Tsubasa to last until 2007?

Yeah, seems so… in a promotional ad for Tsubasa’s Trading Card, they mention that the anime series will have 2 more season (3 in total).

According to the text, between one season and the other, they’ll rebroadcast the previous seasons, including CCS’s 3rd one. So, the schedule can be something like that:

April/2005~September/2005 – Tsubasa Chronicle Season 1 (airing right now);
October/2005~March/2006 – CCS 3rd Season (rebroadcast);
April/2006~September/2006 – Tsubasa Chronicle Season 2;
October/2006~March/2007 – Tsubasa Chronicle Season 1 (rebroadcast);
April/2007~September/2007 – Tsubasa Chronicle Season 3.
October/2007 and on – Rebroadcast of Seasons 2 and 3.

Very good news for some people, kind of bad for others, but it seems to be the truth. And what’s more, as we all know very well, the anime won’t go alone… so the manga also won’t stop until the end of the anime, which is 2007.

Indeed we all knew only 26 episodes weren’t near enough to make justice with Tsubasa… but I certainly did not expect 3 seasons… nor this big break of six months between them.

So that’s it… 150 chapters, 21 volumes. Each season covering 7 volumes (also 7 volumes for each Character Guide).
Besides, I really think Sakura has 12 feathers in a whole (because of the number of sections in her wings) and we are right now just a bit further from the half of the manga (chapter 85 in a total of 150, around 55%) and she has 5 feathers, which is 50% of 12 (total number of feathers). Seems that fits for me…

Thank you Sakura-chan for that bit of news!

tricianna-san has posted new magazine pics from XXXHOLiC and Tsubasa Animes ^^ Thanks !

      • Yeah definately… This will definately kill computer space X_x I hope my DVD burner doesn’t die… XD
        So with three seasons and a plotted 2007 finish, it doesn’t seem like it will be licensed soon, ne?

        XD 21 volumes of Tsubasa = Heaven + loss of more computer space + empty wallet

    • The question is: will they ruin them?

      I’m scared to think how will Seishirou look or act like. Oruha might look as ugly as every CLAMP beauty looks in Tsubasa until now. If they can ruin Yuuko and Arashi… *shifty eyes*

        I’m afraid you are right ^^””””

        Indeed I would prefer not to see an ugly Oruha and stick with CLAMP’s beautiful Oruha.

      • You have a good point, though I admit I’m attempting to be optimistic about Seishirou’s personality. I have little hope that he will look as good as he did in TB and X. And I’m only curious about Oruha. Her Tsubasa manga design was a little less than appealing.

        At least there is the pretty XXXholic movie for Yuuko? Though Watanuki kinda freaks me out xx;

  2. WAI 3 seasons?! Cool! I just hope this doesn’t mean there’ll be more filler-episodes. =_=

    The new Kiseki is pretty! Purple is one of my fav colors (and I’m not a Fai x Kuro fan either~).

    Thanks for the news. ^o^

  3. *headdesk* Great, they’re out to ruin all the manga sagas. More reasons Production I.G was wrong taking XXXHOLiC all its glory. We’re going to have Tsubasa even in the soup.

    I was glad there were 26, because they were bad and it was going to end soon. Shit.

    —hiragizawa, too lazy to log in.

    PS: CCS had three seasons. Just commenting that.

    • The only bit of news about the 2 new seasons is the long-life the manga will have…
      I was quite expecting to be edinding soon, next year at the maximum… but oh well.

  4. Well, the news that the anime’s going to last until 2007 means that they won’t severely ruin the anime by giving it a premature ending, but looking at all that math that’s gone into calculating the manga’s lifespan… 55%?! Does this mean xxxHOLiC’s going to last just as long?! (YAY if it does mean that!)

    Volume 11 looks very nice indeed, but I noticed that they unceremoniously shoved Kobato (Temporary) into volume 12.

