First official picture of Tsubasa OVA!

The official website of Tsubasa TOKYO REVELATIONS has been updated with the first official picture of the upcoming Tsubasa OVA (or OAD, if you prefer).

They added more names to the cast list, but none of them are new. Now joining the previous announced characters are Yuuko, Fei Wang and Xing Huo.

The Opening and Ending themes singers have also been announced:

Opening Theme performer: Makino Yui (Sakura’s seiyuu).
Ending Theme performer: Maaya Sakamoto.

The first OVA comes out on November 16th.

    …well, that doesn’t look too bad, ne? Could be much worse…
    Though I would love to know how Fay and Kurogane look…and what size Mokona has! And Subaru!!!! XD

      Indeed it doesn’t look that bad… it looks a a bit worse than the movie, but better than the anime. But I thought the picture wasn’t “shaded” enough, look a bit plain, IMO.

      Subaru and Kamui, I’m really looking forward to these two! Actually I’m looking forward for the whole X cast ^^

        I hope they picked a bad image for this…or at least improve with the shading during the episodes! come on there are only 3!! They could do them in the same quality as the film! …probably too expensive, ne?
        I hope they don’t spoil our joy of seeing them move with bad drawings! >

      The official Tsubasa singer xD She beat even Kinya xD I like Maaya. I liked the choice X3 And I don’t like Kinya, I hope Yui’s song is good (because that Amurita was so meeeeh).

  7. OMG THANK YOU BOTH! *____* It’s funny, yesterday I had a kind of premonition and I kept visiting the official site again and again… guess my premonitions fail at timing XDDD

    It’s the usual Production I.G. style, good but kind of simple… however, when they do these things, it usually means that they’re sacrificing a bit of chara design over awesome animation quality *__*

    I like Maaya, but… I must admit I’m not too happy with Yui singing the opening >_> I don’t like her much as a singer (well, I don’t like her as a seiyuu either ^^u), and I wanted a fast, dark and strong Kinya song for an OP.

    But maybe Makino-san will put more effort in Tokyo!Sakura (at least I hope so): even if I didn’t like how she portrayed Sakura in the anime, maybe it was the script’s fault. Don’t look at me like that XD In the Horitsuba dramas, she seemed more lively and capable of expressing a wider range of feelings, so maybe these things happen. I noticed Miyu Irino sounded a little bit lifeless in the Tsubasa anime too, but he does a really good job at voice-acting in other roles (he was simply AWESOME in Kingdom Hearts, and even in the Tsubasa movie, I felt he expressed much more emotions with his voice).

    Wait, that was so messy… x__x

      Yeah! They have a great character design, but lacks a bit on shading and coloring.

      As long as she doesn’t sing another Amurita, I’m happy with it XDDD

      And about the seiyuus, IT’S ALL BEETRAIN’S FAULT XDDDDDDDDDDD The director sucked at well, directing the actors xD And they couldn’t do miracles when the animation didn’t help them much either. It must be horrible to dub an expression-less character.

      I liked Yui playing Sakura in the CD Drama as well, and Miyu is just a perfect, perfect TRC!Syaoran.

      • Yeah, the point of the community is to not really take anything too seriously, and the idea of posting in complete caps is taken from capslock_dn and geass_capslock, which follow the same idea but for those series.

        This is one of my favourite icons i’ve had for a while XD I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between that Final Distance PV and Tsubasa….. ~_^

  14. Aw, I was kind of hoping for another Kinya song. =\ *listens to Blaze on loop (teehee.)* Of course, Yui Makino has a fabulous voice too, I can deal with her as opposed to Kinya.

    Hm. The colors seem a bit too bright, almost, in that image. Maybe it’s just me.

  16. :O! Thanks for the info! WOW! So exciting o_o It looks like Production IG got a better hang of animating Tsubasa characters.. they look a lot better than they did in the movie. Or maybe its just me, haven’t watched the movie in awhile XD; But really, they look great! Can’t wait for November ^__^

  17. Zomg I’m sooo excited! I was worried they’d try to kid-safe the whole eye eating thing…. WEEEE!! (Is it bad to be excited about seeing in motion a character rip out another’s eyeball and eat it? I like the idea of Fai in pain…in MOTION ^^)

  18. I like the picture of the future OVA ! The two Shaolan are so great !
    Sakura just look a bit strange with orange hair (because she was nearly blonde in the anime), but it’s her real color so it’s good for me ^^
    I just can’t wait for these 3 OVA >-<

  22. Thanks chibiyuuto-kun, I saw the picture in the website, I didn’t like it very much though. The faces of the 2 Syaorans doesn’t look alike and the hair colour is a bit different.

  23. Maaya is doing the ending! I feared she wouldn’t as she didn’t made the movie.

    The first official picture looks kind of wrong, I don’t know, may I just need some sleep.

    • After a night worth of sleep … that’s the Recolt-koku’s dress, so they do disown the 8 last episodes of the TV series. Worse, the dress isn’t even the same color, so they disown the entire second series, if not the whole TV series. Well, the fact that it’s named Tsubasa and not Tsubasa Chronicle was a hint it was linked to nothing but the manga, but I thought at least Clamp would take the opportunity to design new clothes for the whole crew, so the OVAs would be a proper ending for the TV anime.

      I’m disapointed with the opening, I don’t like Makino Yui as a singer, Kinya would have been better, althought I don’t like him much. The best choice in my opinion would have been the one who did the X tv anime opening (well, X Japan would have been even better but they disbanded years ago, there’s really no way).
