpose in life… and the bodie can’t live without the soul all of this is a magic thing to mantain the soul and the bodie separated that’s i think!!!
about the arm i think of they land in nihon or in pifle but Fye need nihon, sakura either, the only one who need pifle was Kuro, but ohkawa arrange things for him, and the hurry for the arm is in part because the efect of the mechanical arm, but also because i’m absolutely sure He must use it very soon, Seichiro is back, and this could be only problems, where there a sakura tree blossom there is Seishiro and troubles!!!!
I’m so proud of Fay, He at last value his life and without the magic what make others unhappy and put them in danger (his perspective) is peacefull and ready for a new life, i hope he could have a one!!!

Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! *glomps in shock* Ne, all I have to say that this chapter was so very promising. Very “X”-ish too with the concept and the characters. First of all, I want to say that the scene with the Sakura tree as she is resting there was very touching. The “X” moment of that one is that both Syaoran and Sakura-hime were doing the Kamui/Kotori thing once again. XDDD

Anyway, it was so cool the scenes that reveal that Fai was the one who paid the price for Kurogane’s arm. Most of all was the one that he said that he didn’t minded his eye for the vampire blood will keep him alive. AND HE DID IT WITH A REAL SMILE ON HIS FACE!! ^o^ That was like a way of him saying that Kurogane’s sacrifice was not such a waste after all!! When Kurogane gave him a grinning smile at him… sore wa hontou kawaii desu yo ne!! >////<
Of course, Kurogane fangirls are rejoicing for they get to see him shirtless as the arm is attached to his body. Man, he sure does he a great set of muscular abs… *tries not to drool* Anyway, he looks pretty awesome with that arm attached to him!!
And yes, at last but not least – the most cliffhanging part of the chapter…
SEISHIROU!!!
Hisashiburi desu yo ne!! O____o After 120 very, very long chapters since the last time that he was seen in Outo/Edonis World on Chapter 49, I almost screamed in the entire computer room when I saw him!! I'm dying with great excitement to know why is he doing in Feudal Japan. I hope that if he gets to talk with Fuuma, it will be an interesting conversation. And maybe more…!! OKAERI NASAI, SEISHIROU!!!
What more can I say that this chapter has so many things that was nearly like "X": the tree scene of Syaoran and Sakura-hime, Fuuma's return, and the long reappearance of Seishirou!! This was quite by far the best promising chapter that I ever seen from this series!!
Great job doing the commentary report for this chapter, Chibi-Yuuto. You so made me laugh a lot with the "Fuuma" delivery crack. XDDDD I'm sorry that I made such a long and crazy rant about this. ^___^; It was just that it was so exciting to see Fuuma and Seishirou – even that lovely scene Fai and Kurogane expressing their gratitude of their sacrifices with smile on their faces. Yukito said Sakura’s feathers were her heart/memories. Not that we know exactly what a heart is in Holic/Tsubasa (my personal theory is that it’s the “glue” that keeps body and soul together¹, along with storing memories², realized relationships³ and magic in some cases⁴), but still…
¹ Suggested by the fact that eroding the “suppression mentality” makes it easier to steal a soul.
² Sakura’s experience.
³ Shaoran’s speech to the clone. (Potential relationships, I believe, are hardwired into the soul and thus fall under the “hitsuzen” umbrella.)
⁴ Sakura’s feathers from Chi and Freya.

The imagery, for one. XD More seriously, though, I think Sakura shouldn’t be “spared” from meeting types such as him. She isn’t even all “princess innocence” like the was in Outo anymore, so there’s really no reason to keep sparing her (and even if she was, being “prince(ss) innocence” never saved anyone from Seishirou in the X world).

And I always thought that in Clover Kazuhiko (Sorry, I can’t remember his nime, Oruha’s boyfriend?) had a mechanic arm, but it was a weapon, right? Kurogane´s arm just made me think of Clover ^^;;.