  5. OMG! THAT’S GREAT NEWS!

    That only means they wont destry the anime and decently end the series! Hahah. Thanks for this bit of happy news. Was feeling stressed out, so I was really ahppy to read it. 😀

  6. Well, this is both wonderful and crushing. Wonderful because my fandom will not cease soon and crushing because I don’t know how much longer my pocketbook can take this. There’s just too much. -_-‘
    And I am a Kurogane and Fai shipper and I am head over heels for the eleventh cover. It’s going to be mine as soon as it comes out. I can’t wait. And the Twelfth one I’m sure is going to be beautiful with Syaoran and stuff. Can’t wait. ^_^

  7. I knew it! I so called that they would probably take a break and make season two! My awesome psyche powers…

    I guess either 12 or 14 feathers depending on what illustration you look at, however it looked like way more shot off of her then just 14, so we’ll see…

    This is both a good thing and a bad thing. This means we’ll get to see Shurano/Sharano, Piffle, stupid jungle bunnies animated. However they haven’t been doing such a hot job up till now. My true hope is maybe they’ll get a better budget, animators for season two (maybe CLAMP can apply a bit of force/guidance – new director or something…..) Or, we get more mediocre crap.

    At least we don’t get a really lousy halfassed rushed ending. Instead we’ll get people going ‘wtf? that’s it? that sucked!’ on MBs all over the place and half to explain that more is coming…

    Volume 11 is pretty, and as everyone knows I’m not a Fai w/ Kuro fan. (echoing the sentiments)

    Thanks for the heads up!

    • On the anime scene, you can see a lot of feathers coming out… but in the manga, in that little square where shows the ruins in the distance and the feathers going away, you can really count them and it’s around 12~14…

      But on the last illustrations (That Soundtrack backcover) and the latests Splash covers, you can count 12 as well ^^ And it’s a good number… remember Clow Cards? They were so few compared to the anime.

      I DO hope we can get better animation after season 2… and also CLAMP to do something… either write scripts or songs… just, SOMETHING!

  8. I knew that, but I expected only 2 seasons… 3 are too many… 2007 looks too far away ;_; The good side is that we’ll see Sei x Subaru side story, whatever it is. So season 1 will end after Outou(sp) country… Sei-chan!

    The Kiseki cover is wonderful 😀

    • I’m so like you… 2 seasons for me too… but if you think about it, if CLAMP had indeed planned 150 chapters since the beginning, 50 episodes also woundn’t make justice… -__- Where the hell X is gonna end up in this whole story?

      Like

      • Don’t know but what would be very cool would be that Sei, Sub, Kamui and Fuma end meeting in the same world ^_~ .. What would happen if Sei meets another Subaru inanother world? How can he know which one is he looking for? Or… there is only ONE Sei and ONE subaru? Not all characters seem to have clones, no Sakura clones so far for example…. I’m writing nonsense…

  9. Hi! I’ve been reading your LJ for a few months, but I don’t think I’ve commented yet. I really appreciate your frequent CLAMP news updates ^^

    I thought I should comment since I posted the Tsubasa anime news elsewhere and linked to here as the source. Is that okay? I’ll happily remove it (the link, the news or both) if you want me to.

    In any case, it’s very interesting news. As someone who’s really enjoying the anime (I’m quite a fan of Bee Train, Koichi Mashimo and Yuki Kajiura), I’m glad there’s gonna be a lot of it. I also think having a gap after each season is a good idea, since they probably won’t have to add in entire arcs of filler.

  10. So Tsubasa will be 21 books long and the anime will end for October 2007 after the third season …

    Thanks for the info!

  11. Yeah, Bee Train mainly makes one-season (26 eps) anime, hence the fact they have divide them in 3. Quite a surprise.

    Expect 2 things: New ops and eds AND LOTS OF FILLER EPISODES… ^^U

  12. ::laughs:: Well, this is great news! ^_^ I’m glad. I realize this was posted a long time ago, but thanks for the info none the less. Three seasons, huh? I can live with that. It’s funny though.. I’ll be 20 by the time the entire thing airs. Heeee ^.^