ZOMG even without seeing this chapter it sounds totaly amazing! I’ve been wanting the twin/Sei-chan storyline tied up ever since Tokyo so I’m uber excited!! It does seem rather crule of Clamp to toss him in when the guys have just begun to wind down though…

It was so heartwarming to see Fai smile like that. A true smile. And then Kurogane and Shaoran smile back. Beautiful. He’s finally decided that his life is worth something. And it’s Kuro-tan’s fault. 😀
I had totally forgotten how cool Fuuma and Sei-chan are in Tsubasa. (Not that they aren’t cool in X and TB, but they seemed to have leveled up here XD) I’m so glad I just finished re-reading Tokyo Babylon. Now I only wish I had all of X so I could read that again too.
Thanks for the post chibi-yuuto! This is a great way for to procrastinate from my midterms. XD looking forward to next week’s update!

Seishirou! i really want to see him! Why is he here? Well, maybe no reason, because he travel without a real guide, but, im sure this time he will meet Subaru (and Kamui, of course)
I´m not really concern about Fuuma reaction (after all,they are partners)I´m more worried about what is going to do Syaoran about. He is not the clone, and i´m sure Seishirou is able to notice that, but Sei has a feather, and the reason and main motiv of all this story was to get back those feather´s for Sakura(People remember that, isnt? the plot has been so twisted lately that i almost forgot) I´m sure Syao is going to try….And i´m reaaally worried about it.

I think the real!Syaoran can try to get back the feather, but it’s what gives Seishirou power, and he needs it somehow. I think he won’t care for the feather once he finds Subaru and gets what he wants from Subaru…

THAT you can bet! Hehe, i know is silly, but i really was waiting to see Clonesyao and sei fighting again, like their promise last time. But, then, the match everybody is expecting is against subaru and kamui, so i lost all hope of seeing Sei vs Clone. Next chapter is going to be GREAT!! i cant wait!!
By the way, are you following also Fullmetal alchemist? Last Chapter was also REALLY shocking and i´m literally dying to see next… Why, oh, why Arakawa only give one lame chapter per month to his fans?! sob, sob… This month is going to be extremly large.

Fye! Oh Fye, you have understood, finally! His smile by the end of the chapter is such a truth smile, it’s the first time we see “Yuui”‘s true smile.

I wonder if it’s a kudo to Fullmetal Alchemist, Kurogane lost his left arm, but just his left arm, and then get a mechanic arm to replace it, like one of the ninja from FMA. Especially since the arm isn’t coming with skin and Fuuma specifically tells it could have come with some. If Kurogane start wearing gloves, that will definitively be a kudo. XD

Hi. Did someone notice that seishirou had his two eyes? I remember that in the land of Oto, one of his eye was white. It was the price for traveling into dimensions. What will be the explanation?

Does he? I only saw him on the last page with both of his eyes closed first then only the left part of his face with his left eye open. And since he lost his right eye, I can’t confirm anything. But it’s hard to see from the distance.

Wonderful chapter we had this week, isn’t it?
Much more action than what we are used to with TRC. What will next week brings? Subaru ans Kamui I hope. I hope it will continue this way until the very end. ^_^
And she didn’t wake up even though a feather returned to her body.
If we remember the Hanshin part, the first feather only prevent her from dying. The second one should wake her up. So if Seishirou give her the one he possess (since his brother can give him a ride to Subaru) she may wake up in the same state she was back in Corea, minus the incredible luck.
Call me stupid but I still don’t get what’s the difference between the “soul”, which is currently in the Dream World, and the feathers… aren’t they the same?
If I understand well, the feathers are the materialization of Sakura’s soul fragments. The soul contain the essence of a person (ideals, memories, wishes, etc.), explaining why Sakura’s personnality came back to her bits by bits and was still incomplete when her soul went to the tube in Yuuko’s shop. So the soul trapped in the dream world is only a part of what Sakura is, so if she find other feathers she should be able to wake up and interact with others but she could have another personnality since the part of her that we know (like the part that care about others) is in the dream world. In other words, we could see a carefree and easy going Sakura following the boys which would be quite a contrast with the gloomy Infinity Sakura. At least, that’s what logic would say, but Ohkawa is sometime following her own laws so it’s hard to be sure of anything.
Well I hope it help you understand better the concept. However, I still could be very wrong myself. Time will tell, I guess. ^_~
